Who wrote them off? Boak is young and a gun. Nothing guarantees Blease or Gysberts will be as good, so I'd do a straight up swap in a heartbeat. Trading Brad Green for Gary Ablett doesn't mean you've written Green off.

E25 is right, that's what I meant. Surely a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush? Gysberts and Blease might come on, but the most we could hope for is that they'd be as good as Boak. I'd trade one of them for him in a heartbeat. They may turn into superstars one day, but that's a big IF and Boak is on the cusp of elite.

Im happy with our tall defenders; our tall forwards look promising with Watts, Morton, Petterd, Bate, Jurrah; rucks will take time to develop but I think we have the cattle and Jamar is good now; we can never have too many gun mids, but I think we have sufficient stocks to develop; small-mid forwards we have a plethora of in Jetta, Wona, Maric, Bennell, Tapscott, Green ; small-mid defenders we have... Cheney? Joel Mac? Bruce? Bennell? This area doesn't fill me with confidence.

The only glaring weakness I can see on our list is a pacy defender to play on blokes like Cyril Rioli. Even then, Garland is capable of doing it, but I'd really like a Harbrow type. Not that they are all that common.

I'm happy Joel Mac got dropped. He's filler at the moment and will be a list clogger soon.

Martin needs to grow as a player. Even if PJ is not a long term option, I'm not sure it does Martin's development any good if he plays purely because we have no one else. He needs to go back and re-earn his spot.
