  1. i stand corrected http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-midfielder-jack-trengove-faces-afl-appeals-board/story-fn8lichg-1226054757252 "The board deliberated for six minutes"
  2. I think you are completely right, and that is the fundamental motivation behind the constant softening of the game.. again, like everything in life, it is all about money, it is all about greed. They have tainted the game against the wishes of its supporters because they just want more. They paint in the guise of 'we need to compete with other codes' when any idiot can see that it is absolutely flourishing and is under no threat whatsoever: Memberships last year were 756,717 and attendances were 7,193,366, not to mention the lucrative sponsorship, TV rights and merchandise takings, they are making insane profits. They can't even make an exception when the entire community condemns their decisions openly. BOOOO
  3. LOL the article just changed: The club will consider its options further on Wednesday morning before the 11am deadline. The club will consider its options further on Wednesday morning before the noon deadline.
  4. only thing ill say (has probably been said in the pages i cannot fathom reading) is that I saw a glimpse of some show with Darcy and Hall being very openly disrespectful of the decision and what it means for the greater good of the game. Of course Hall had a big decision overuled that allowed him to play in an ultimately successful grand final, so it is a pertinent discussion for him.
  5. Roos has been doing everything different to his predecessors His predecessors were fond of sitting on your hands and not standing up for what's right in situations like this.
  6. i've noticed every clown that doesn't even know the rules of the game and attends one game per year pledges their allegiance to Collingwood or Essendon if someone claims to barrack for Melbourne, North, Doggies or the Saints you know that have some sort of clue and some sort of passion
  7. and his general presence revving everyone up all night, feel like it is something that has been missing since Neita left!
  8. who the hell cares don't make me list all of our 'nominees' who ended up doing absolutely f-all for the football club pointless rubbish
  9. when did a 1-hour plane flight become an excuse to lose the next match
  10. as we have all realised for a long time, the far and away most effective way to get bums on sits is to play competitive footy and actually get a scalp or two.. now that we have finally done that we should see a good turnout, i'm tipping there will be a LOT of hard-boiled jaded types attending their first live game of the season
  11. thought this was going to be a complaint about how Podsiadly gets 45 seconds to take his shot on goal but tommy mac gets 10 seconds at best when he receives a chip in the back pocket
  12. there was one against terlich, last qtr at half back, cost us a critical goal a couple of touches later, it was a pathetic call
  13. there were also sprinklings of votes for m.jones, watts, tommy mac, cross, howe, pedo and dunn.. only one or two votes each though
  14. couldn't help it again accurate tally for this week for anyone who cares: dawes - 408 viney - 290 tyson - 270 jkh - 246 vince - 242 jetta - 167 jamar - 81 grimes - 76 terlich - 56 bail - 43
  15. yes I am saying that you condescending clown, it used to be maybe one dodgy LBW decision in a 5 day match, now that doesn't even exist due to techonology/review systems, so yea, there is pretty much no umpire influence in cricket. It is certainly not in the same universe as AFL. but of course you know that, it is very obvious, which means you are more interested in arguing than you are in actually being correct about anything and the moment that is clear i cease conversation with the poster in question. TW have you noticed that nobo9dy else in this thread agrees with you? does that give you a hint? goodbye.
  16. that is also completely incorrect watch a game of tennis, golf or cricket, there is almost no umpire result on the outcome i have watched the replay since and we seriously got a dodgy call on about 14 occasions, that is a 3-4 goal advantage easily, in a game where only 20 were kicked.. why do we keep tolerating this rubbish
  17. what if that person was a brain surgeon who dabbles in rocket science he still might have that opinion. That's why it is called an opinion. Duh. he might not think Jetta was in the best 6 either but he's an arseload smarter than you or chook
  18. that is crazy talk sloane hits the post = everything's fine no problem ump sloane kicks it = let's kick up a fuss ridiculous, illogical position to take on the issue
  19. i agree, it is there for all to see, here is an incorrect application of the rules, it nearly cost us a game, it is totally unfair, what are you, as an organization going to do to prevent it from happening again? why in the namge of god would we nt do such a sensible course of action in response to this recurring injustice btw it is not like the crows come to the MCG to play us and the same thing happens, it is a one way street and it has been happening forever and i am sick to effing death of it
  20. because we were a kick away from losing it and it would have been completely due to a horrible performance from the maggots next time we go over there we might lose by 3 points instead of win and lets see how flippant you are then
