  1. Yeh I wonder if they mean when he plays forward? He’s clearly played more than 7 games since R10 2023.
  2. We should absolutely enquire about Chol. He kicked 44 goals last year and is a solid backup ruck. Ideal role player we need.
  3. Can anyone give an example of another team in history that loses the way we do? Sure, you can lose the odd game due to poor kicking, but to dominate games and lose them so often isn’t something I’ve seen before. We were set this year too. Fit, match hardened, on our home ground…and we crumbled under pressure.
  4. Gee how disappointing is that. He absolutely deserved weeks. There’s no point throwing the toys out of the cot as a club. The players role is to play 4 quarters Friday, our role as fans is to turn up and be louder than we’ve ever been. Control what we can control.
  5. Need to wait for official confirmation McKay is in concussion protocols. I’m sensing a Port style ‘mistake’ on the cards…
  6. Are you certain? I’ve only ever heard his first injury described as a mid foot sprain. Lisfranc is 12 months. Which is the Mitch Clark injury.
  7. Plenty of narrative going around that 2 rucks don’t work. How many rucks did we play in 2021?
  8. Which of the below options do people think Chris Fagan would prefer: 1. Kossie plays for Melbourne this week 2. Kossie plays for Casey this week
  9. Personally, I’m constantly baffled as to why people care what ‘the media’ says about their club. Why does it rile people up so much? It also seems contradictory. ‘Luke Darcy has no idea what he’s talking about’ but I want him to think we are the bees knees. Who cares what Luke Darcy thinks! Form your own opinion as a result of hearing different views and analysis. Do people just want an echo chamber to confirm their view? We’re currently 4th. Do supporters want to hear each media personality say we’re the greatest to to ever exist and we won’t lose again for 15 years? Even if they said that, it doesn’t mean anything. Then we have an example of a former club legend (Lyon) who openly states he and his kids barrack for the club, and some people thinks he ‘hates us’ because he critiques how we play (his job). Mind boggling.
  10. He’s going to bail with 1 year left on his contract?
  11. Ultimately there will be a few factors contributing to the fade outs in some way, but for mine, it just has to be fitness. Whether that is due to injury, not getting the program right (my belief) or the game plan is too demanding, is up for debate. But all of the other reasons thrown up here, such as not kicking straight, missing TMac etc. don’t pass the eye test in my opinion. We were chasing tails in the second halves of games and it was clear the opposition got the game on their terms relatively easily. We looked gassed, helpless and could never turn the tide. Stating the obvious but it must be rectified. We can’t go into games next year with the mindset ‘if we don’t convert at 80% we’re stuffed’.
  12. This was actually the R2 game vs GC that Goody said this and I agree. I thought at the time it would come back to bite us. Even if you don’t need to score, practising doing it doesn’t hurt!!
  13. Our record at the MCG since round 10.. 2-6. We should’ve lost the Carlton game too. It’s been an issue for a long time now, even in 2018. Not sure we can defend the ground well enough and our scoring conversion rate is very poor.
  14. Looks like the spots where we are most predictable. The area we kick-in to 99% of the time and our F50 entries.
  15. Not being able to run out games. It's been a clear pattern since R10. Our 5 last quarters vs the other top 4 sides: 6.10.46 vs 20.13.133 In those 5 quarters we have lost by a total of 14.3.87. We are lambs to the slaughter unless we've got at least a 5-6 goal lead halfway through the 3rd. But if it's close, it just seems impossible for us to win and I dont know how we can turn in around in 3 games.
  16. Why can’t we run out games? It’s going to cost us a flag
  17. Understand the narrative of us not taking our chances in the first half. But for me it’s more about them being on 50 at half time. They kicked more goals when we had the game on our terms (8) than when they had it on their terms (7). Which is baffling for a team that base their game on defence.
  18. So disappointing. We have no one to blame but ourselves. You could see we were going to get overrun a mile off. When was the last close game we’ve won? We just look like deer in the headlights when the pressure goes up.
  19. I’m not sure that he just doesn’t compete. I think it’s more of a technical issue. Watching from the top level on Saturday, it was clear that he runs under the ball a fair bit. There were at least 2 at the end I was at where the kick was fine but he ran straight under it making it easy for the defender to spoil. His timing needs to improve. Might also explain why he double grabs marks often.
  20. As a few have mentioned, you could hear the sound from the crowd and it was sickening. Bomber said something along the lines of 'King could've broken his leg' which was just so out of touch given the seriousness of the injury. Would love to see the actual quote, I've looked for it but haven't found it.
  21. Of the 5 games we’ve played against the bottom 4 teams, tonight was the first time we’ve been in front at half time. Defensively we look horrible against poor sides when they don’t go down the line. They simply employ a game plan to counter our strengths and we have no answer but to just keep doing the same thing.
  22. Isn't that her job though? She openly admits her role is not that of a match report writer. If footballers/administrators/boards are doing the wrong thing, you'd prefer it be swept under the carpet and not have them be held accountable? That's a big part of the role of journalists in all sectors.
  23. It's an interesting point and one that would definitely have been true before 2020. However with the pandemic there seems to be a shift towards people not needing to live as centrally as in the past. Whether that lasts is the question. We've already seen Gawny and Lever move down to the coast which is the same or similar distance to Casey as the inner city. Is it possible we could create an option for players to live on the east coast in a similar way Geelong has on the west? They have attracted superstar players like Danger and Cameron who would only play for Geelong because of geographical/lifestyle reasons. I'm sure cashed up footballers can afford to live in Sorrento, Mount Martha etc. which take a similar amount fo time to get to Casey as their traffic congested trip to Goschs. The real key would be a Social Club. We need a viable SC within walking distance to the G for members/supporters.
