  1. That time is now. Time for board changes and more IMO. Surely, the disingenuous way the president painted this in her email is enough to tell us time should be up for this group. Huge failure on the home base and their weird and controlling decision making around election rules and board matters. I want our premiership winning coach to have the backing of the board, which is why I initially liked Kate and wanted board stability. But the way they've told members to vote the last three years is a disgrace.
  2. I reckon he's a gun at stoppages, but gets a heap of handball receives when he plays half back, and when he runs forward from stoppage. He gets a lot of basically uncontested marks as well because he runs into the space. He's a brilliant player, but you can more than halve his disposal count by playing a runner on him to cut down on those uncontested possessions that help Collingwood maintain possession. Stopping him winning stoppage is tougher though and they block very well for him.
  3. No, I'm speculating, but I can guarantee you he didn't cool because of Trac.
  4. Bowser was a major component for every good piece of ball movement from half back in the first half for us. When he hurt himself we were stuffed.
  5. You are a harsh and ridiculous judge at times. Completely disagree with this. He's super clean below his knees, a nice kick and makes good decisions IMO.
  6. That's true. In that game, Josh went mad and was BOG.
  7. Let's just see shall we? Houston cooled because we refused to pay two first rounders. I'd be staggered if we don't take our 2024 first rounder to the draft.
  8. Had missed Hynes. Looks like a strong contested player in stoppage and in marking situations, good decision maker and will fill out into a tank. Bit of Trac and Clarry about him.
  9. The likely 2025 crop is also a tall one, so we can go all in on mids in 2024.
  10. So that'll be 10 list changes. Not saying I disagree, but do we have enough picks to even cover 10 players?
  11. That time in forward half last night is abhorrent. Just pathetic.
  12. He massively rushes his disposals, and dump kicks, which are definitely an experience thing. So as you say, learnings, but I wouldn't be counting on him playing a big midfield role. I like the high half back idea.
  13. Murphy Reid and Cotton look like they could play a small forward role to me. Agree in Owies and Wicks, and I wonder about Rachele.
  14. I don't. Nibbler won't be playing with us next year, so we had an eye to educating McVee on Daicos, and I'm sure we hoped he'd be able to nullify him, but around stoppage Daicos is so difficult to play on. And then for whatever reason McVee didn't hand off to a player higher up the ground or didn't go with Daicos. Daicos' movement was smart, his patterns are incredible, and it may have just been an inexperience thing on McVee and the rest of our team that Daicos and Collingwood exploited. I actually don't think it was a coaching thing. Because when Nibbler went to him in the last, he still had 12 touches, the same as he had in the first quarter. But IMO, it showed how very possible it is to heat Collingwood. If your tag works on Nick Daicos (and I know Josh got up there last night too), you.completely stifle their ball movement and their ability to score from defensive 50 and stoppage, because he does it all.
  15. I wouldn't be sure that we haven't done a deal for ANB already...
  16. Everyone looks better in a Melbourne jumper.
  17. We clearly wanted to give McVee some education tonight, so he played on Daicos, who pantsed him. Nibbler went to Daicos in the last quarter because we wanted to limit the damage. That didn't work as Daicos ran around got collected 12 in the last.
  18. Gee, it was a bloody ordinary performance. I know there was some experimentation, but I thought it in the Port game and I thought it all night, not sure Judd is a mid. Maybe he needs more exposure in there, so he doesn't rush his disposals, because I reckon 3 or 4 of his kicks resulted in turnover goals against. Some players (like Salem) are just better when the play is in front of them. Maybe it's more about releasing McVee to play that Rivers 2023 role of pinging off half back and allowing AMW to play the deep 1v1 on the dangerous small? Thought Kozzy was superb early, but as soon as he sort of got Moore, it was like it played on his mind, and he was never as electric as he was in the first half. I hope Viney had a huge tag, because he was nowhere. Aside from that KB game last year where we had their measure, we've become their bunnies. And they are scum. Need to turn the tables on them next year. Collingwood play with the arrogance that McRae has as a coach. Almost as if he has instructed them to toy with us. And we let them tonight. That forward half needs more x factor and I'm afraid to say it, but the Petty forward experiment, I think, should be put in the bin.
  19. Sydney has to be the worst minor premier in the history of the competition. Not only did they lose to the wooden spooner, they also had a 100+ point loss in there.
  20. So in other words, the board has done the classic 2024 PR move of let's say being deceitful to members vis a vis remuneration of costs and are simply hoping everyone forgets that they've wasted time and money fighting against better governance. My view and experience too, @old55.
  21. He's a right footer though.
  22. You want to put a brick through someone who wants to end poor governance and an elitest closed shop in your football club, because they send you an email? Peter is a passionate Melbourne supporter that wanted better from Melbourne and that included greater checks and balances at board and governance level. Meanwhile, Kate became a Melbourne supporter 10 something years ago. I'm not sure people really understand what's going on here.
  23. I don't think Rachele is as bad defensively as some are making out, but the forward pressure question is different depending on the game style being played. With a forward half territory game, inside 50 tackles are essential. But if we look to go a little quicker (think 2018 style corridor footy), hopefully we capitalise on inside 50s and convert them before the ball has a chance to ping out.
