  1. I don't really get what people expect Sylvia to do each week. He is in our top 2 or 3 players every few games and when he has a poor one he still manages to collect 15 possessions or so. Letting him go would leave a further hole in the midfield of any senior players apart from Nathan Jones. Can we seriously expect Jonesy to carry the midfield anymore than he is atm?
  2. I Thanks for the support! The amount of time I spend on here I should post more often. Yes he did have the urinating incident but dont forget he was reinstated as VC mid season. He won the players and Bailey`s coaching panels respect back. I agree he shouldn`t of been made captain, but not being including in an 8 or 9 people leadership group after being VC not many people could deal with. Neeld puts this down to a vote, but can anyone really drop from VC to nothing if the majority of the same players are on the list. I do like your observation of Gary Ablett but unfortuantely we don`t have a player with that class or leadership skills on our list. The two Jacks might be polished with media roles and outside the game, but if they don`t conribute enough on the field I can`t see how they gain as much respect compared to other AFL Captains.
  3. Long time between posts for me but I do read the page regularly. Despite all of his character flaws Moloney bleed for the read and blue, performed well often comparative to our current list. After priding himself as being a leader within the club he was ousted by the coach effectively meaning I dont give a rats ass about what you have done for this club. Some call this as a good call, but surely a player than has played over 100 games for the club as in and under player, constantly fighting of tags needs to be shown some respect. Respect is a 2 way street and Neeld came in and gave no respect to any of the senior players, hence the fractions. Despite how poor their leadership might have been they always acted in the best interests of the MFC. Within a year under Neeld he was essentially told the game had become too quick for him giving reasons like quicker stoppages e.g. ball up times is affecting Moloney at bounces. An example of confidence destruction under Neeld which a lot of our list are dealing with.........................
  4. The biggest issues are with out structures at stoppages. We are the only team in the afl who when we have a contest on the 50m ark we have no one to kick to up field as an option or even a get out clause along the boundary line. Why is this the case? Only Dean Bailey knows.....................
  5. The main reason Jack Watts went in the draft even though he was just about to finish yr 11 was so that he could stay in Melbourne where he has grown up his whole life. Very little chance of him moving interstate because of this fact.
  6. It really frustrated me today the way we set up our attack at stoppages. We pushed all our forwards up to the contest which meant we had numbers around the ball, but the eagles players dropped off and made us go hanball happy. On the contrary to us, West Coast always had a couple of stationary forwards (Lecras, Kennedy) who meant they didnt have to hold onto the ball
  7. I think everyones being a bit harsh on Newton. He cant be expected to come into the side and kick 4 goals. I was at the game today and when in the forward line he provided a real forward line option. Last week we had Spencer playing his role for the majority of the afternoon. I know who I would prefer. At least Newton has a presence about him today which was pleasing and did provide adequete support in the ruck for Jamar. He needs time to prove himself.
  8. 6. Petterd 5. Grimes 4. Jamar 3. Davey 2. Macdonald 1. Green
  9. Anyway, Jurrah's injury broke my heart as I was waiting for Wana, Watts and Jurrah working off each other in the forward line. I guess we just have to wait a little longer!! Let's just hope it occurs later this year.
  10. 1 spot left in 879577. Its a mfc league
  11. Jurrah has taken up number 24. Stick with it.
  12. [Top 8: Western Bulldogs: Last chance for a flag in this era and I think they are ready. Hawthorn: Team back to full strength and will be hungary for success. Geelong: With not making the GF ppl will be asking is the era over? St Kilda: A solid top 4 finish nothing more. Collingwood: Had key inclusions into their list since last season, but is still not a premiership team. Adelaide: Will be a positive yet once again a slightly dissapointing season for them. Brisbane: I doubt Fev and Brown will make this team a legitimate premership contender, but still they have a strong list. West Coast: Will peform solidly and look to build on end of season form of last year. Bottom 8: Carlton: Will have a strong midfield but will lack a clear forward structure. Essedon: Slip outside the top 8 resulting from the scaring of the 97 point thumping last year. Sydney: The leadership of Kirk and Goodes will not be enough to make the swans finish top 8. Kangaroos: Will need a couple of season to get used to Scott's tactics, yet will have a ruthless approach. Melbourne: Will continue to develop and move marginally up the ladder. Fremantle: Has to focus putting games into kids. Cant rely just on Pav's brilliance. Port Adelaide: A club in dissaray on and off the field. williams' time is up RIchmond: Back to the doldrums where they belong
  13. Any chance of a DT league being open?? Have I league to fill.
  14. Luke Ball got 98 and he is the only person in the last 10 years to get 50 (top in the state) for latin.
  15. no offence, but u have listed our 2009 draftees as ones that will make our forward line unstopapable when it was regarded as one of the worst drafts on record.
  16. He is referring to Luke Ablett. Who is (Nog).
  17. My first post since joining demonland. MFC best 22 to me is: B Junior Warnock J.Mac HB Grimes Frawley Rivers C Morton Sylvia Bruce HF Bate Watts Davey F Austin Jurrah Petterd R Jamar Jones Moloney I Green Scully Trengove Martin Emerg: Garland Dunn Bennell I see Martin's role in this side being that he will play 70% game time with 30% in ruck and 40% in the forward line (30% benchtime). Atm I can't see him being more than a pinch hitting forward whose role is to take the biggest defender and free up Jurrah rather than our permenant one. Also, J Watts is capable of playing chf forward because he will rely on his pace and engine rather than smashing packs open. Miller is not needed.
