  1. it won't happen unless something changes via the AFL.. With Free Agency here, we are going to be consistently pick clean of talent... Hope your happy with compensation picks, because thats what we'll get a lot of... We are becoming a glorified TAC cup team...
  2. lol... Would be nice to follow a club with power...lol..
  3. well... your post isn't helping your wish, of another club getting sucked in... Shhh...
  4. the coach has changed and the administration has changed...
  5. I actually think having Roos around after his contract ends and not as senior coach, would be more beneficial too us... Having him float around the club not tied to all the duties that come with being a senior coach, would allow him to really get into the heads of the players... He'd be able to hold one on one training sessions and mental strength training sessions, with the players we have that need extra work... Maybe we could trial a new system, where we have a training senior coach and a match day senior coach? It should work, as long as they are on the same page...
  6. the AFL's first round pick isn't very likely...lol.. We will get stood on... again...
  7. the westpac centre? Isn't that where the AFL is run?...
  8. pffft... Mitch Clark has left our club via a false retirement.. Does he even have an illness? Who knows... you can believe what you want.... My post was reactionary... But after years and years of players leaving, after showing promise... Can you blame me? This year we will lose our best forward and our best defender and along with the many other who have parted the club, through varied circumstances... I'm seriously doubting our clubs ability to hold on to players...
  9. I doubt this club can continue to take this sort of rubbish treatment... This is probably one of the most disrespectful acts, I've seen a player do to a club... This action confirms to me, that our club is almost finished... Looks like we will never be able to hold on to any talent that appears on our list again... We have become a talent holding station, for the stronger clubs to pick from at will... The AFL may as well sell our licence too Collingwood now and call us Collingwood 2... the worst part of all this is that any compensation pick or player we get from these reoccurring/yearly events, will most likely be poach in a few years time as well... jeez.. We are a mere shadow of the former club we once were and we are close to being finished, the Money has won... The AFL system is unfair and has failed us badly...
  10. KB interviewed Eddie the other day, he pretty much walk Harry to the door...lol.. Collingwood are into are into our list big time, ive heard there target is Watts... they've had their media machine working our list for weeks, pushing our player prices down So they can poach our their targets on the cheap and act as though their doing us a favor by taking him... I don't care about HO righteous ways, he's an ok footy player and I'd take him at the right price... But... I do care if Collingwood push us around in trade week!! Harry is 27 an the best id give for him, would be a fourth rounder or id wait for him tobe delisted... As you know i wouldn't trade watts, but If Collingwood really want Him, then i want their first round pick + Harry O...
  11. Jones is easily in the top 40 players in the league and deserves to be listed here.... but in a selfish kind of way, I'm glad he is under the radar... The less attention he gets in the media, means its less likely he'll be poached... I know that big clubs will be circling anyway, but it just feels safer...
  12. even if the offenders wore Collingwood gear, its likely they'd blame us anyway...lol... The massive void in treatment between us and them is truly amazing!! I can't believe how the AFL manage to hide their favourable nods and winks... The bloody Magpies, Bombers, Blues, Hawks, and Swans are all protected clubs, who along with AFL control what happens behind closed doors... while clubs like like us, the Doggies, saints, and kangaroos all wear the shape end of the sword... This is a small public thing, but Why the hell!! Does the AFL need to ring Eddie, to approve Port Adelaide's finals guernsey? Farout!! What the hell does this decision, have to do with Collingwood? can't recall hearing about them asking us, if it's ok for Port to use our yoke design in their clash jumper? The way the AFL have craddled the Bombers, through the ASADA inquires is crazy... I'm not really surprised, but its still shocking to watch... The bombers straight out cheated!!! with some sneaky corrupt AFL nods and winks!! How they have manage to squash this is truly amazing really... The AFL are in on it and they know exactly what took place the investigations are a joke... Nothing will happen now, because the right people have been payed off and they are all just waiting until it goes away... Funny how Collingwood aren't top four anymore, now that their players aren't on High Altitude Arozona anymore... Hmmm... I think the AFL have put most of the big nods away, until the heat die's down... Personally i will always be drawn to the Dees and hope they win, even though deep down i know our game is corrupted... unless we can make big money and draw big crowds, we will forever be merely making up the numbers... Also... i think its too late to stop it, the corruption is just way to deep and to pry it out would mean we'd have to break down the whole thing and start again...
  13. i thought i saw one last night, but it turned out to be superman(Andrew Raines)... flying to the "G", to play for us for a dollar an hour...lol... I wish that our supporters could afford Watts the same "doesn't have to star, just perform a role"... Though its probably to late for that now... I wouldn't mind your ruthless trading, if you were ruthless at recruiting as well... "Baby step recruiting" isn't ruthless, you should aim higher... If your going to perform the role on here of "the ruthless modern footy" character, then its probably best that you are consistent...lol... Your doing a good job so far though, your character just needs a few tweaks and your there...lol... Your developing nicely, good job...
  14. There's been plenty of support for Jones around here, though he definitely deserves more accolade from the media.... Considering the team that he has developed in and the coaching/administration changes this club has put him through, it's really amazing how far his game has come on... Jones is a rear breed and is probably the best player we've drafted in the past ten to fifteen years... Who knows how he'd be rated if he didn't play for us? Probably somewhere around the Sam Mitchell/Jimmy Bartel make?
