When he first started with us he was an eye opener, ok. Not great because he was still young, but very courageous, he took the game on. Any way i wish him all the best, the only one i was really sad to see go.

Congratulations Ricky, injury and being played in the wrong psition hurt him at Melbourne. He was always a great rebounding defender

Im not excited , just very nervous......hope the boys can step up for us this year.

We so desperately need our yonger guys to start showing something. Trengove, Tapscott,Grimes ,Blease etc need to gives Jones some genuine support, and challenge him for the mantle of number one onballer.

Not nessasarily, he could be mates with Dawes and Leigh Brown, and get on well with Neeld

We need to sign a star midfielder as a matter of urgency, Thomas fits the bill, so we need to bring out the war chest..

Been in our top 3 this preseason , and ready for a breakout year, definitely a keeper.

Players on the cusp who ive been impressed with this preseason and id like to see in the team : Terlich, Kent, M Jones, Jetta Players who havent done enough yet should still be in the team on reputation : Sylvia, Howe,Mckenzie,Garland Players who we dont dont know will be in the team because of injury but are certainties if fit : Clark, Trengove,Blease Dawes New players who should be in : Rodan, Byrnes, Viney Toumpas New players who i think will miss out : Pederson ( either Sellar or Clark if fit will play intead), Gillies ( too many backmen his size) Unlucky for now : Nicholson, Evans, Magner ( still a rookie) Im not going to pick a full team based on position because we dont know who is fit and who is not as yet. Oh.....and one more , Davey, ithink he should be in based on his Indegenous game and port power games, where he starred, he also dominated in the Casey game on the weekend, and has shown alot more than Sylvia, Howe or Mckenzie this preseason.

So far this preseason Watts is the only one from that list that looks to have stepped up. To a lesser extent Dunn and Jamar as well, and at least Tapscott is fit and looking better witheach game. But its Sylvia and Trengove we need to improve the most, we just cant afford Trenners to have another year like last year, and Sylvia needs to show some urgency, as he knows with the talent he has, he should be leading the way.

We seem to lack a bit of midfield pace....enter Blease, Jetta and Davey, they must play round one. We also missed our fullback, centre half back, centre half forward and full forward, in Frawley, McDonald,Clark and Dawes. It just feels like we are saving our best for round one.

I am still willing to wait and see, but my 12 year old son is already depressed over what he has seen. After hearing that Gold coast beat us yesterday, he said that we suck,and wasnt sure whether he wanted to go to the footy this year. If lose to Port round one, we will be 5000 down minimum on membership. Memo to players, "Please.....somebody do something!"

Add Blease and Kent to that.

Your right Hardtack we will wait and see. Not that i nessasarily want him to fail, more guys like Scully and Mclean that i dont wish any particularly good vein of form upon.

Nothing irritates me more than, players who decide they are going to play well when they join another club. Perfect example is Moloney whose eftort last year was a disgrace, and now all of a sudden looks a million dollars with Brisbane.

Not many are talking about Blease and Tappy. Apart from Jones and Grimes, Bleasey was our most exciting players,and one of the only ones capable of breaking the lines with pace, regularly kicking goals. Once he gets hs fitness base up expect him to spend alot of time in the midfield. We all know Tapscott, has the build, the mongrel and is a big kick. He jst needs to string a few games together. While Rodan and Byrnes will help us this year, expect these two to be regular replacements giving pace and grunt.

I think everything hinges on Grimes and Trengove stepping up if we are to improve as a team, they have been good but now have to make the footy world sit up and take notice, ala Dustin Martin and Trent cotchin.

Gawn will be so handy when he is ready. Imagine putting him on for the last 10 minutes of every quarter, giving Russian a chop out. It would be hard for opposing ruckmen to get over the top of him. He is a good contested mark too, confirmed by what I saw at training today.

Clark looks good. He hasn't lost his skills and he still oozes leadership out on the ground. I reckon he will play round one.

Dunn is everywhere, expect a huge season from him this year. Seems to be be making all the play out of defence.

Gawn outmarking Jamar in one on ones and also looks fit.

Trengove looking a little slimmer and dare I say it quicker .... in the middle of the drill I'm watching now and demanding the ball.

He looks fine to me, looks like they are putting he and Blease through an agility test. Kent doing sprints with Bail, but there is something special about Kent. He looks hardened and ready made.
