  1. Will be signing my soon to be 10 year old as part of his birthday present.
  2. Apparently he has signed a 4 year extension with the Pies... reported on AFL360.
  3. Yes, but having Clark who is familiar with their game plan and style of play, will hopefully negate that to some extent.
  4. I understand what you are saying OD, but by the same token, I don't think much is to be gained by putting the boot into a person when they are down and almost out.
  5. Speed has that affect, yes... but as they say, once an addict, always an addict... the hard part is staying clean regardless of what your celebrity status may be. But I do have a problem with the sell/supply part if proven true.
  6. Yes, but teams like New York Yankees, Real Madrid, Manchester United etc etc are known all over the globe... unfortunately, I don't think the Melbourne Demons can make that boast just yet.
  7. No we are not surprised, but he is definitely not "dumb", but rather messed up as are most people with drug related issues. A little compassion wouldn't go astray (although if the sell and supply charges stick, I might reassess that).
  8. Benny has been arrested and charged with intent to sell and supply. http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/ben-cousins-arrested-over-drug-possession-in-esperance-20120328-1vyfb.html
  9. I wouldn't be holding my breath if I were you. The club has been in the news a lot recently and with Jimmy's funeral service taking place this week, they will want to get the players' angle on how this will affect the team, I would think.
  10. And what would you have been saying if it was a Dees player he had cleaned up and left with a fractured jaw?
  11. I just want them to take to the field with either the number 11 or 37 embroidered on their jumpers over their hearts - in fact I want them to wear that in every single match they play for the rest of the year.
  12. Yes, since I mentioned the fact they are here, I have been hearing them singing it in my head (make the voices go away!) and I am now convinced that there is no-one else on the planet that could do the GOF the kind of justice the Pogues would do it... imagine Shane MacGowan swaggering and staggering his way through that with that voice of his... perfect!! And the fact that they are in the country, if they have no other commitments, perhaps they could be convinced to stick around for a live performance.
  13. Tom Waits for no man :-) (couldn't resist, given your avatar)
  14. Agree with those sentiments, and think the Pogues would do a particularly suitable version as long as Shane MacGowan was singing. If the OP is serious about the idea, it might be an appropriate time to chase this up with the MFC, as I am pretty certain the Pogues are in Australia for the Byron Bay Blues Music Festival over Easter. Edit: (I have just tweeted Cam Schwab, suggesting he look at this thread)
  15. Maybe not, but Garry certainly did while relating the story of Jimmy and the magnetic white board at the International Rules game - fook... it's an Irish word for flaming (I think that was the explanation) - St Pauls hasn't heard such profanity inside its walls since I sang with the Trinity Grammar choir in the late '60's.
  16. Perhaps a Band Aid type of arrangement producing a CD with proceeds to Reach (and video performance of each version).. U2, Van Morrison, Chieftains, Elvis Costello, Pogues, Planxty, Luca Blume, Corrs (if you must) and Sinead O'Connor.
  17. In the Age collection, there are four very powerful images in particular that struck me with the emotion they conveyed; they were those of Gerard Healey, David Schwarz and Jeff Farmer as well as one of a woman in Federation Square, holding her hands in prayer.
  18. The word used in the title and opening post was, I believe, "brutal"... I have no problem with antagonistic, but no matter which way you look at it, "brutal" is not exactly flavour of the month at the MRP.
  19. Yes, just a hyphen between coming and going :-)
  20. Maybe something to do with the fact that his "victim" has supposedly suffered a facial fracture?
  21. How on earth did you get "sinister intentions" out of what I wrote???? It was simply the choice of the words "united front" that I was responding to... I certainly never insinuated that savoydee had any "sinister intentions" in saying that... but I have no issue with saying that yours is an overreaction.
