  1. We didn't finish top 4. The season doesn't end after round 22. It's been a successful few years relative to the 57 that came before but when you're talking highly successful you're talking Geelong 2007-2011, Hawks 2012-2015, Richmond 2017-2020. Those are highly successful periods.
  2. Cliff notes for those of us who can't access?
  3. I seriously can't believe we are back here again. It feels like the Schwab days all over again.
  4. I replied via email to say I supported an independent review but did not want to click a link in an unsolicited email. I got a response back saying they completely understood and would add my name to the "yes" vote.
  5. "Highly successful"? You're having a laugh. We were successful in 2021, since then it's been underachievement before finishing 5th last this year.
  6. Depends on what it finds and who may be held accountable.
  7. Did we? 1- play finals each year 2020-23 and win a flag. We didn't play finals in 2020, we did win a flag. I'd give it a pass but technically a fail. 2- $4m profit over 4 years - did we achieve this? Eliminate debt. $30m+ of income producing assets. I'm not sure about any of this so not sure if it's a pass or fail. 3- have a culture that inspires excellence and attracts new talent. Pretty wishy washy though you can argue our culture has gone backwards and have struggled to attract new talent since the flag. I give this a fail though it is subjective. 4- 75k+ members, 50k+ average home crowds. Fail. 5- home base. Fail. That's at least 3 fails out of 5 for me and possibly fails on all 5 (again not sure on point 2).
  8. What would ANB have done if the Crows weren't interested either?
  9. One of the first things Peter Jackson did when he came to Melbourne was to put an end to the leaks. Seems we're just reverting to type now but who the hell is doing it? I can't imagine it being anyone in the FD and I would've thought the board are all united behind Roffey but perhaps not. It's disgraceful that after less than a decade of behaving like a proper footy club and achieving some success the facade has worn off and we have reverted back to the rabble we were before PJ and Roos saved us.
  10. If this was raised in the exit meeting, it stands to reason someone in that meeting has let it be known to the media. Either we have the dumbest club officials going around or it came from Kozzie. Hmm on second thoughts maybe we have media embedded in our exit meetings, would explain a hell of a lot.
  11. Yeah, what's happened in the last week to change that I wonder? 🤔
  12. Issues have been swept u der the carpet for a long time but the situation has become untenable with the tumble down the ladder and the Petracca situation. Heads must roll. Pert must go. I am more ambivalent on Roffey, the main reason being I don't really know what she does so difficult to say whether it's good or not. She must live or die by the home base issue, members are owed an update on this if we get nothing tangible in the next few months she should go. I have been a supporter but I think Goodwin needs to share a big part of the blame too. We may need a wholesale cleanout, the place is collapsing in on itself.
  13. I recall him clobbering into the Swans earlier this year. Ideally you want a big key forward who plays with aggression but we did win a flag with Ben Brown. If we are going to bring in a big forward id prefer a player who can 1) get on the park and 2) can play back up ruck to Gawn so JVR/Petty don't have to. I wanted Chol last off season but it seems like our recruiters weren't interested, didn't try hard enough or were rebuffed. I don't know who else is out there so if it was between Lynch or Wright I'd prefer Wright as I think Lynch is cooked.
  14. Would prefer Peter Wright. Far cheaper and more durable.
  15. He deviates off his line and steps into the bump. He's gone for 3.
  16. I don't buy it. It's not about gameplan or execution, our players actually play timid against the filth. There is no intent behind their movement, they should be tackling to hurt the opposition, swarming them etc The club must put their footy down and say, regardless of what happens moving forward we will not lose to Collingwood again. Play with some ferociousness and they don't like it, they only like it when they can bully other sides. Turn the tables and they go to water.
  17. All those saying Moore caused it by sliding are right but it won't change the outcome. The AFL will say "if you elect to bump you wear the consequences". It's absolute garbage because if the roles were reversed you know what the result would be but because it is Melbourne and even more so because it is Pickett he will get weeks. The umpiring tonight was farcical, this would be the cherry on top. AFL are a corrupt organisation run and officiated by inbred maggots. Sick of the lot of them.
  18. Delusional take. We played them on Kings Birthday with a third if their team out and they still killed us. It's about mindset, they have the right attitude we fall to water when it counts. Yeah we can beat up on a soulless Suns team but can we apply the same pressure/aggression against a Pies team with their rabid supporters screaming from the stands? Some of the efforts to ight were deplorable, many of them when the game was still alive early. They were not the only culprits but Bowey and Fritsch were two notable ones who just [censored] themselves at the thought of contact. It's actually embarassing the way we continue to have our pants pulled down by this mob. We've beaten them twice since 2017 and one of those games was at the Gabba. What does it take for us to say "no more" we will not let this mob roll over us anymore!? It has nothing to do with gameplan, footskills, turnovers etc and has everything to do with mindset and aggression at the opposition and the contest.
  19. I disagree with this sentiment wholeheartedly. ANB has given his all for this club, was told he wasn't needed and out his head down and worked his [censored] off to become a key cog in our premiership side and a leader of the team. He has legitimate reasons to want to return to SA after repaying the club, it's not like a young rookie walking out on the club that draft him after one or two years.
  20. I can walk and chew gum 😉
  21. There is some merit in what you're saying but to think the Petracca story just came from nowhere and was pulled from thin air by Morris is fanciful. Goodwin, Pert and Gawn all spoke in the last week and none refuted the issues. Petracca has not come out to say the whole thing is garbage. There was a players only meeting on Monday where Petracca addressed the group. Clearly in this case where there is smoke there is fire.
  22. Yes. It's absolutely ridiculous, the aim is to win the flag. Doing that from outside the 4 is nigh on impossible (apart from the Dogs aberration) let alone winning from 9th or 10th. It's just more pointless money grabbing from the AFL, trying to find more ways to appease the broadcasters with more content, not giving a stuff about the supporters or the integrity of the competition. They are an absolute clown show. Wildcards make sense in the NFL because of the division structure. So you might have a division winner with a 7-10 or 8-9 record make playoffs while another division has 3 teams with records of 10-7 or better so it makes sense for the better teams in the stronger division to qualify for playoffs as "wildcards" despite not winning their division to qualify. The AFL does not have divisions or conferences, we have one ladder with the qualifying for finals being finishing in the top 8. After 22 (now 23) rounds if you haven't done enough to qualify for at least 8th spot then you aren't a serious threat for the flag are you?
