Absolutely disgraceful by the HS someone from the club (Pert or Green) needs to call this witch hunt out.

Perhaps he’s waiting for next year when Collingwood have a first round draft pick in the top5

Is this demonland’s jumping the shark moment?
-
Didn’t Harrison Petty say he wanted to be closer to family in SA this time last year, and then signed not that long ago for a couple more years? Seemed like they managed to work through that “crisis”

Roo out with a groin injury according to C7

Harris killed us last game. Focus on stopping Vlaustin this week and Tom Stewart next week? Maybe that’s the role they have in mind.

Plus it’s a good way of applying a handicap. Seems like we are the only team amongst the top ranked who get 2 of them. surprised Carlton got 1

As bad as we were last night at least I felt there was effort and pride not to let it become a smashing. Imagine being a dogs supporter.

A couple of times when he has accelerated into a ground ball, grabbed it cleanly, and exited a pack before anyone can touch him (as though time has stopped) reminds me of one of our greatest players.

kudos to 2 of the favourite whipping boys. Seeing Tmac on the backline made me very nervous but watching him really closely at the game I thought he was fantastic. He made great decisions about when to play off and support other defenders and when to lock on one on one. I was expecting a howler or 3 with the ball, but his disposal was as good as any of the other defenders today, taking short and powerful kicks that hit the targets with 83% efficiency (according to the stats). also BBB - presented well, clunked a few, but used his gogogadget arms to get the ball to the ground in pretty much every contest he was involved in. both of them have bigger challenges ahead, but I was shocked we picked both this week after compromised pre-seasons, and I was wrong.

Loving the booing from the gws crowd notable that the commentary team are ignoring the reason for it
-
i heard from a call out volunteer that we are in front of last years' comparative figure by around 1k or so - but given our season starts in 3 days I am not sure whether this is good or bad
-
Speaking of media, why isn’t there a suggestion that the launch of a premiership film by the Pies tonight, a week before the next season starts, a case of over-celebration/ drinking their own bath water?

Getting ready for all the comments about our poor disposal
-
Learning the cost of turnovers when we try and play more quickly and take the game on leaves the defense open (which it hasn’t been for 3 years) good to learn the risk/return and who we don’t want to have the exit disposal now.

at risk of being piled on for being "woke' - sometimes we old blokes forget that some things have changed for the better. I think this is one thing that the buys have learnt from AFLW (how much everyone benefits from a supportive environment). My daughter was a bit of a lost soul in her early teens, particularly being mad on sport, but has absolutely found her tribe and has never been so happy now she is in the AFLW system.

Go stick that culture, Robbo and Warner that felt good!

how about Lynch?

I’m not finding excuses for everything - I just think too many people are having a massive overreaction to tonight’s (and last weeks) disappointment. Premierships are not easy and a lot has to go right. I can see a lot of people are in the anger stage of grief right now and maybe I need to step aside and stop trying to argue against a rant. we have a lot going for us (still).I think there will be a lot of hurt that hopefully propels in 2024 and beyond. having said all that - I think we have butchered a massive opportunity.
-
How about petty and jvr in the forward line. It will make a massive difference. my view was that a lot of things conspired against us in the last weeks of 2022 and 2023. If you would prefer to see us as chokers then fine. We will find out who is right over the coming years.

Let’s see how it looks in 8 more years!!!

God we have some [censored] on this site. Injuries, umpiring, suspensions, and kicking for goal cost us big time. you just have position yourself and hope it goes your way when it counts. it didn’t. if you people think these guys didn’t give all they have just look at the reaction after the game. geelong was I this position for ten years between 2011 and 2022. it really hurts because it felt like we had a massive chance this year - perhaps more than any other in my lifetime (57 years). just got to get there again next year.

At the station with a herd of saints fans. They need a hug.

Really nice to go to a game and see a range of ages and different nationalities decked out in red and blue. Feels like the club is gathering a lot more new supporters - as opposed the the declining number of 50+ year old, homogenous, grumpy, ex private schoolboys in the mcc (of which I am one) that made up most of our 15k of supporters who turned up 10-15 years ago. we did well to hang on I really never saw us being the club we are now. What a joy!

And boy he sinks the knees when he flies at the ball. as exciting as it is now, with he, JVR and Petty in our forward line for years to come (I hope) there will be some nervous opposition intercepting backs
