  1. must have missed it, couldn't have been very clear
  2. I reckon he'll be back. Clearly he is already contemplating it on some level.
  3. again the obvious query - legit source or just whistlin' dixie out your keister ?
  4. about 10 years ago when I started reading footy forums, I did not laugh at these type of posts 8 million times later it has not increased in comedic value
  5. somtimes when you hit post it doesn't return you to the thread, looks like it hasn't worked.. if you hit send again it posts it twice
  6. last 4 weeks our average score is 80.. Collingwood's season average is 91... furthermore, extracting the WC loss shows our season average points against is 81 essentially what I'm saying is that our percentage on recent form is close to even (100%) and the Pies are only a goal or so above average in terms of their scoring power those numbers suggest a very tight one can we kick around 13 goals? Dawes is in for a huge, huge day
  7. I think it has to be recognised that we may well be out of business had the AFL not stepped in and FORCED us to get our S together, they way they did this was by engineering the PJ-Roos appointments. It was a pretty extraordinary ting for them to do really. I wonder if billy2803 is correct in saying that if we hadn't gone through the tanking saga we wouldn't have hit the absolute rock bottom that we did, and maybe those extraordinary actions by the AFL would never have occurred. I have certainly learnty in life that bad things happen (you lose your job, a woman leaves you, whatever) and it sucks like hell but sometimes, years down the track you realise that it was something you needed to happen and worked out best for you. still doesn't excuse the actions of OTC and McLean, there used to be a time when the footy world (media, former players etc) would act as a unit and support each other, for the gneral good of the game, not apply the blowtorch like those p-icks did
  8. HSBC found to be complicit in enabling drug cartels and terrorists to launder billions of dollars through their banks - no charges laid Lovely world we live in isn't it
  9. we should boycott that effing show they threw us under the bus big time with dhead McLean, did massive damage to the club
  10. just watched the last qtr again.. gee we were stiff to lose that.. 4 behinds at the start of the term, couple of bad errors, couple of lucky things went port's way, couple of bad calls, few of ours went missing.. absolutely everything went against us in the last 8:40 of game time
  11. we can't beat North. It is some sort of law that was declared years ago and under no circumstances can we get them
  12. don't tell people what to talk about, it is one thing to carp on about oliver wines endlessly, but in this threadwe are discussing the possibility that we will regain a genuine coleman medal type forward and one of the very best I have seen in red and blue in the last decade. Having him back is worth about 6 spots on next year's ladder! It is worth discussing, if you are not interested, we do not need to know that you are not interested BTW if you are suggesting that MC going to another club after this is fine and dandy i will take extreme issue with that
  13. yeah I wondered that also... Jetta took the toss but you would imagine he had orders from Jonesy?
  14. Yep has to be a complete change in mindset just knowing you have Roos in control instead of a muppet behind the wheel
  15. good point we also have no control over whether we can beat Collingwood next week, so there is no point discussing that either might as well just shut down the forum or restrict all conversation to things that have already happened
  16. if that happens it will be an an unspeakable act of betrayal and injustice
  17. Surely this season is a perfect showcase of the value of a good coach - our improvement has been massively bolstered by the import of Cross, Tyson and Vince, but obviously they are recruits that are the direct result of Roos' involvement. Apart from that, our general attitude, our ability to play to a plan/structure and a number of pre-existing players that have stepped up, it's all Roos.
  18. I don't see a negative side at all, the group is similar to we the supporters, emotionally speaking, in that it is all very exciting and positive just to be taking it up to nearly everybody given we spent years not even looking like we deserved to be an AFL side. Sure you would prefer the 4 points but my position is that I really don't care what the win/loss is at the moment, next year losing a number of close ones will probably be the difference between playing finals and not, that is a different story. All these close losses do for this season is improve our draft pick, which might be a double win if we get a compo pick for Frawley
  19. FYI, AFL fantasy rankings 1.N.Jones 2.Tyson 3.Vince 4.Cross 5.M.Jones 6.Bail 7.Dunn 8.Watts 9.Frawley 10.Pederson
  20. The only thing I have had my reservations about was thinking back to 2010/2011 when things were starting to look good - obviously that was a tree that ended up bearing absolutely no fruit.. I have had it in the back of my mind that this apparent turnaroubd could end up similarly. BUT every week for about the last 6 has continued to erase that worry bit by bit, there are no signs that what is happening at the club is some sort of 'flash in the pan' resurgence, they are playing commited, consistent, disciplined footy week after week. Yesterdy we were down 25-0 and Dermie was suggesting it might be 50-0 at quarter time, he had a right to say that because that's what would have happened to us in that situation in any game between 2008-2013. Instead they dominated the next 3 quarters of footy from that point. It feels a lot more genuine and substantive than it did a few years back, and apart from Cross and Jamar, everyone in our 22 is 28 or younger, individual improvements are going to be big from here on. Furthermore, at R1 next year we will be looking at at Trengove, Hogan, one or two other decent names that Roos will undoubtedly procure in the trade period and who knows, Mitch Clark (!?).
