Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
dees189227 replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I seriously thought today that because its the golden boy then the judge would find that asada did the wrong thing. So when I checked my phone today in my break and saw the headline I laughed. Then I laughed again when I saw the golden boy and Little walk out of court. The funniest thing is they have to pay ASADAS legal fees as well. Imagine the cost if they appeal, which would be a waste of time. Then next thing they will be hassling the members for money. -
i also wonder how much roosy spoke about simon with bomber when they did there monday night slots on afl 360. roosy also said he spoke to about 20 candidates. I wonder who else they sussed out.

I think its great we finally have a 5 year + plan for this club. No more speculation on this senior assistant, its done and now we have some stability. Now hopefully we can attract some players to the club when they see what the future is. im not worried about asada business. Goodwin was cleared. im sure PJ and rossy would have grilled him on that and it sounds like he was honest. Goodwin is probably secretly relieved to be gone from essendon. I trust roosy and when he said he got a good vibe after 1 meeting then im confident we are onto a good thing. well it looks like bernie will hang around. He is rapt to have goodwin. its also good to see our president in front of the media. I wouldn't have had a clue what he looked liked. But I also like this comment from simon. Goodwin: I learned a lot (at Essendon) but I'm now a Melbourne person and that's what I want to be.

wow that many members already.

im going to ask a really dumb question but who were the recruiting people back in 2012 when we chose the toump? Was it Todd because he obviously had Ollie under his nose and known how good he was. Did he get over ruled by Neeld who saw something in Toumpas and wanted him.
-
wow 2 years ago port were a rabble. Just goes to show you get the right people in and things can change quickly. Port have now played in back to back finals and are playing for a shot to play in the granny next week.
-
the funny thing is this week they did a best under 22 team and didnt pick Wines. Last night was the first time I looked at wines and thought geez I wish he was ours. So far I have thought give the kid Toump a go but and i hope im wrong but he wont impact games the way Ollie is.
-
well now that the cats are out this week frawley should come out and say he is going. we all know he is.

i wanted geelong to get a goal and go into extra time, but I would have laughed if nth managed to lose that. Wow never thought it would be a sydney nth prelim. But Hawkins hammered thompson tonight. buddy or Tippett will monster thompson next week. He just got well beaten. Lindsay thomas is there any chance one day you will get off the ground pick yourself up and not have your arms stretched out wide complaining to the umpire. I have never ever seen someone whine so much. Yes admittedly he could have got some frees but when he whinges and dives of course the umps arnt going to pay it.
-
seriously you would just want to hit boomer harvey wouldnt you. when he was having a go at hawkins, hawkins if he wanted to would just flatten him. geelong are playing woefully. They are missing targets, fumbling and turning it over.

The Nathan Jones appreciation thread
dees189227 replied to Bleeds_Red_&_Blue's topic in Melbourne Demons
if he leaves the club i will be shocked and wont recover. -
i have changed my mind about Mitch. if I got hit with depression and im not sure if the vibe around the club contributed to it and the same thing happened at my workplace why would I want to go back there. I dont care if mitch goes to hawthorn stkilda or another victorian club but please dont go to the bombers. I couldnt handle it.

http://mfcdemonblog.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/lolmfc-fistedforever-files.html?m=1 Just came across this on the internet. Forgot about some of the things that have happened. Reading the past 7 years is really depressing.

Well Roosy is on 360 so I'm guessing he will get asked a lot of questions.

Tom Browne @TomBrowne7 10m See more from @mitchjclark on @Talking_Footy7 #7mate 730

half agree. But if he did stay in perth and played for a WA team then it wouldnt bother me because I presumed he was back in Perth permanently. I thought Freo would make sense because they need a forward to help pav, but if he was end up at a melbourne club id be angry
-
I suspected he was always going to come back into the AFL system but just presumed it would be with a WA team. Its good to see he is in a good head space and depression is horrible but I wont help feeling a little shattered if he ends up at another melbourne club. I thought he wanted to be back in perth amongst family.

the only time ive cheered when Lindsay Thomas got a free for ducking the head. I thought essendon were going to run away with it. Daniher was cutting them up and Petrie was useless until the final 10 minutes. Brilliant 2 goals. So happy to see them out. Now Bomber can just walk away and say to hirdy its all yours. if you want something funny to read head over to bomberblitz

i thought the same thing, but maybe we have under estimated how good Jones really is. But at least now we know we have a decent captain in charge.

