  1. He was just trying to make Neeld feel at home :-)
  2. When the passenger is the owner of the car, I imagine it might be.
  3. I was singing Over, Under, Sideways Down in a band here in Sydney in the early 80's :-)
  4. Well, here are a few I could mention: The Rise and Rise of Michael Rimmer (with Peter Cook) The Bedsitting Room (featured just about every British comedian imaginable) Bedazzled (the original with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore) Dr Strangelove (of course)
  5. Yes, love the Badfinger soundtrack - "If you want it, here it is, come and get it, but you better hurry 'cause it's going fast..."
  6. I still have vivid memories of seeing the Stones at both Kooyong in Melbourne and Randwick Racecourse in Sydney on that Exile on Main Street tour... at the peak of their powers.
  7. There's only one thing worse than being talked about and that's NOT being talked about. (I think that was one of Wilde's your majesty)
  8. Don't get me wrong, I think pink Floyd deserved to have a mega hit/money spinner. I just happen to think it was one of their worst albums, having a preference for their more cerebral stuff :-) It did have some good tracks on it of course, but it just didn't really do it for me as an album from day 1 of it's release. In fact, I can only think of a handful of albums ever, that grabbed me from the moment I first heard them... The Rollings Stones "Beggars Banquet" and "Exile on Main Street", The Clash's "London Calling", Elvis Costello's "My Aim is True" and "Get Happy", Ryuichi Sakamoto's "Heartbeat" and a few others.
  9. He did some great stuff post CCR... Centerfield and Eye of the Zombie being a couple that immediately spring to mind. Favourite CCR album was their second, Bayou Country - was never a fan of Cosmos Factory; probably because every party you ever went to back then had it playing (or maybe it's just me... after all, I'm one of those blasphemers that can't stand Dark Side of the Moon).
  10. Well this was posted on Facebook by the AFL with a link to the article on their site... so hopefully they have got it right.
  11. Sure is... could call him Pythagorus because he="MC Squared"
  12. Well, if the Hammer brings back bad memories, perhaps Clark might confound the opposition a la MC Escher :-) or alternatively MC Hellshit from the Japanese minimalist/industrial band The Boredoms :-)
  13. And the opposition, well, they can't touch this!
  14. LOL... Gold!
  15. If we ever have to return all of those words we've borrowed, the English language will cease to exist.
  16. 40,873 - could be 874, but it depends on whether I can convince the guy up the road to take a membership.
  17. True, but I still contend it would be having zero impact on their fitness levels.
  18. Oh yes, the couple of minutes it takes them to tweet 3 or 4 times a day, must really have a major impact on their fitness!
  19. But that is the point exactly! I will be watching this and loving it, because I get the feeling that we could see a new "world record" winning margin.
  20. How has this topic managed to get to 4 pages?
  21. What we need is for Davey to rediscover his mojo, because with his razor sharp delivery into the forward 50, the opportunities for goals will increase enormously.
  22. Depends how consistently and accurately our mids can get the ball inside the 50. I actually don't mind if he doesn't kick 50, because the fact he will be drawing the main defender may result in Jurrah or Watts (or even Howe) getting more scoring opportunities.
  23. Not to mention The Loved Ones (arguably the best band this country ever produced), Mike Furber and the Bowery Boys, Little Gulliver, The Wild Cherries, Johnny Young, Bee Gees (Spics and Specs era). The Purple Hearts, The Valentines (Bon Scott's first band I believe), The Mixtures and on it goes. Discos like Thumping Tum, Box Hill and Ringwood Town Halls (fight night at the disco) etc etc. I have great memories of my first ever live concert which was a Go Show at the Myer Music Bowl in the late 60's; MPD, Bobby & Laurie, ONJ, Loved Ones, Bee Gees, Marcie and the Cookies, Wild Cherries, and a few others that escape me now.
  24. I think the spotlight will be on: - Buckley in his first season without Malthouse to bail him out and without two of his highly qualified assistants - Hird in his second year; if the Bummers stumble, it will start to hit the fan - Ratten if it gets to a point where it is looking like the Blues won't make the top 4 - Freo will be feeling the heat from day one because of the way they went about recruiting Lyon - Scully will be under serious scrutiny early in the season; moreso if he is given the captaincy - like Scully, Clark will be under some scrutiny early on, simply because of the size of the offer to get him to the club
