Cards, Rams, Bills If Bills/Titans is postponed then I'll take Cards, Rams, Panthers

Nah we are a dumpster fire. If we couldn't beat the Broncos with a 3rd string QB we've got no hope and our schedule only gets harder after the next two weeks. We've got Cards and Chargers and then have Miami x2, Pats X2, Bills, Seahawks, Chiefs, Rams, Raiders & Browns for the rest of the schedule. Darnold is inactive this week (not that it would make much difference) so we've got Flacco starting. Our D was always our weapon but now we're not even that strong defensively especially since the Jamal Adams trade. We lost our best receiver Robbie Anderson last year, Gase is an [censored] and hates Bell, our Oline is trash and now Bekton is injured after we put him in injured against the Broncos The entire organisation is an absolute shambles, they need to blow the whole thing up and start again. Bekton, Maye, Mosely (opted out this season), Crowder and Bell probably the only 5 you would hate to lose. Blow up the rest, sack Gase, tank for Trevor and pray Joe Douglas knows what he is doing.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN BROWN
Dr. Gonzo replied to Dee tention's topic in Melbourne Demons
They're pushing him out the door, how can they be making demands? They should be expecting a 3rd or 4th rounder for him really -
I got one

Don't hold your breath haha

Sometimes the best people are those who have a vested interest in the club, or those who can offer an alternate view. I never voted in board elections because I wouldn't know any of them from a bar of soap. I'm sure they're all very successful in their own professions but it doesn't hurt to have a footy person on the board as well even if they may not make it onto a corporate board.

In light of the uncertainty I wonder when the AFL will look at releasing a fixture for next year. Usually they release it end of October but it might seem a moot point so they may not bother releasing anything until just before the season?

Why? He's 26, vice captain and a top 3 B&F for the last 5 years

Kent was also perennially injured and wanted a 3 year contract

2 years is ok, I wonder what the salary is hopefully we didn't give him more than the average wage

The cap is a soft cap so clubs can pay over they just have to pay a "penalty" tax

Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
If he doesn't and the team fails to perform he will be gone. -
Dees Reviewing Senior Footy Department Positions
Dr. Gonzo replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
They should've done that 2 years ago!! So reactive, it was obvious after 2018 we needed to replenish the assistants -
I keep forgetting to check this thread ?♂️ Give me Seahawks, Ravens, Bills this week Looks like my Jets are tanking for Trevor, will be lucky not to go 0-16. Darnold has been mentally destroyed by this club I feel sorry for the guy. Hopefully he can get a fresh start somewhere and resurrect his career (just not New England....)

Good to hear about Petty and Sparrow Smith is no good, can't understand them extending him even if only for a year. Put him on the rookie list if you have to (is that still a thing next year) but don't waste a senior list spot on a guy who isn't even that good as a depth option

Crows Attempting to Poach Darren Burgess
Dr. Gonzo replied to YesitwasaWin4theAges's topic in Melbourne Demons
And why is this the first we've heard of it? Maybe someone from the club feeding Morris BS to make him look stupid? He doesn't have a good relationship with us from memory -

Our injury list would say otherwise. -
Maybe they've agreed in principle but still ironing out some details? I'm clinging haha

What you say definitely has merit but I think there's also plenty to be said for the intangible "culture" as well. My concern is we've spent the better part of 7 years trying to rebuild that and it takes a massive hit if Viney walks.

I don't think you can compare Aussie Rules with NBA/NHL for the simple reason those teams are comprised of such small squads. Aussie Rules has 22 players each week but really you need a squad of at least 30 players that can rotate through the team if you want to be successful. Having said that though how have the Spurs fared since Kawhi left? How did the Raptors go this year? Knocked out by the Celtics in round 1 of the playoffs?
