  1. And yet they still can’t get to 186 😂
  2. Good to see Aaron Francis getting another crack - playing quite well.
  3. There’s just something about them that screams [censored] blokes!
  4. Swans slicing the Cats up, but kicking worse than us!
  5. For me, this sums it up: apart from the odd game, we have been a bit ‘meh’ for some time. It’s good that we have shored the defence up again, but it would be nice to see a bit of swashbuckle to go with it.
  6. Fair enough, mate - your written work is spot on.
  7. Thanks again @kev martin - what’s super impressive (apart from your fantasy dedication to providing your Demonland compadres with training reports) is how you notice the differences and tweaks in the training sessions over the weeks. Maybe a weekly spot on the @Demonland podcast - whaddya think?!
  8. I always say that any true Melbourne supporter will go to the snow mid-week to avoid rubbing shoulders with the riff-raff on weekends.
  9. An absolute highlight, especially as it was preceded by an incredible spoil by McVee.
  10. @FearTheBeard Ah, that’s great - thanks for clarifying.
  11. @Rab D Nesbitt - sorry to tell you that there will be Pies fans amongst us - even in Trident and Redlegs: in advance of this game, I added an extra seat to our family membership in Trident as I knew there was a spare seat available next to ours (KB is the one day that all our family goes to the footy together). I then got a call from the club on Thursday apologising profusely that whilst this seat would be ours for the remainder of the season, it would not be available for the Collingwood game, as Ticketek had identified it as vacant and already sold it! Hopefully it’s a Dees supporter that has got it, but past experience tells me otherwise. By the way, the club found us a seat directly in front of us, so not all bad.
  12. Thanks @kev martin for all your training reports: an invaluable service to Denonland! Much appreciated mate.
  13. That little baulk that he does is becoming a trademark move now. What I love about his play is his composure with ball in hand: everything around him seems to slow down when he has the ball - this sort of thing you can’t learn.
  14. Just had the same thought!
  15. A dreadful game - we have no zip at all, absolutely flat. Freo are terrible also - the Pies would have put these guys to bed already. Not sure where our lift is going to come from, but it doesn’t bode well for the rest of the year.
  16. We have an important day today - my 6 year old nephew (Dad: Kangas, Mum: Carlton) has insisted to his parents that he barracks for the Dees like his cousins. Today will be his first game.
  17. I’m not a boo-er, but If it puts him off his game, then yes. I get that he was part of the Premiership team, but he decided to leave for the $. Had he been edged out like Oskar Baker or Hunty, it would be different. He’s a Freo player now
  18. With a net over them, to stop missiles being thrown! @Rab D Nesbitt If the Dees put on another meek KB show, I may be forced to channel my inner Millwall and fly the flag in the Trident area 😂
  19. I’d be interested in what the membership split is. I’d have thought the reserved seats would be more than 20,000 if you include MCC/MFC members and all the Demon Seats, Trident, Redlegs etc. Regardless, they shouldn’t be charging MFC GA members extra: as you suggest, a nominal handling fee to reserve a seat.
  20. I know - they get in everywhere. Last year, we had Demon Seats memberships, yet there they were, spilling beer over everyone, sitting where they wanted. Stewards just shrugged.
  21. @DubDee - you should check with the club as, if you have a GA membership you should be able to get into every home game. There may be less choice of seats, but your membership should be counted as a ticket already sold. There’s no way you should have to pay extra just to get in.
  22. I agree @Monbon - nowadays, so many of us (myself included) are removed geographically from our families and communities, that we miss the grounding and the connectedness that it brings. It’s humbling to see a culture which remains so connected to itself, in spite of everything it’s had to deal with.
  23. Jumped on here to see if others had posted about this. An incredible piece of footage on so many levels. Very proud that it is OUR club that has forged an environment of care and acceptance. It makes us all stronger - it’s the way forward.
  24. Seconded - great call @binman - I’d love to hear more about his indigenous background.
  25. Hi all - I appear to have been given an additional 2 General Admission guest passes as well as my usual seats. Is this normal?! If so, I’m happy to pass these on at no cost to any Demons who might like to go tonight, but want to make sure that they will get you in!
