  1. Possibly, but unless, as someone tweeted "maybe ross lyon could offer half his pay packet to clark as well. Sure he wouldnt miss it", I don't think Freo will go much harder.
  2. yep... and I'm guessing that this means there is a good chance Clark has reconsidered and indicated he will go to the Dees... I doubt very much Brisbane would be putting themselves in a position where he could walk for free.
  3. And my comment relates to the fact that just because you don't see anything going on, it doesn't mean that the machinations are not taking place behind closed doors. Believe it or not, multi-tasking is possible.
  4. Can't say I've seen that written up anywhere; have just seen people saying his wife/partner and child are in Perth - but again, not seen anything written up officially about that either... however, it is NOT a certainty he will go West; the MFC offer could set him up for a much better shot at life in general for him and his family. And by the way, where has it been stated that the MFC are no longer considering Lisle? Love your defeatist (yes defeatist, not realist) attitude!
  5. Spoken like a true MFC supporter - at the very least, I hope Neeld can at least get this defeatist attitude out of the playing group.
  6. I wouldn't be averse to us taking Morabito (fat chance of that ever happening) :-)
  7. As a forward this year he averaged 1.6 goals per game with limited opportunities due to the lack of feed inside 50. Averaged in the mid to high 70's in Dreamteam points.
  8. And pray tell how we were ever going to beat pick 2?
  9. First anouncement from TradeWeekRadio was: "sam reid @westernbulldogs to GWS for compensation pick" and they just anounced: "The Crows confirm they've secured pick 2 and will go after Brad Crouch" So nothing definite re Clark as yet
  10. Someone just tweeted on #tradeweek: "Clark deal done: Clark + 29 + 34 for Pick 16 & 20 & 38" No idea how much truth there is to it though, but TradeWeekRadio also tweeted just after: "we're hearing two trades could be about to fall. stick with us....more to come"
  11. 21 seems to be the magic number - pick 21, played 21 senior games and 21 years old.
  12. This expression gets bandied about far too much on these forums for mine. Whether Green's accepting the 12 month terms involves the captaincy or not is simply idle speculation by myself and others here, and even if it did, it is hardly "holding the club to ransom". Green would obviously be after what he thinks is best for himself (as he should), and the club are obviously going to pay/come to an agreement based on what they think is best for them. Of course there will be a certain amount of compromise involved on both sides and I guess we will find out what was involved in the deal in due course. But "holding the club to ransom"?? Nah!
  13. I get the feeling that the deciding factor may be that he will retain the captaincy; then again, I'm not correct very often :-)
  14. Well, you stated: "He's big, strong, and a great mark. He needs to find consistency, but should be coming into his own. I endorse him as a potential recruit." - now does the "is he bigger than you, Ben?" comment make sense?
  15. Regardless of whether we pick him up or not, it's a bit unfair to tar and feather him over one bad miss... if that were to be used as a selection criteria, Neitz would never have pulled on the red and blue, Buddy would be playing country league, as would Riewoldt and numerous others.
  16. If I am not mistaken, that is an article from yesterday afternoon (5:27pm), before the AFL came out and publicly said that this deal could not go ahead.
  17. People tend to overlook the fact that our backline is one of our stronger areas... An AA in Frawley, Rivers (2nd in the Bluey), Garland (top 10 in the Bluey), Grimes when he is fit, Blease who has pace to burn and will continue to provide run and carry out of the backline for a long time. It's hardly surprising that Warnock couldn't crack it for a spot, which in turn must have dented his confidence (something that was pretty obvious when he did get a game). At a new club like the Suns, where he has a good chance of being a regular at the top level, Warnock's confidence will grow and he will soon be back to the form that had us all gushing about his prospects not so long ago. I hope he does well wherever he ends up.
  18. When he is off his form, Colin tends to give away a lot of silly/cheap free kicks. If he can get that out of his game he will be even more valuable than he already is. Arguably one of the most consistent and reliable backmen in the AFL.

    Daffy

I thought I heard him through the ump's mike, asking Petterd, "now Ricky, what seems to be the problem?".
  20. I notice Cam mentioned something about a local team called the Tianjin Demons. If we go to play a demo game again, I'll head over for sure... Shanghai last year was a great experience.
  21. Based on what? Pick 50 in the 2008 draft, played just 5 games at AFL level with a return of one solitary goal against the Suns (yes, I know he had 30 from 20 VFL games, but against what?). He's big, yes... but I wouldn't expect the club would want to give too much for him.
  22. I get the feeling FBPO just wanted to get that pun in :-)
  23. I posed a similar question based on what I had found out here: http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/28697-trade-week-discussion/page__view__findpost__p__495426
