  1. It all depends though. If packaged with pick 8ish in exchange for Hannebury (or someone that good) he is less required
  2. I might be tempted to suggest we are a chance if it weren't for the fact now, if you include Tyson, Petracca and Trengove, we are missing 7 of our best 22 - and as we all now too well that once you are getting to 29th best on our list you are fielding some very homely footballers. How friggin annoying that we were almost cherry ripe for round 1 and now we are rather decimated.
  3. What an insane comment. What if you or someone you're with is being assaulted/sexually attacked/robbed on the street? Oh I guess there IS a situation where it is acceptable to hit someone. What this moron did put himself in a position where his victim was absolutely in his rights to stand up for himself. As many have said, it's a shame he didn't get knocked out cold because that what morons like him deserve. Why would anyone be going in to bat for this character, it is mind-boggling. Here's how to not get a hard shove from a former footballer - don't get in his face with intimidating, stupid behaviour and you'll be fine.
  4. I agree that he is the most valuable asset in the comp. If every team just reset their lists and there was some sort of ultradraft, he would go at #1. It's hard to believe he's ours. I hate jumping the gun with grandiose statements but how can you argue with what we have seen on the field? Imagine him in about 8 years time when he is in his prime FMD
  5. I lose every single time I bet, so I will do everyone a favour and not back the dees
  6. Unless of course we got a high draft pick for Howe and then package it in some way to get a big fish from somebody else - like we tried to do with Trengove last year, there is no what we wanted pick 12 (or whatever it was) to actually use in the draft, it was for Dangerfield or Kennedy as was speculated, I believe it. I reckon roos will have another crack at a similar move this year, and if Howe becomes a pawn in that game I am all for it
  7. Don't forget Tyson and Hogan I would have made a similar comment to Kali prior to the Roos era but it certainly looks like we are a different club in this area than we used to be Hogan and Brayshaw, you couldn't ask for more from their first 3 games, which is giving me renewed faith in our ability to draft and develop Which is absolutely awesome Long story short, if Howe goes i'll be cool with it, we have totally nailed our drafting and trading the last 2 years and you can see the result of it when you look at our teamsheet
  8. Can't believe how long we are.. but I guess we were paying 9.50 last week and could well have won it
  9. I'm starting to get confident also Dawes, Hogan, Watts, Garlett and Kent have contributed just 16 goals between them in rds 1-3, with many missed chances between them Sooner or later they will get it together as a group and get us that winning score that eludes us
  10. can anyone enlighten me as to whether the order of the named interchange (over the first 3 rounds) has been indicative of who the sub ends up being?
  11. can't remember, I don't think he was all that popular even after this game
  12. got another one for you: last time someone kicked a bag of 5 or more rd 20, 2012 (sam blease, 5 goals vs st kilda at the MCG) 50 game streak edit last time someone kicked a bag of 6 or more rd 22, 2007 (russell robertson, 6 goals vs carlton at the MCG) 157 game streak
  13. I saw that too and thought it was absolutely hilarious, 3-gamer getting control of the captain
  14. Agreed, I think there will be a significant difference psychologically between being 1-3 and 2-2. Big game.
  15. Another perfect example of the type of thing Watts gets criticised for but for every other player in the side, it doesn't even get mentioned All of a sudden being a hotheaded chimp and going in for some jumper punches is a quality that is so important it turns games Give us a break please
  16. everything you say might be spot on but it is irrelevant as we are only discussing that one particular incident IMO he made the correct call having had identified Hogan streaming towards him Had he gone for the contested mark he simply would not have taken it and then not be in the correct position to gather the crumbs and dish off
  17. Agreed. Far too often you read comments on here that have obviously been influenced by the commentary of the game. It is not uncommon to read verbatim quotes being passed off as one's original thoughts. I felt exactly the same as you, he knew there was no chance he was going to be able to get into a position to grab the mark against two opponents who had front position, so he used his best asset, which is his brain, and made the decision to do what he did.. and it worked. 90% of the ppl bashing him would never even noticed had anti-MFC biased blockhead idiot Ricuitto not made a snide, inaccurate comment afterwards. He did the same thing when Watts dropped that mark, yes it cost as a goal, but MR then when on to directly blame Watts for the goal that came after that, despite it having absolutely nothing to do with him. That was obviously absorbed by demonland's finest too. I can't believe Watts was named in the AFL team of the week round 1, he was genuinely 2nd BOG after TMac, yet it apparently earned him precisely zero credits on this board. Most unfairly bashed player in the comp IMO
  18. "and I don't know what I was thinking, reading the whole thread to the team as my pre-game address"
  19. yes, you are wrong we were one of the worst sides ever 2 years ago it is reasonable to expect not to beat every team but to work our way back to playing respectable footy and at least being competitive first otherwise you're living in a dreamworld
  20. I get the feeling we will be seeing up and downs all year, like the GWS second half downer... screws with our emotions and expectations still, I'll take ups and downs as opposed to just downs like recent years
  21. hhaha you don't see too many Angela Lansbury gifs these days
  22. i did admit to being wrong re the rd1 selection of Brayshaw. I wasnt wrong about anythig re vince. youre a liar and a troll just because I hate you for it and reckon you are the worst bloke on thi site, I am going to teach you a lesson and i am never going to let you say anything good about anything that happens this year without reminding you that you told all of us to 'pencil us in mate' the same goes for you other gutless trolls who I will be carefully monitoring every word posted you should be more careful like wiseblood and be sure you carefully word every post to ensure you don't risk putting anything on the line ever. It's gutless but its safer
  23. I thought we were fantastic. Losing is never good but gee I was happy after that one. Just needed a few breaks and we would have rolled a great side on their home turf. For about 100 of the 120 minutes I thought we were the better side. If Roos can get them to play like that every week we will get plenty of scalps this year
