Dees Turnovers vs League Average
Looks like the spots where we are most predictable. The area we kick-in to 99% of the time and our F50 entries.
-
Our biggest issue is...
Not being able to run out games. It's been a clear pattern since R10. Our 5 last quarters vs the other top 4 sides: 6.10.46 vs 20.13.133 In those 5 quarters we have lost by a total of 14.3.87. We are lambs to the slaughter unless we've got at least a 5-6 goal lead halfway through the 3rd. But if it's close, it just seems impossible for us to win and I dont know how we can turn in around in 3 games.

POSTGAME: QF vs Sydney
Why can’t we run out games? It’s going to cost us a flag

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Understand the narrative of us not taking our chances in the first half. But for me it’s more about them being on 50 at half time. They kicked more goals when we had the game on our terms (8) than when they had it on their terms (7). Which is baffling for a team that base their game on defence.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
So disappointing. We have no one to blame but ourselves. You could see we were going to get overrun a mile off. When was the last close game we’ve won? We just look like deer in the headlights when the pressure goes up.

Farewell Sam Weideman
I’m not sure that he just doesn’t compete. I think it’s more of a technical issue. Watching from the top level on Saturday, it was clear that he runs under the ball a fair bit. There were at least 2 at the end I was at where the kick was fine but he ran straight under it making it easy for the defender to spoil. His timing needs to improve. Might also explain why he double grabs marks often.

Jeff White King Hit
As a few have mentioned, you could hear the sound from the crowd and it was sickening. Bomber said something along the lines of 'King could've broken his leg' which was just so out of touch given the seriousness of the injury. Would love to see the actual quote, I've looked for it but haven't found it.

POSTGAME: Rd 18 vs Hawthorn
Of the 5 games we’ve played against the bottom 4 teams, tonight was the first time we’ve been in front at half time. Defensively we look horrible against poor sides when they don’t go down the line. They simply employ a game plan to counter our strengths and we have no answer but to just keep doing the same thing.

Caroline Wilson - Where has she gone?
Isn't that her job though? She openly admits her role is not that of a match report writer. If footballers/administrators/boards are doing the wrong thing, you'd prefer it be swept under the carpet and not have them be held accountable? That's a big part of the role of journalists in all sectors.

AGM 2021
It's an interesting point and one that would definitely have been true before 2020. However with the pandemic there seems to be a shift towards people not needing to live as centrally as in the past. Whether that lasts is the question. We've already seen Gawny and Lever move down to the coast which is the same or similar distance to Casey as the inner city. Is it possible we could create an option for players to live on the east coast in a similar way Geelong has on the west? They have attracted superstar players like Danger and Cameron who would only play for Geelong because of geographical/lifestyle reasons. I'm sure cashed up footballers can afford to live in Sorrento, Mount Martha etc. which take a similar amount fo time to get to Casey as their traffic congested trip to Goschs. The real key would be a Social Club. We need a viable SC within walking distance to the G for members/supporters.

Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
Episode 2 been dropped. How are we feeling now? People still hate it? Agreeing with Kane?
-
Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
You are wrong and have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
-
Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
Yeah, fair enough. I guess we’ll find out.
-
Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
Have I missed something? The doco looks like it’s about the 2019/20 preseason. How is that ‘reminding people we’ve been garbage for 50 years’? It doesn’t seem to indicate they’ve dug up footage from the 80s.
-
Cornes: Dees Win the Preseason
Cornes is paid to stir the pot, not too fussed if he wants to get a headline. But the whingers on here are hilarious. You people want minute by minute updates from the club, in depth injury reports, communication on how players are going. Then the club release a behind the scenes doco and you tell them to shut up. Do you think this was Max Gawn’s idea? Do you think Jack Viney is behind the camera? It will likely just be vision of stuff that was happening anyway and we’re all just being given an insight. 95% of the whingers will still watch it. Don’t take the easy negative path that everyone in this country seems to take. Cheer up, stop whinging and enjoy the ride!

Josh Mahoney
The code is Australian Rules Football. There is a Hall of Fame and there are coaches that have been inducted into it. Clarkson will be inducted. My reply was to a poster suggesting Mahoney should have convinced Clarkson or Simpson over to become a coaching director. Nice try on the condescending ‘young un’ too. Didn’t mind it.

