  1. They better come out breathing fire. With all the talent on our list I couldn’t stomach another lukewarm performance . We’ve seen two in 5 games so far where we weren’t switched on from the start and it really cost us.
  2. Learnings from this game is that we might start playing form players ahead of reputation or gifting games to guys like Tomlinson, Melksham and TMac We might now need to use Disco Turner, Bill Laurie ahead of them. Gawn will most be likely replace Tom next week if fit.
  3. Gawn and Levers leadership can’t be underestimated, but we just didn’t seem mentally prepared for this game. Bombers outworked and outran us all day and attitude, pressure and workrate are a huge part of footy, no matter how talented you are, if you lack in this area , you’ll get picked off every time.

  5. Rivers been very quiet too
  6. Problem is we never learn our lessons and drink our own bath water too much.
  7. We aren’t even tackling
  8. They are working much harder
  9. Even May looks all at sea
  10. This could be all over had they kicked straight . We look so flat
  11. Backline in complete disarray without Lever
  12. Is McDonald playing?
  13. Thommo is a liability and Petty is badly out of form
  14. Excellent news, has gone up a level this year and feel he will turn into something even more special, and a great option in the midfield as well
  15. Might be worth trialing Bowsa up forward when Salo returns
  16. It’ll be Brown in Hibberd out Petty down back

Rooey is the final piece of the puzzle We now have all bases covered Best Backline in the comp. Two of the best wingman, All Australian Rucks and on ballers Elite crumbers and magic in Kozzie, Spargo and Chandler Very consistent , opportunistic and classy medium tall in Fritter. The final piece being the genuine power forward in JVR
  18. It was like Christmas, and New Year’s all in one for a lot of us Demonlanders seeing both Petty and Van Rooyen in the forward line.
  19. Mc Vee is an absolute cat! So much has changed from the bad old days in how we blooded guys like Watts and with the handling of Trenners and Grimes etc Van Rooyen , Mc Vee , Chandler Bowey, Spargo , Rivers , Sparrow and Jordon are ready to not only play but to excel.
  20. That victory was very very sweet indeed!! First of all to withstand that immense pressure on the ball from the swans, and to respond hard when they got within 6 points, was very pleasing. Guys like Spargo and Rivers have gone to another level, and I was rapt for JJ , who has taken Harmes spot. JVRs Grab was sensational as was Spargos. Lots to like against a real contender with two of our best to still return in Max and Koz.

This is a must win . I feel a statement performance coming on. Two teams I really want to beat this year are Swans and Collingwood . We owe them both and we owe it to ourselves Im not too worried about Brisbane or Geelong , I reckon we will account for those teams at the pointy end, but I don’t want to hear that Collingwood chant on Kings birthday.

It’s definitely JVR time, played some good minutes in the ruck and performed well. We are down in contested marks so far this year, so the inclusion of JVR and May should help. Hibbo has been playing out of his skin the last 3 weeks and deserves another chance . Jordon also might be a better bet than Harmes in my opinion. I feel for Dunstan as coming to Melbourne was not a great career move, even though he is playing some good footy. As for the outs it’ll be Harmes, Gawn and Melksham, maybe McVee for Hibbo but the kids been good. TMac the lucky one, as he might get one more week to do something. We need his support in the ruck as well, so we may see a three way rotation with Grundy and JVR , through the Ruck, up forward and resting on the bench. We need to make a statement and come out breathing fire, with Viney rarely playing two bad ones in a row.
  25. All time top 5 player for the club and the most consistently top level performing player I have ever seen.