2014 Melbourne best and fairest results 1 – Winner: Keith ‘Bluey’ Truscott Memorial Trophy – Nathan Jones (311 votes) The tenacious ball-winner was Melbourne’s best in 2014. Jones cracked the 600-disposal milestone for the first time and averaged almost 28 disposals per match. He once again played every match, continuing his remarkable resilience. 2 – Second: Sid Anderson Memorial Trophy – Dom Tyson (293) The first-year Demon and ex-Giant entered 2014 with a handful of matches to his name, and by the season’s end was one of Melbourne’s best players. He showed maturity beyond his 21 years and was an outstanding recruit for the club. 3 – Third: Ron Barassi Snr Memorial Trophy – Bernie Vince (270) The former Crow had a fine first-up season in the red and blue and proved to be a valuable acquisition. Vince’s third placing was his second best result in a club best and fairest since he won the award with Adelaide in 2009. 4 – Fourth: Ivor Warne-Smith Memorial Trophy – Lynden Dunn (264) His ninth AFL season was his finest, as he became one of the top defenders in the competition. Dunn was a highly consistent performer across 2014 and he was duly rewarded with his best result in a Melbourne best and fairest count. 5 – Fifth: Dick Taylor Memorial Trophy – Daniel Cross (238) Despite missing five matches from rounds 15 to 19 with a fractured leg, Cross managed to produce a top first season with Melbourne. Had injury not struck, he may have claimed his seventh top three placing in a club best and fairest. 6 – Jeremy Howe (220) Played every match in 2014 and transformed into an impressive defender, after making the switch from attack early in the year. Howe’s rebound and drive out of defence was a highlight, as was his durability – he played every match in 2014. 7 – Tom McDonald (212) Still only 21 years old, the key defender had another strong season and took on greater responsibility down back, with James Frawley spending a large portion of the year in attack. McDonald remains a fine long-term player for the club. 8 – James Frawley (192) The All-Australian defender played in attack for much of the year to help cover the absence of Mitch Clark and Jesse Hogan. Frawley played some fine matches in his unfamiliar role and took the most Melbourne marks for the season (156). 9 – Neville Jetta (191) Revived his career and became one of the top stories of the season, after being delisted by the club at the end of the 2013 season. Started 2014 as a rookie and by the season’s end was an important member of the team as a defender. 10 – Jack Watts (185) Played every match in 2014, achieved career-best numbers in several statistics, including disposals and arguably had his most consistent season. Watts’ durability was once again a feature of his game. 11 – Jack Viney (180) 12 – Rohan Bail (139) 13 – Matt Jones (129) 14 – Jack Grimes (124) 15 – Cameron Pedersen (118) 16 – Chris Dawes (113) 17 – Mark Jamar (109) 18 – Dean Terlich (96) 19 – Colin Garland (95) 20 – Dean Kent (64) 21 – Jay Kennedy-Harris (56) 22 – Jordie McKenzie, Max Gawn (49) 24 – Jake Spencer (36) 25 – Alex Georgiou (34) 26 – Aidan Riley (30) 27 – Christian Salem (27) 28 – Viv Michie (22) 29 – Shannon Byrnes (18) 30 – Jimmy Toumpas (17) 31 – Jack Fitzpatrick (12) 32 – Jack Trengove, Luke Tapscott (8) 34 – Dom Barry (3) 35 – Daniel Nicholson, Michael Evans, Sam Blease (0) bit harsh on nicho evans and blease that they put up on the website they never got a vote. Jack Viney 11 that surprises me.
