  1. umm the overwhelming reason people tuned in what TO SEE WHAT PLAYERS THEIR CLUB HAS GOT they managed to completely stuff that part of it up which is about as fail as you can get, simple as that not a FOX employee by any chance are you?
  2. Gawn with the wind 'wind' i guess
  3. well the moment was kinda ruined for me with the awkward process/interviews of sculgove, and the fact i was shocked with the following picks and the fact the coverage was so damn frustrating to watch anticlimax to say the least
  4. Pickering lost me immediately with his 'oh no I'm not nervous' as in 'no chance i'm way too awesome for that' you could tell that woman was there asking stupid questions to the families because they thought 'hey we better make sure this program has an appeal to the mothers out there that might be watching' yeah well guess what dheads the mothers that are watching are watching because they are interested in football not because they want to know how scully's old girl feels about him paying his phone bill /end rant
  5. heard of a bloke named Brent Moloney? Senior midfielder? 2nd in the B+F? Lifelong demon? Renowned clubman and mentor? why does this bloke get overlooked so often
  6. Just say this bloke has it exactly right, and somebody takes Ball early, we just need 2 others to put in a bit of a smokey pick, or 'pick for needs' and Butcher could slide right over... could definitely happen
  7. Nope. Maybe in the old days but contemporary AFL recruitment has it all sorted out. Here's the last dozen top2ers: Watts, Naitanui, Krueuzer, Cotchin, Gibbs, Gumbleton, Murphy, Thomas, Delidio, Roughead, Cooney, Walker Not too much wrong with that group at all, in fact most of them are deadset guns ...and so it will be with SCULGOVE, and that's why Dean Bailey has done what he's done 11 and 18 are a different story and beyond that a lottery
  8. well to be fair only 14% have tipped a finals berth, and that includes a few heroes who are just too hardcore to let a poll tell them what to do and be honest you'd have to say 11th is about the average... which is 9.4 wins on average the last 5 years (8,10,10,9,10) the other thread has the overwhelmingly majority saying 7-10 wins I don't think these numbers are getting too carried away when you consider we won 4 last year but lost 5 matches by 3 goals or less, had some bad injury luck and this year a better fixture with some new talent coming in and a host of young guns (and a young coach) bound to improve, not to mention our intent to win might be a little higher if you know what I mean
  9. when i go through it like that i actually end up with several more wins than i thought originally... am i dreamin'? Our fixture is pretty darn good I reckon im tipping a huge % of win for the rd12 clash on this poll! there's a problem with the poll though - it demands an option for the last 2 rounds bit, if you dont tick either of the boxes it refuses to count your vote
  10. Melbourne's biggest loss last year was 66 points NINE other sides suffered bigger losses at some stage including a 117 point loss by Freo losses by 50+ points in 2009: mel 6 rich 6 port 6 freo 5 north 3 coll 3 ess 3 car 3 haw 2 syd 2 wc 2 bris 2 ade 1 total: 44
  11. by naming a ladder position you are saying 'how many sides will be worse/better than us' which is a more accurate gauge of our standing in the competition
  12. Yeah and its usually worth 11th or 12th which is what you voted for I assume Not a big mental stretch
  13. also the Bombers lost McPhee for nothing, we were very very lucky of course it all depends on what pick 11 becomes
  14. i'll probably cry if we end up on 4-5 wins again next year extremely important year for the football club, if we don't move forward it will be a disaster
  15. you know strangely there is actually a relationship between games won and ladder position. They aren't mutually exclusive entities. Get this: the more you win the higher you finish. You might even be able to make a guess where a side will finish on the ladder with a given amount of wins if you really think about it
  16. that's the spirit! as long as it doesn't end up a Collingwood Cloke situation
  17. yeah whatever dhead we are going to have a culture of elite players in Morton, Grimes, Scully, Watts, Trengove and Jurrah, matchwinners every one of them, as a result of our 3 bad years and you wouldn't find a single supporter that would give any of them back you lot will be our beeyatches from 2012-2017 especially after you get zero talent from the next three drafts its going to be fun
  18. Daniel Rich - rated top 3, went at 7, ended up no.1 = slider
  19. does he have a gun brother at our club or what
  20. none whatsoever IMO i'm sure he'd be grateful for giving the kid a chance in the first place
  21. surely there couldnt be another name worth taking at 50 in this particular draft. Remember we know that he is up in the highest bracket in terms of athletic ability and also is rated a 'top bloke' with leadership skills like Grimes I. Does anyone have a clue if he is actually likely to be snapped up before then? I would have preferred him to tank the draft camp myself!
  22. I'm a romantic and I want this kid at the club. Many of you will say his name and his allegiance should have no bearing on whether we take him or not but I am prepared to risk burning a pick on a potential spud for what the upside could be. He doesn't seem all that highly rated so there should be no trouble taking him at 34 or maybe even 50. In fact if he is there at 50 and we take someone else I'll be furious. Thoughts?
