  1. Or watch the live channel instead of the event tile
  2. Any chance they can invest in some high frame rate HD cameras so we can get footy in 4k and have goal reviews where you can actually see frame by frame what is happening (like NFL reviews) and not just a blurry mish mash of pixels?
  3. He's 20. Will only keep improving. Won't hit his peak for 5 years. This downplaying of his ability is ridiculous.
  4. No way would they backtrack if they've put an offer out and got an in principle agreement. Would make their name mud with player agents.
  5. Stay firm Brodie!
  6. Channel 7 turns the crowd sound down so you can hear the commentators - unlike the radio broadcasts.
  7. Probably leaving it for walk-ups - this morning I was trying to get seats in M19 but it would only give me the option of undercover. Level 1 open seats were only available in M17. I had to just keep trying and wait til those bays were sold and they released the open tickets closer to the wing (got tined out and had to go back in again).
  8. Was discussing it yesterday, my sister reckons it's because we don't have enough wog supporters 🤣 I kind of agree, us wogs just love yelling even around the dinner table and Collingwood, Richmond and Carlton in particular have a big proportion of southern/eastern European supporters.
  9. Good news if we have to play Sydney or Collingwood again 🤣
  10. Who cares? It does your head in when you're playing them but you need a rabid crowd to intimidate the opposition and get the "noise of affirmation" happening. Look at Geelong, were on the back foot from the first bounce due to the hostile atmosphere created by the Collingwood supporters.
  11. Plus NRL finals 🙄
  12. I thought week 2 was same price as week 1?
  13. Yep don't doubt that for a second! The reason I'm banging on about it is that I was just stunned at the lack of noise - people around me were imploring the Melbourne supporters to barrack loud but there was just not much enthusiasm other than the brief patch in the 3rd quarter. For example when there was a ball-in near us on the southern stand wing early in the last we'd be yelling support, cheering the players on etc but there was little else coming from our area. I'm not saying we have to be feral like Collingwood/Richmond but some vocal support would be great! I agree about 2018, perhaps I'd just been remembering how great the crowd was then and assumed that finally with a decent turnout this year and it being finals the supporters would finally find their voice similar to those two games but it was very subdued and a weird vibe around the stadium (even from the 1st bounce).
  14. Yes Geelong fans are typically quiet as well - I went to the 2011 Prelim Feel v WCE and couldn't believe the lack of noise/support. I assumed though it was just complacency bred through success. Doesn't excuse our own supporters lack of voice though.
  15. Who gives a [censored] if those dirtbags respect us??
  16. 1) we did not make plenty of noise. The crowd was pathetic 2) no one has said that was the reason we lost
  17. Lucky to get 45k I reckon
  18. I reckon Sydney will give them headaches. Assuming Geelong gets over the Pies today.
  19. I never said that was the reason we lost, just that the lack of noise was pathetic for a close final.
  20. Jeez that sounds horrible - hope he's ok
  21. I just see it differently - it seems most supporters are waiting for the team to do something they can react to. My view is supporters should be cheering and generating noise/atmosphere for the side (you know, supporting) regardless of what is happening on the field. Now obviously if the team is blown off the park the supporters will go quiet but when it is an arm wrestle all night I expect the supporters to pull their heads out of their arses and actually cheer the team. Maybe that's just me.
  22. And when we got on somewhat of a roll and put the foot down in the 3rd the Swans replied in kind and outscored us 6 goals to 5. They are a very very good side, I think their losses to Essendon and GC during the year saw many underrate them as flakey (myself included).
  23. Comprehensively beaten? It was 2 goals the difference at 3/4 time. I think some Melbourne supporters have forgotten they're not their to watch the Harlem Globetrotters. Your role as a supporter is to support not sit on your hands and only cheer when something good or exciting happens. The crowd last night was weak as [censored].
  24. The difficulty we've been having is in wrestling momentum back from opposition sides - not momentum as in goals but momentum as in the way the game is played. Teams lock us down and pressure is around the contest and we have trouble winning that arm wrestle and putting it back on them so they are the ones taking possession under pressure. I don't know how we correct it either because we have built our game on winning that contest. We were sloppy due to this whole Sydney was clean. People looking at the 50m penalties are looking at the wrong things I think - the difference was we missed the relatively easy shots (Melksham a main offender) while they were kicking them out of their arses, snapping from packs 40 out and hitting goals from 45 out on the boundary.