Josh Mahoney
Supporter gets angry because Mahoney doesn’t convince Hall of Fame coach to break contract, retire from coaching to take up lesser role on less money at different club. There’s a lot of ‘old man yells at cloud’ about this.

Petracca on the Move?
My SISTER just TEXTED me to say the FACEBOOK PAGES ARE SAYING Petracca and Salem have ASKED TO BE TRADED. Everyone have a think about that chain of information. It’s almost as good as ‘someone told me they heard on radio’. Definition of Chinese whispers anyone...

I always find this stance interesting. Not having a go at you as I’m just generally interested, but what would you like him to say?

AFL and 18 Clubs apologise to Adam Goodes
What is narcissistic personality disorder? Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Others often describe people with NPD as cocky, manipulative, selfish, patronizing, and demanding. Signs and symptoms of narcissistic personality disorder: Grandiose sense of self-importance Grandiosity is the defining characteristic of narcissism. More than just arrogance or vanity, grandiosity is an unrealistic sense of superiority. Narcissists believe they are unique or “special” and can only be understood by other special people. What’s more, they are too good for anything average or ordinary. They only want to associate and be associated with other high-status people, places, and things. Narcissists also believe that they’re better than everyone else and expect recognition as such—even when they’ve done nothing to earn it. Frequently demeans, intimidates, bullies, or belittles others Narcissists feel threatened whenever they encounter someone who appears to have something they lack—especially those who are confident and popular. They’re also threatened by people who don’t bow down to them or who challenge them in any way. Their defense mechanism is contempt. The only way to neutralize the threat and prop up their own sagging ego is to put those people down. They may do it in a patronizing or dismissive way as if to demonstrate how little the other person means to them. Or they may go on the attack with insults, name-calling, bullying, and threats to force the other person back into line. Sense of entitlement Because they consider themselves special, narcissists expect favorable treatment as their due. They truly believe that whatever they want, they should get. They also expect the people around them to automatically comply with their every wish and whim. That is their only value. If you don’t anticipate and meet their every need, then you’re useless. And if you have the nerve to defy their will or “selfishly” ask for something in return, prepare yourself for aggression, outrage, or the cold shoulder.

AFL and 18 Clubs apologise to Adam Goodes
I like that you've bristled up a little here. Some emotion in one of your posts, I'm all for it. Let's see if we can coax out just a little bit of empathy now. 100% of the people you've chosen to lecture in this thread support Goodes. A skewed figure for someone who 'deplores racism'. One thing I'm sure (hope) we agree on is that there was an element of the abuse Goodes received was racially motivated. I think that the majority of it was/is. That is my opinion from the sample size that I have come in contact with. Meanwhile, you're hellbent on trying to make people prove what percentage that was (obviously not possible) in order to protect those the might've been lumped in with the bigots. You've tried to compare whites experiencing racism to minorities and in this case indigenous Australians experiencing racism. I find that completely misses the mark at best. All of the people that have put forward considered arguments in this thread disagree with you. You may not put me in that category, if that's the case, I'm not fussed. But have you considered that? Everyone is wrong and you're right? Even the person that seems to know you personally disagreed with you. Maybe you're just more intelligent than everyone?

Watch the documentary and then come back with your views. I'll semi take your point on being careful with words. Only if for the greater cause. I'm sorry for racially abusing all white people and I accept my own apology.

AFL and 18 Clubs apologise to Adam Goodes
It's interesting that out of my original post the ONLY thing you tried to argue was that it was racist to white people. Which says a whole lot more about you than it does about me. Your straw man arguments will distract some from the real issues, which is unfortunate. But it's not going to trick anyone with any sense of decency. Make sure you watch the documentary too. Sam Newman will need someone to stick up for him after it's aired publicly...

I apologise you were unable to understand my point without trying to turn it into some white people being victimised. Ps Note I said 'some'

AFL and 18 Clubs apologise to Adam Goodes
Sorry to ruin your long winded post, but I didn't say all white people. I'm white, I accepted it. I was referring to white people that didn't accept the dance and in turn booed him. Which is racist. Cheers
