Ling is truly an insufferable dribbling twit.
-
Love Frosty but he should never take kick outs ever.
-
Tonight is one of those games where you get an insight into who truly loves the jumper and who is going through the motions.
-
Who are we dreading in particular? Dan Butler? Brandon Ellis? Jason Castagna perhaps? Sure, they’re a good team in good form. Just saying on an individual basis this is not an intimidating side that we are facing. If we can get our [censored] together we can be more than competitive.

Does anyone honestly look at Richmond’s team with any fear? I don’t think I ever have, including when they have Rance and Cotchin running around. This week is no different. They have an obviously superior forward line which will probably be the difference, but I look at that team on paper with no sense of fear.

As an ex-title holder, I hope you channel your energy from this gross injustice into a concerted effort in 2020. Much like our shitty football team.

Paying out early on this one. Congrats DD, you are the 2019 champ. I advise everyone else to not read back through the thread ?

Jordan Lewis is NOT cooked, give him 1 more season.
P-man replied to John Demonic's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’d be genuinely shocked if both he and the club wanted him to go one more year. The tea leaves are pointing to this being his last year. Kudos for the job he did on the weekend though. His versatility gets undersold a little bit. His body work on McGovern was first rate. I have no issue with him playing out the year in the 1s but I think he’s done after that and I think he knows that as well. -
If we could just kick the thing through the big sticks, we’d have been spared a few headaches. Who is our goalkicking coach? Do we have one? Get Saty on board for all I care. Just get someone. Anyone. Lesson 1 - Wind: what is it and how does it affect my kick?

That highlights package is ridiculous. You almost forget how good he was.

Your point about the AFL media landscape as a whole is definitely valid. It is by and large embarrassingly shallow in its coverage, partly because they need to cater to a broad audience so everything gets dumbed down. You have to be near brain dead to gain anything at all from watching a show like “Talking Footy”. Regarding OTC specifically, the mix of panelists at the moment isn’t ideal. Of the four that are there, I’m not entirely sure who the technical expert is meant to be. Healy is the host. Roos gives insight from a coaching perspective. That leaves Lyon and Brown, neither of whom seem to fit the bill. I’m not David King’s biggest fan but he at least puts some effort into studying the game and it shows. All that said, someone at OTC pulls out the odd interesting nugget. The whole debate around the pitfalls of always moving the ball on quickly stemmed from a OTC segment which identified Melbourne as being the fastest team to play on, while the top 8 sides, bar GWS, all sat at the other end of the spectrum. So it is a worthwhile watch in that regard. Sometimes the discussion is rushed and somewhat shallow due to time constraints, but overall it is head and shoulders above other panel shows. As to DS’s post, whilst it is all factual, there is still the chance that it’s all just excuses for a team that’s been shown up. That remains a possibility. We will likely know one way or the other by the be mid point of next season

I did get a chuckle when they were reeling off their Grand Final tips the start of the season and Roos had to sheepishly admit his tip was Richmond v Melbourne.
-
Spot on. He’s hoping it will ring in the players’ ears. Probably won’t do much but at this stage it can’t hurt.
-
I never claimed it was awe inspiring. Well done on admitting he was ok and earned a recall. That can’t have been easy.
-
Like fish in a barrel ? Anyone who didn’t watch the game can read the stat sheet. Anyone who watched the game free of bias would admit he had a good game. Don’t strain yourself too much though.
-
Nibbler had a decent game. I’m sure he’ll get some acknowledgment from his routine critics.
-
Infuriating decision. Every [censored] week.
-
Pie getting thumped is always nice. If they can beat the Eagles in this form maybe we’re a chance tomorrow.
-
Would go with Baker, Lockhart, T Smith and C Wagner. First three can reasonably be viewed as part of the future. The fourth is mostly a reward for good form.

Decided to have a look at Tom Hawkins’ average stats in 2010 when he was the same age as Weid is now. 1.2 goals vs 1 goal. 12.6 disposals vs 10.3. 5.7 marks vs 4.2. 1.2 contested marks vs 1.4 The picture paints two very comparable players stats wise. Two years later, Hawkins kicked 62 goals and was All Australian. Some patience needs to be shown with Weid. Surely even his harshest critics can see the glimpses of potential. Let him continue to fill out, build his craft, and let’s see what sort of player we have in a couple of years time.
-
Other than that we’re going alright.

Smith dropping the ball cold without being penalised was a fitting way to kill the game. I don’t know if the solution is full time umpires or tougher reprimands for poor performance, but umpiring like that makes a mockery of the sport. The club absolutely must ask for an explanation about the Gawn frees. A disgrace.

Dropped it cold. Fitting that an umpiring howler kills the game. An absolute disgrace. The club should register a please explain. This is meant to be a professional sport.
