  1. Well, equally candidly, I was in no position to… my band had just played in Canberra, what will be our final gig for an indefinite period of time while I go into chemotherapy for the next however many months, and I had been taken out to dinner. I managed to get back to where I was staying in time to catch most of the second half.
  2. I agree to a point, but those missed calls probably even themselves out over the course of most games and are to be expected due to the pace of the game. Imagine how [censored] off we’d all be if every single infringement were picked up by the umpires… it would create an almost unwatchable game due to the numbers of stoppages in play. I feel for the umpires as while being a necessary component of the game, they’re always going to be damned if they don’t and damned if they do.
  3. So you’re saying that those three quick goals at the beginning of the last quarter were all a result of poor umpiring? The reason we lost was that we slept through much of the first half of the game, and then, when we had managed to get them on their knees by the end of the third, had a micro sleep allowing them to gain the ascendancy… if you’re going to blame anything else for the loss, then I’d be looking at the standard of the goal line technology, not the umpire. I’ll admit that I missed quite a bit of the game (first half) and am relying on my son’s first half assessment, but the only really dodgy umpiring decision I saw, was Roo having his legs taken out from under him on the boundary line in the dying minutes of the game.
  4. Greene, Bolton, and, can I say we hate Moore so that we can get him back to the club to which his father absconded.
  5. Someone from within the club on the Foxtel coverage, was saying that it’s a recurrence of the foot injury he had earlier this year that kept him out for six weeks.
  6. They both deserve it… unfortunately Clarry will have to wait until next year.
  7. I think Daicos has probably already done enough to win the Brownlow even without playing the remainder of the games.
  8. I don’t think that it was about winning the local derby, otherwise they probably would have cleared Jones as well… obviously he was unable to continue and so the ‘migraine’ call. I believe it was all about their upcoming match against Geelong next weekend… they did not want to go into that game minus two important players. I would have loved to see the AFL force them to sideline those players for two games, not just the one… and a full investigation to determine whether the club doctor was under any pressure to make that call.
  9. Yes… from memory it was in the 3rd quarter around the 10 minute mark, but my memory’s not the best and it was probably nowhere near that time.
  10. Yet everyone turned a blind eye to Max’s blunders that contributed to Richmond’s first three goals… selective blindness I suspect 😉
  11. Yet reading the game day thread, you’d be forgiven for thinking that ANB was on the Tigers’ payroll. The usual suspects with their blinkers on full lock… couldn’t see all of his acts that actually contributed to our forays towards the goals. He was excellent!
  12. No, they clarified later in the coverage that the ball has to touch the point post… it’s similar to the out of bounds rule in that your body can be over the line as long as you are still controlling the ball in the field of play.
  13. I don’t know if you noticed, but at one point he appeared to be talking tactics with Dusty; and Dusty seemed more than happy to share. A nice moment.
  14. Ok then, here’s some cheese with added cheese and extra cheese on top…
  15. Not cheesy, but…
  16. Not particularly funny
  17. I know it’s supposed to be insulting, but that had me actually laughing for it sheer brilliance! A Tigers supporter with a good grasp of the English language (vocab, not structure) and sense of humour… and, I’d suggest, someone I might get along with quite well.
  18. Are you saying that May, Lever and Tomlinson are undersized????
  19. You’re on the selection committee or one of the coaching staff? 😉
  20. The Brisbane Lions have had it worse than us if you take into account that the total number of games at the cattery as Fitzroy, Bears and Brisbane Lions is 28.
  21. I’m pretty sure he was on last Saturday night’s game coverage.
  22. Well, it certainly doesn’t read that way when you’re suggesting that a media college is established for Melb ex players and staff to redress the balance and protect the club. To me it reads that you’re wanting to see some sort of positive discrimination put in place, which, I highly doubt would ever work where sporting commentary is concerned… even my favourite commentator, Hudson, has a very obvious bias towards Geelong; but I accept that they will all have their favourites.
  23. So, you want a media that is biased towards us? Sorry, but I think you’ll find that regardless of which club you follow, you’d be able to find bias against that club, if you looked hard enough; it’s called <club>SS, for example, MFCSS.
  24. The censored word actually related to a chihuahuas output, if you know what I mean.
  25. I suppose when you have the IQ of a small chihuahua [censored], you’ve got to be good at something… well done Tex!
