  1. Yes.. was tweeted by MFC: New rookies Nathan Stark and Mitch Clisby will be flown up to Darwin to join the team tomorrow
  2. Nathan Stark http://www.footballnation.com.au/latest-news/draft-prospect-in-focus-nathan-stark/
  3. Darwin was shaken by an earthquake overnight - hopefully no sleep was lost. "The magnitude 7.2 quake struck in the Banda Sea off Indonesia, but was felt more than 600km away in Darwin, at about 2.30am local time."
  4. Can't recall seeing this posted before, but while I was catching up on my Facebook page, I noticed a link to some Melbourne Demons poster art at a site called The Art of the Game... thought there may be some on here who could be interested: http://www.theartofthegame.com.au/collections/melbourne-demons
  5. Yes, the China trip was more about making inroads into a different market place and more emphasis was on diplomacy rather than fitness/training. The only constant seems to be Jones' work ethic... in China, despite having broken a bone in his neck/back(?), he was still running lap after lap after lap; the guy is a machine!
  6. Indeed OD - another possibility I overlooked :-)
  7. Maybe I'm reading too much into this and more than likely there is nothing in it, but is there a chance maybe something is going to come to light regarding shady dealings in his salary arrangements with the club? The fact that he has stepped down from the captaincy raises no suspicions, but the leadership group as well?
  8. Haha... just had a look; great tweet on your part :-)
  9. Yep, just said "Hopefully I don't have to get used to this #bloodyobstaclecourse #deesindarwin"
  10. Well, that would explain HG's quote from Rawlings re MacDonald: Jade said"we will start selling balaclavas and you can be the model".
  11. I'm pretty certain we did have a diary for the China trip, although I don't think it went into much detail about extra-curricular activities. And I take it that our HG originally hails from Tassie?Courtesy of google, worth a view just to see how things have changed: https://www.google.com/search?q=china+diaries+melbourne+fc&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&safe=images
  12. They should take them to Japan in the summer and get them doing the ascent and descent on Mt Fuji... they will get the unbelievable humidity in the lower part of the climb and as they get towards the top, the air is thin to the point where your leg muscles (well mine did) scream for relief and it can be extremely cold (ice remains year round). The descent is terrible for different reasons as it is very hard to keep your footing on the volcanic gravel that is like very very coarse over-sized sand (it gets into everything). So, they get endurance, altitude high/low temperature and balance training all in one day :-)
  13. It's making your "waters" back up?
  14. Actually, I think not... according to what I read, they were saying that the fact they found the beginnings of a stress fracture in its very early stages, is why they are confident he should be available for round one 2013. This probably had little or no bearing at all on his relatively lacklustre season 2012.
  15. Is that F Scott, or perhaps Patrick Fitzgerald or Gerald Fitzpatrick? ;-)
  16. Don't want to burst your bubble, but the post of mine that you responded to with those figures (the one where I mentioned the "steel fist"), was prompted by a tweet I saw containing those exact same penalties you mentioned and saying that was what the Crows and Tippet would be hit with.
  17. The thing that concerns me most about the likely result of this, is that once the attention is turned back to the "tanking affair", the AFL may come down hard on us just to show that they are not singling out Adelaide with the iron fist of justice; they will want to be seen as even handed, regardless of whether it is justified or not. Hopefully I have just contracted a mild case of MFCSS and that I'm completely wrong about this.
  18. It disappeared up its own fundament.
  19. Unless of course he meant "team"... but I'm sure he meant "meta"
  20. Maccas and Starbucks don't offer free wifi in Europe? They certainly do throughout Asia.
  21. He's been in the system for 4 years, the first 2 as a rookie. Due mainly to injuries, he has played just 16 games, the last occurring just as he was starting to show some real form and consistency. Since his return this year he has been steadily improving and it would seem by all reports that he is really taking to the Neeld training regime and starting to show results. I believe we should persevere with him.
  22. Perhaps the Grinter Award, the name of which is under discussion in another thread, should henceforth be known as the FNQ Award?