  15. lol... I can view things individually.... It just annoys me that in in one hand your holding Jacks exit ticket, and in the other your holding the door open for a dud like Raines... Jeez... If your gonna be ruthless and business like in your trading and delisting, then you probably should do the same with your drafting and recruiting... I do admit that my post was a little cheeky jab though...
  16. lol... I don't actually think he is a wasted pick, i was being sarcastic.. Its just becoming tough for me to watch these boards continuously pick on our players... Its almost like people here don't even support us and want them to fail or something.... Its just plan dumb, to judge a player after a handful of matches... If your picking up players from the Draft, then your gonna get kids and kids take time... He is capable of contributing and playing a role, but he's best is years away... Same as Toumpas, Its only he's second season and i believe he is being unfairly judged... Both are years away from there best...
  17. Andrew Raines? Are you serious? You want to trade Watts and then replace him with players like this...lol... Farout...
  18. funny how Carlton keeps popping up as the trade option.... They must be really be pushing hard for this to go through... I'm wondering how much this media campaign has cost them?
  19. i agree with this... Its also why the 07/08/09 experience cull was the worst part, of the tanking plan... How do you teach kids the fundementles in AFL without on field leaders showing the way? We did need to make room, but to wipeout 98% of our list was just ridicules... We moved on experienced on field leaders and replaced them with 3rd and 4th round draft picks... Pfft...Jack Watts is merely one player from a listful, that has been performing poorly in the last few weeks... Sure... Send him to Casey to work on his desire and intensity and confidence, but to trade him because of our own flawed plan is just dumb... Right now thers is 17 other clubs rubbing their hand together with thought of poaching Jack for a second rounder... He is a highly skilled player, who has been beaten down by the weight of the number 1 tag... Its only really us (and the media flogs, who want to slap us) that see this number against his name... Clubs like Sydney, Hawthorne and Collingwood see a player they can build into a champion... To be honest, our club is irrelevant now anyway... We are just a holding station, for stronger clubs to pick from at will... We are to blame... We keep searching for heroes to save us, instead of building a united team.... We build up the expectation because of draft numbers, and then cry because the player doesnt reached our expectations... We are stuck in a high end draft pick cycle... We are already doing this with Jessie Hogan... Who is now rated around here as our best forward and he hasn't even played a match yet...pffft... How long after we move Jack on, will we see a thread like this about him?
  20. lol... Wow... Cancer... Thats a bit harsh... Jeez... I'm happy to have PR decide whether we keep Watts or not... Jack is one player in a team full of players, not performing to AFL standard... I doubt trading him will turn this club around... Ive seen these boards attack and blame, player after player... One by one those players have parted from our club and still nothing has changed... Some of the character bashing on here is unbelievable.... Morton, Bennell, Martin, Moloney, Bruce....ect... All have a case for online bullying here... Who knows? One day a player might actually do something about this... As far as Watts being the cancer in our footy team...jeez... Hows about you listen to what the other players and the coaching staff have said about Watts... I believe our problems come from a few directions, but if you have to pin one thing for our problems... Then i would be more inclined to say that our clubs culture and sad reactionary supporter base, is a good start.... In 2007/08/09 our so called leaders, stripped our team bear of any on field leadership.. in the hope that they could recreate a new Norm Smith era....lol.. Without a real plan... We were directed to pick a kid to support and follow as the team grew, to watch as we rise up the ladder...pffft... They sold us a dream and now we are paying for it, and to be honest... their legacy might still be to much to come back from...
  21. yeah Frawley is already gone... but i think Dawes is still contracted, so we might be stuck with him...lol..
  22. the way i see it... Jack will mentally mature and realise his body is bigger than most when he's about 26/27.... He is 23... He will be a completely different player when he turns 26/27... Can we wait that long? And probably only for two or three golden years? I can... But i have trouble letting any of our players go, so of course i can... In about round five this year, most were saying he had turned his game around and that Roos was a genius... I did like a couple his matches back then, but really they were skill based games and he managed to rack up quite a few possessions... When he mentally matures, the way he attacks games will be completely different... He will never be a bustling, bash and crash type player, who drags in pack marks over five players.. But with he's skill set, i don't think he'll have to be... Others may not agree with me... but i think Jack will mature in to a very skilful player that will control matches, floating through all parts of the ground... People tend to compare him to Goddard who plays a similar game, but for me Hird in 2000 is a better comparison... Jack looks to lack confidence in his game and in his team mates, much like most of our team... With confidence he showed earlier this year, that he can produce some solid performances... Team confidence is a major factor here and Obviously, when the team grows in confidence so will jack... Unfortunately for us though, we will have to wait until he turns 26/27before we see the best of Jack Watts... I just hoping that we as a club, can hold our nerve.... the media machine of the power clubs are pushing for us to move him on, and the hordes circling our fallen list... If we aren't careful we will become holding station, for the stronger clubs...
  23. pretty sure we watch the club eat humble pie every week...
  24. lol... Maybe we should trade him for what ever we can get... He's clearly another wasted pick up...pfft...
