  1. You think Watts is on 800K a year?
  2. Who, Watts? He's not even top 5. Top 10, yes.
  3. No, dear god no.
  4. Too early to call long-term value, but right now Wines is so far ahead it doesn't bare thinking. The kid is a star. I'd love to lure him home one day to play alongside his best mate in a partnership that could carry the midfield for 10 years, but fairy tales often don't happen the way you expect. At least PJ has identified player development as priority 1. Toump has some great attributes. He's a raw talent.
  5. I remember when Mitch Clark filled me with hope. Now he just fills my Facebook newsfeed flogging his photography.
  6. Neither here nor there at this point. Opportunity opens up for someone else. My tip is now leaning towards GWS though.
  7. And until a premiership is delivered, what then? Cross your arms and ask, "where's your vision?" Said without having even listened to him in the first place? Real mature approach. Get around the guy for heaven's sake. Of course actions are what matter most, but there's no harm in throwing your support behind him. Some Melbourne supporters just seem [censored] scared of what is the right thing to do these days, as all avenues seem to lead nowhere. The right thing to do is get behind PJ. The club hasn't got much else going for it right now.
  8. Pointing out positive attributes does not equate to designating him as a messiah. It's called showing support for the man in charge of resurrecting your club.
  9. It's also worth noting that the fundamental things you would expect of a football club, Melbourne has not done. PJ has said so himself, and he has a wealth of experience inside professional football clubs to draw upon. So whilst you think it may all sound simple, the club has failed the simplest of tests up until this point. Finally we have an ultimate professional to guide us out of this MESS and you're already poo pooing him. I find your general attitude extraordinary.
  10. No offence jumbo, but you strike me as someone who seems to enjoy wallowing in misery. You've already labelled Craig a disaster and you're naysaying PJ before he's had a chance to warm the seat, What exactly do you want the bloke to say at this stage? Have you even heard him speak? Negativity is going to get us NOWHERE mate. Incidentally, he's not the coach, he's the CEO. The bow you're drawing is a very long one.
  11. You are one strange cat, jumbo. I'm assuming you didn't watch the interview. "Big deal" lol His ultimate vision is to make the MFC great again. He mentioned this several times. To do this, the football club needs to make football its main focus. To put reopurces into player development for the next two years, both on and off the field and go about establishing a strong, lasting footballing culture in the guise of Sydney and Geelong. He acknowledges that the only thing to sell right now is hope, and there needs to be more to sell than that. He has identified a near enough is good enough mentality, and a total lack of understanding what it takes to be a ruthless, professional sporting organisation, and this has permeated through the club. He's here to correct it by setting up an organisational structure filled with the best people he can find with his knowledge of the industry. Big deal.
  12. He can view us as an "it" for all I care. He's assessed the situation and knows what it will take to fix it. There is zero [censored] factor with this guy.
  13. Said he was interested in getting the best people, and felt there had been too much readiness to get Melboume people rather than the best people from outside. Made special mention of decisions to remove leadership out of the locker room that has hurt the club (so refreshing to hear someone state this publicly). Acknowledged the failures in player development, and noted that in the internal reports he had read, there was a sense of purely relying on high draft picks rather than the actual development side.
  14. Lays out the truth in all Its ugliness, and you know everything he says is spot on.
  15. Absolutely gripping viewing. Christ he's an impressive fella.
  16. We can only hope. But turn against golden boy? I can't see that happening.
  17. How is 2 inside 50s even possible in an entire quarter of footy? You'd almost have to be kicking the ball backwards most of the time.... Oh.
  18. I'm just gonna say it. There is an air of [censored] about these impacts on his physical health. He looked and seemed to be carrying himself just fine, and all of a sudden it has become too much for him to handle, health wise? Pretty convenient excuse. The bottom line is that he is fleeing the sinking ship and dressing it up as the best thing for the club and himself. I'm also more than slightly bemused at the Essendon players on twitter, turning Evans into some heroic figure who is the "real victim" in all of this. The man is no martyr, nor is he the real victim. He's resigned in disgrace and has overseen a period where lengthy bans could result for for these players rallying around him. The club has let them down, badly, and Evans was in charge.
  19. Taggert is almost a no brainier inclusion for mine. I've defended Blease on here before but I'm to going to bother this week. Disgraceful. He needs to decide how serious he is about this AFL caper.
  20. We all cling to something or someone as hope for the future mate. We've become experts at it. It would be very Melbourne if the the much hyped partnership of Clark and Dawes never even makes the field. Hopefully it does, and with Hogan it will be formidable. Just need to address the barren wasteland that is the midfield.
  21. Reeling from the loss, Mitch Clark's Facebook offering last night was a photo of his dog chasing bubbles in the backyard... Wouldn't look out of place in a Melbourne jumper.
  22. Today's match rocked me enough to reconsider my view. I genuinely believed that the club might have moved past these TYPES of performances. It was about the scoreline, but moreso it was about the manner in which we lost. Today was almost enough to completely wipe away the belief I had been building up. This one hurt, no doubt about it.
