Almost fell off my chair when watching 360’s “Real or overreaction” segment and the question popped up on whether or not there was a lineup for Braydon Preuss. Fair to say I never expected Preussy to be a discussion point on one of the main AFL talk shows. Whateley said it was “realish” while going on to say that the “idea“ of Preuss would appeal to some clubs. By which I assume he meant a ready made, physical, old style ruckman, fresh from an apprenticeship under the game’s premier big man. I’d be amazed if we got anything more than a third rounder in total value. That said, if I were one of the Sydney clubs, GWS in particular, I’d be willing to part with a late second.

My favourite moment of the night was when the halfback line of Haynes, Moore and Byrne-Jones was announced, and Riewoldt and Brown had to wax lyrical about how they’d struggle to get a kick playing against such an imposing defence. They’d have had a field day playing on those three.

On ya Wattsy ?

Nic Nat has been the best ruck this year. His influence has been massive. Gawn is vying for a bench spot. To not even select May in the squad is an extraordinary decision. There’s an argument to say he’s been the best KPD for much of the season. Certainly the second half. But when you look at the list of numpties in charge of the selections it’s not much of a surprise: Gillon McLachlan (chairman), Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Steve Hocking, Glen Jakovich, Chris Johnson, Cameron Ling, Matthew Richardson and Warren Tredrea. Enough said really. Richo is the one whose judgement I would trust the most out of that clown show.

Libba’s handballing is on another level.

Watching a [censored] human cotton bud kick goals to end our season. A toast to 2020.

Ah damn. We have hope. The old nemesis.
-
Pretty sure we dont need a live ladder. They win, they play finals. They lose, we play finals. We got the picture.

Fire up Hoges!

Bang!

Oh dear. And the award for the most embarrassing goal celebration goes to...

Dogs look flat considering what’s on the line. If Freo could actually hit a target they’d be a couple of goals up.
-
Freo are playing like Melbourne to try and get Melbourne into the finals. A bold strategy. Let’s see if it works.
-
No Taberner or Walters. Miracle required.
-
Honestly I think it’s a snowball’s chance in hell. Dogs will throw everything at them. But it ain’t over til it’s over. If there’s one thing Freo know how to do it is defend well and stay in games.

Agree with all of this. I don’t think he’s a natural defender at all but defensively speaking he looked more assured today than he has in the past. The quality of opposition has to be factored into that though.

May post match: “I’m in career best form” Yes you are big fella. Yes you are.

Essendon are awful. Carn you Dockers!

Say what you want about Goody. He’s in good physical nick for a bloke his age. Making me feel like a lazy bastard as I nurse my tenth beer.
-
Okay fine. I’ll bite. Yes his radar has been off but that is very correctable. Trac’s goalkicking was lamentable not long ago. Doesn’t look like missing these days. It is largely between the ears. But the main argument against is what would a club cough up for Fritsch? He’s not exactly a name player. He is worth FAR more to us than what we’d get for him at the trade table.
-
Hopefully this convinces those who think Hunt would be best used elsewhere. He is a forward.
-
Nah. Arm slipped high.

Brown has been more than solid. Infinitely better than T Mac.
