  1. I don't think they're BS, I just think that they reflect the inaccuracies and vagaries of injuries and recovery. Every Tuesday they put down a marker and call it an "injury list" - but it's a moveable feast.
  2. He's not getting any younger, maybe this IS top form? We shall see. Agree, when he's playing well, he's an important contributor. But like Garland, perhaps we're starting down the other side of the slope. They're not getting any younger.
  3. I'm not convinced. Old-style full back, stuck in a rapidly evolving game. Game gone past him?
  4. If Wagner goes, he'd need to be replaced with a back: White, Terlich, Garland, O'Mac etc. Suspect at least one player will be out with injury/soreness concerns: mutterings about Wagner (copped a solid hit) and Salem (groin).
  5. Fair enough in some ways. But it's one of the consequences of where we are now: the only way to bring players in who've earned a chance, is to drop players who in many ways, are performing well. Petracca, ANB, probably Matt Jones, Oliver, perhaps Trengove, are all knocking on the door.
  6. Stats (such as they are). These are from a regular, who updates them each week on BF. Can't vouch for the reliability of the source, though they seem around the mark: Garland 19d 15k 4h 7m Grimes 21d 6k 15h 1G Hulett 6d 5k 1h 4G Max King 11d 5k 6h 2g Michie 28d 19k 9h Newton 22d 3k 19h Petracca 26d 11k 15h Stretch 20d 12k 8h Terlich 19d 14k 5h Trengove 30d 14k 16h 2G Weideman 12d 6k 6h 2G White 21d 12k 9h
  7. I can see Petracca coming in for Brayshaw, as they would both be playing forward. Then it would be one of ANB or Oliver for Harmes. Hard to see any other changes, unless forced ones. The 6 day turnaround could be demanding for some.
  8. Speech to text never works well after a half a bottle of red.
  9. Vince due for another week? Hopefully that elbow missed. Love the agression and intent, but he needs to reign it in. Or disguise it better.
  10. Great stuff. Max Gawn, after all these years, we have an A-grade ruck, and what a difference it makes. But ... on the basis of a half of footy, Petracca or Trengove for Harmes next week. On the other hand, really like Hunt. Smart footballer, we could use a few of those.
  11. Lynden Dunn. No longer feels part of where the team is heading, or the way it's playing.
  12. Think they'll give Trengove another week before considering him. He's missed a lot of footy, and the previous week's miss through concussion didn't help.
  13. Yes. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/features/partner-mother-breadwinner-the-changing-face-of-families/story-e6frg8h6-1227007577339
  14. Jones was definitely injured last weekend, and this move has been flagged all week.
  15. Petracca won't play if Garlett gets up, which he probably will. Nor ANB, but they'll take ANB as emergency. Final listed bench: Pedersen, Hunt, Kennedy, Garlett Emergency: ANB
  16. “... if Jeff is unable to get through tomorrow's main session, Christian will be a chance to debut."
  17. It's only the lack of a credible replacement that's keeping him in the team. He's been serviceable, but nothing more, and increasingly, his old fashioned, bullocking, man-on-man defending is being found out by modern football/ers. Will be interesting to see if he manages to keep his place for the rest of the season.
  18. There has been talk that Matt Jones may have an injury concern - ribs? Apparently he only walked laps at training. Could be a candidate. I don't know that I'd be dropping Hunt quite yet. I feel that he's worth persevering with, as he has that real outside speed that not many (or even any) of our other players provide, especially coming off half-back or through the middle.
  19. Wagner is too old for the Rising Star, by about 5 weeks. Turned 21 in November.
  20. Agree that Brayshaw looked a bit underdone today - though that heavy knock can't have helped. But if he can get through a match, he's too creative a player to have running round at Casey. There's no room for them/would be hard to bring them in, but Grimes and Garland didn't do their call-up chances any harm at Casey.
  21. Stats (disposals/marks/goals). Some interesting numbers: Garland 25d 6mHulett 9d 2gGrimes 34d 8m 2gJ.Smith 15d 3m 1GMax.King 12d 4m McDonald 0 - got knocked outMichie 38d 5mNB 23d 4m 3gNewton 11d 4mPattison 25d 6mPetracca 34d 11m 2gTerlich 41d 12m 2Trengove 25d 4m 2gWeideman 12d 9m 3gWhite 21d 6m 2g
  22. And to think, we could have gone close to being 4 0. Oh well, live and learn, and while the overall direction is onwards and upwards, hard to complain.
  23. Credit to our drafting team, Wagner, Bugg and Kennedy all very useful pickups - but all the youngsters are turning out well. Probably best game yet from Harmes, but we're starting to develop some real depth and selection headaches. Who do you drop from that to bring in Vince and Garlett - not to mention ANB who surely must be on the cusp after another solid performance? Petracca and Trengove ... back of the queue gents.
