I'm starting to believe in them after that. The D is legit and the offense is functioning well enough despite all the injuries. A great base to build off. Sauce Gardner is a jet 😍

Extra "MAGIC" Round in 2023?
And the AFL sells a little more of its soul. How much is left to auction off? What is the bet we end up at one of the off Broadway grounds or play a "neutral" game against one of the SA clubs?

JVR Extends to 2025

Training Ground?
Great summary, thanks for that. To make it clear, I don't care if construction commences by end of 2023 if we have a clear pathway towards a solution. I just want a solution - I was only pointing out the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan of the club says they should start construction by end of 2023. If they don't but there is something in place to commence construction by say 2025 I will still be very happy at that outcome.

Who? If you're referring to me I was never a supporter of Lawrence and didn't even vote or send a proxy on the constitutional issue. Don't just troll from the cheap seats instead of actually participating in the discussion. This has been a longstanding issue - our lack of a home base goes back decades. The current board has been fervent in their pursuit of this and making promises of action to members. The Board has performed well and I'm not agitating for any changes - but they are the ones who put this on the agenda. The members deserve some answers on this because they have been promising for years that things are moving and they can't say anything now but within X months etc etc The reason I posted in here is because I've just been reading the Ian Munro book and to see it spelt out how long this has been an issue for and how poor our facilities were for so long and how far we fell behind the rest of the league is extremely frustrating. I want the best for my club and that includes a proper home base with the whole club united under one roof. Again, to reiterate - the board themselves put this on the agenda by including it in our strategic plan. Point 5 of the 2020-2023 Strategic Plan states; * Finish construction of high performance facility at Casey Fields * Start construction of new Melbourne home base facility If they do not get something up and running in the next 12 months they will have failed to meet this stated ambition.

Training Ground?
That's a furphy. Who is to say we wouldn't have been more successful with a proper footy/admin base? Who is to say having our admin and footy department in separate locations couldn't cultivate discord between the two? Who is to say that having a training base decades behind other clubs doesn't impact on recruitment or player retention? Who is to say that having no firm base for the club fosters a lack of identity making our enviable culture difficult to embed? Just pointing to last years flag as though that solves decades old issues is a sure way to be back right where we were before too long. We need to capitalise on that momentum not rest on our laurels.

Why wouldn't we be? We're decades behind the league and falling away further every year.

Training Ground?
Reading Ian Munro's makes me even more [censored] off at how long this has been going on for. This needs to be sorted out and soon, it is an embarrassment that the oldest club playing out of the MCG still doesn't have a proper training/admin base.

Dolphins, Pats, Titans Just when the Jets were becoming fun we lose our #1 offensive weapon Hall and AVT - Davis injured too but not sure whether he's ok to suit up this week or not. Zach looked terrible against the Broncos but they do have a formidable defence - I'm expecting similar this week against Belichick on the rebound after losing to the Bears at home (great game!) Belichick has made an art form of making young QBs (and young Jets QBs) look stupid and I expect this to continue on Monday

😲 In Search of Space is a masterpiece- Five man interchange
Just go the whole hog and have the entire playing list "active" like they do in the NFL.- Perception of usernames
I hated Tupac when I was younger but really like him now though I prefer his earlier stuff (2Pacalypse Now my favourite album) - he still has some great stuff later on but got too caught up in the East/West gangster rubbish. Agree on Kendrick, haven't heard of Dave will have to give him a listen.- Perception of usernames
That's the thing though - seen in the context of their time vs compared to everything that came after. Part of my affection for certain artists (whether musical or otherwise) is valuing them in the context of the time and what they helped inspire. Not everyone sees things that way though, it's just about whether they like what they're viewing/experiencing at that moment and for some The Beatles don't hit that mark.- In what Universe??
Agree 100% and not only that has missed goals from less than 20m out on the run with no-one in front of him on multiple occasions.- Perception of usernames
I saw Rammstein live at the Big Day Out about 10 years ago. Now that was a show! Iggy Pop and Tool played the same show, unbelievable.- Your favourite music to get you through to the Grand Final
I've seen Tool at least half a dozen times (I've actually lost count) although unfortunately I missed out on tickets for the Aenima tour ☹️ Rage are one of the few bands left I still haven't seen live - was 5th in line for tickets when they came out around 2007 and played Festival Hall I think and tickets sold out after the 2nd person. I can't remember if they played Big Day Out but I didn't go. Would also love to see Metallica and Guns n Roses live but I am extremely hesitant to pay hundreds of dollars for a gig at a footy oval. I just can't imagine it would be any good. I had level 2 tickets at Docklands to see Metallica in 2019 I think but Hetfield went into rehab so the tour was cancelled I saw Sabbath when they came out in 2013 and had a blast, it sucked when they played songs from the new album they were promoting but when the sirens started blaring for War Pigs at the start of the gig my god! A couple of other great gigs I've been to are Cypress Hill at Metro and also at Festival Hall, Electric Wizard at the Green Room (Supercoven & Return Trip were immense), Tomahawk/Fantomas/Melvins at The Palace, Melvin's playing Houdini live at Ding Dong Lounge and Nine Inch Nails at the BDO. Would love to see Run The Jewels as well if they toured with Rage would be awesome but not sure that's gonna happen any time soon.- Perception of usernames
That entire album is amazing, from memory it was recorded in the Tate house where the Manson murders occurred. An absolute masterpiece of 90s post-modern nihilism. I remember watching Fight Club and about 30-40 minutes in going "this story is following the same story beats as The Downward Spiral" - a few years later I read an article with Chuck Palahniuk where he said he was listening to Downward Spiral on repeat while writing the book.- Perception of usernames
I know a lot of people hate The Beatles especially those in the punk scenes. For some they were the next generation rebelling against The Beatles for some they just don't like their style. I don't like everything they did but there is gold in their catalogue - I can see why some people wouldn't like them though but I guess it also depends on what they've heard of them. I always get a laugh out of the Simpsons saying The Beatles are the songs on Maggie's tape player - it's true, one of the things that actually got me to listen to The Beatles properly was my kids watching this show called Beat Bugs when they were younger where animated bugs put together the Beatles songs 🤣- Perception of usernames
Some is but like every genre there is great stuff along with the dross. I have Kendrick Lamar's good kid maad city as my favourite album of the 2010s, I can listen to it on repeat for days. I'm not a fan of Drake and the mumble rap stuff but Snoop, Ice Cube, Dre, Nas, Tupac, Cypress Hill, Ill Bill, Necro, Eminem - there's serious talent there creating another spectrum of music. Even bands like Rage Against The Machine who fuse rap and rock although as good as they were they could also be charged with paving the way for nu-metal 🤮- Perception of usernames
