  1. I'm only half serious But you lot with your 'it's only footy' must be having a laugh. Representing the MFC in the AFL is no trivial matter. Particularly if youe are captain of the side looking at 3 best and fairests on the trot. Footy is important. That's why you lot are on this site every day. Let's not pretend Nathan Jones is in the same boat as you cubicle warriors and your midlle management paper shuffling gigs
  2. They do love a bit of that don't they
  3. why does everyone here have such a fascination with this bloke I couldn't care less what he writes, positive or negative
  4. LOL at these type of comments that pop up now and then i'm tipping undeeterred's job doesn't pay 500K a year and he doesn't have 35,000 people depending on him.. and is probably not in contention for the Brownlow medal.. and is probably not the captain of his organisation bit silly isn't it to compare Nathan Jones to you or I's pedestrian existence isn't it?
  5. Riccuito (15 minutes in last week): "you just wonder how long Roosy will persist with Howe back there, you just that he is much more value to the side as a forward than a defender" good one DH thats why you get the big bucks
  6. Isn't it interesting that there is a subplot at Sydney to do with player payments, on the back of the Buddy/Tippet salary cap absorption and that our man has strong Sydney connections very good chance to snatch somebody
  7. It could be the fact we have finished in the bottom 4 or 5 for seven consecutive years
  8. 'his standing as a person' are you sure you didn't make that up for effect maybe 1 or 2 people said something like that, for everyone else, your argument is absurd
  9. if you look at the figures we actually shape up well compared to most clubs when you look at attendances/memberships in good years vs bad years we've finished 14, 16, 16, 12, 13, 16, 17 in the last 7 years I would like to see Collingwood and Hawthorn's numbers after a period like that
  10. would love to know if Roos gave the 1 vote to Viney or Watts
  11. it was a clearly stupid comment. He has made a difference worthy of being in our best players on 4 or 5 occasions which is a great return for any player. Probably about 6th or 7th for the bluey at the mo
  12. wow, with Jones 4th in total disposals.. how long has it been since we have had blokes leading the comp in these stats, I remeber Yze being the no.1 kick getter at one point
  13. oh right missed that.. end of next year.. still, this time around we need to go for a bonafide KPF in my opinion, and I'll reckon we'll get the best available with the right people selling the right story
  14. agreed. I reckon the club would have been chuffed to get to keep him for QB, personally. As I said before the hearing I have a sneaking suspicion that the AFL knows Dawes @ QB with the way we are going is worth some gate money and general marketing value and that's why he only got one week. Again, there is no important principle to be argued here as there was for viney. As many have said, let him have a rest, miss a game we will surely lose, and be ripe for QB. The smart move.
  15. yes I have been thinking the same.. Roos has already turned some 'also-rans' into value, what might we see from these early-second-round eternal underachievers in Strauss, McKenzie, Tapscott and Blease?
  16. Scully is the crazy one for me.. million a year to be literally outside the top 100 midfielders in the game, crazy stuff
  17. and he wasn't pick 1 with a freak of nature novelty player going at 2
  18. we didnt bend over for Viney but as I said this is different gotta pick your battles
  19. That's true to an extent, but we still have to bring compensation to the table - i reckon we will finish about 11th, and have pick 7 or so, if Frawley goes that means + pick 8 (doesn't it?) which is a package that can possibly net a real quality asset from someone. However, I wouldn't be looking for a midfielder, i think we have greater need in the key forward department. I can't invest too much in Hogan at this stage. I reckon Roosy will be looking for a genuine seasoned sit-inside-50-and-clunk-big-marks-goalkicker to directly replace mitch clark. That's the key thing we are missing.
  20. these days all sorts of things are happening.. every interseason trading period we see 2 or 3 players you would have thought 'untouchable' moving around, and we have a strong case, the master himself in the coaches box, playing at the home of footy, oozing young talent.. never say 'never'
  21. mate Viney just got off as the second successful appeal in 15 outings, he won't get off and it will cost us QB which would suck hard. The statement of on appeal is not the same as the viney incident either, that was all about the nature of the game itself and a kid being punished for playing with some balls.. this was a clumsy, probably somewhat intentional indiscretion
  22. Roos is clearly in the mindset of making as few unforced changes as possible - however, Jetta lost his spot through illness, he had earned that spot and deserves it back don't know why everyone wants to drop Salem and Toomp though, I would have thought pigdog would be the appropriate victim
  23. agreed we have only been officially good for 3 weeks
  24. dammit 2032 draft would have been nice
