Yep...you've both put it well. Why would we want to get rid of established players, McLean or Jones, just to get a pick in the draft that may turn out to be a dud? I would have thought that our footy team is about more than collecting draft picks....it's about developing every player on our list, and developing a strong team, not just throwing away good club players for potential picks. We need an even team across all age groups when we are challenging. We don't want to keep taking two steps forward, three steps back every season. Belzebub59 is right when he says Sydney won't give it up....they need it, and no other club in their right mind would hand us another first round draft pick. They'd be sealing their own doom!!! :D

Pick + player for a better pick is the right idea, but....I recall last year Brisbane traded Anthony Corrie for pick 93, which they were never going to use, and Geelong traded C.Gardiner and King to the Saints for pick 90. So it can happen

Hahaha, that was hilarious. I was talking to a mate (Saints supporter) about Milne....he's just about my most hated player in the league, I was telling him that he was selfish and arrogant. He denied it...and then Milne the show pony comes out and screws that kick up after a simpel set shot!! What a jackass :D Funny that the Melbourne song was played three times...more than the Saints'!!. And their players had to wait for ages to do their lap... Memorable moments....Robbo's goal and obvious joy and relief, what a champion, you can tell how much the club means to him. And then Wheater's goal from 60m...brought back some memories there. Really positive day.
