Loving this Jets team at the moment. Gardner, Williams x2, AVT, Hall, Davis, Berrios, G Wilson - just a really fun team to watch at the moment. I love the brutality on defence, it's always a hallmark of a good Jets team (eg NY Sack Exchange). Still not sold on Zach Wilson, a few times on Sunday he just held on to the ball way too long and that almost turnover in the end zone just before half time was mind boggling. He improved after half time but still only 10/18 and 110 yards with one chunk play to Corey Davis for the game. If he can make it we might have a chance to do something in the coming years. -

Another win for the Jets albeit against a 3rd string QB. Despite that I'm loving the look of some of our you get guys, Hall, Gardner, G Wilson, AVT have looked very good so far. I'm expecting a tougher game this week against Aaron Rodgers but we then have Denver who look like an absolute dumpster fire. That Russell Wilson contract situation 😮

Why? The purpose of the sub was so club's weren't disadvantaged if a player was concussed. Then they just changed it to if a player was injured. Now it will just be an additional interchange so we're back to where we started but with a 5 man interchange. Next they'll need a sub for concussed/injured players so will be a 5 man interchange + 1 sub. And on and on it goes. It's ridiculous, they should be limiting the interchange not expanding it.
What's the point of this? May as well have just hung on to Weid, Schache is basically the same player but with less physicality. I don't get it. I don't see him getting much time in the seniors at all.

Not really when you're already paying another elite ruck north of that amount. $1.5m+ out of a $13m salary cap (11.5%) to two ruckman who can't really play elsewhere is lopsided list management.

Does it matter? Ruck is the most over rated position on the ground. Dogs have gone with Bont in the ruck, Tigers have gone with Rioli at times. I'm sure we'll find some lug to bash and crash in the rookie/mid season draft if it comes to it, otherwise with our midfield it shouldn't matter anyway.
Collingwood will be using this bluster about a top 25 pick as a way to negotiate down their part of the salary. I sincerely hope we tell them to stuff it and will be [censored] if we end up paying more than we would have liked for the next 5 years.
Yeah I get the "points value" I just think its a fallacy and was being facetious in my post. Of course there are always diamonds in the rough but nothing really beats the quality you get with high end draft picks. Packaging up lower picks because they equal out points wise (based on what? A subjective AFL system to assist with FS/Academy bids) doesn't make up for the lost potential of a player like Oliver or Petracca.
Rubbish, one of his best games was against the Lions immediately after the bye. He then got injured and played like it for the rest of the year. I hold nothing against Jackson at all.

Agree, rookie contracts need to be 3+1+1 with club options for 4th and 5th year. This at least gives clubs some more surety than a 2 year contract for a kid who just finished high school.
