  1. They also need to desperately rebuild quickly before Tassie. We just need one or two good years to re-set our list profile.
  2. The thing about Smillie is his kicking to advantage. It's very noticeable. Contrast that with our mids and half forwards, he'd fit in nicely. I'd like 2 or 3 picks in the top 15 this year, there's so much scope in this crop. I'll trust JT though.
  3. So did I and completely agree mate.
  4. Selwyn is the injury specialist, Burgess is the fitness specialist. Ideally we have both, but I doubt Selwyn would stay if Burgess came back. We absolutely need a new fitness specialist as our fitness was patently not good enough.
  5. it's still hyperbolic. The club will still be here... This is disastrous if true though.
  6. I disagree. Many people on Demonland seem to want change. It's pretty clear on and off the field we need change. I don't trust the club to do an unbiased internal review. We need a top down external review.
  7. Disagree. Third or fourth most successful coach in our history and will have us back up there again very soon.
  8. I reckon Langford is already that player though. He gives us ball use, whilst still being able to win his own ball and take a contested mark.
  9. Unless we can get two top 10 picks, we won't be able to land players like Langford and Lalor, but if we can land a top 15-20 pick, I reckon Cooper Hynes has a lot of the attributes that Lalor has, but is likely to go later. Then there's Murphy Reid who might provide us something a little different, but I don't see him as a Melbourne type player. However, if we could nab one (or two - fingers crossed) of Langford, Lalor or Hynes, I think we'd be rapt. If we can somehow manufacture three picks in the top 20, it completely changes our list profile. And I hope we'd want to complement this with some experienced faces too, whether it's a Jack Macrae, Cumming or someone else of that 26-30 age range that gives us more options through the midfield and half back.
  10. There's really no need for that framing.
  11. Why did we go with Adrian Anderson exactly? Quite happy to throw all the dollars at the courts to needlessly fight Peter Lawrence, but not happy to hire a proper lawyer to defend Kozzy? Get rid of our admin. They're hopeless.
  12. There's a lot of Bont in this particular game. Strong contested marks, floating deep to kick goals and then getting in done and bursting from clearance and hitting targets by hand and foot.
  13. Surely we have enough money to launch an external review?
  14. Financially or image wise or relationships wise vis a vis home base?
  15. External review, boardroom clean out, new pres, new CEO, and new head of footy. Doubt it happens though...
  16. King is spot on. Note, Goodwin bashers...
  17. He'd just finished top 4 for a third year in a row. This is BS. As is the stuff about government departments and universities. She's private sector all the way. As is the corporate flag waving and inclusiveness. But... I think we need a new board, new pres and new CEO, with the incomers guaranteeing Goody stability on field, with a refreshed footy department (with Todd Viney at the head).
  18. He reminds me so much of a more explosive Shaun Higgins around stoppage.
  19. Lalor is about 7cm shorter than Cripps.
  20. Yeah, we need to improve the culture, not get in more dockheads.
  21. I really like Lalor (187cm), but I also really like Hynes (190cm) for similar reasons. Good around stoppages and a really powerful mark.
  22. Langford, Lalor, Reid, Hynes and Jack Whitlock all look pretty good to me.
  23. That time is now. Time for board changes and more IMO. Surely, the disingenuous way the president painted this in her email is enough to tell us time should be up for this group. Huge failure on the home base and their weird and controlling decision making around election rules and board matters. I want our premiership winning coach to have the backing of the board, which is why I initially liked Kate and wanted board stability. But the way they've told members to vote the last three years is a disgrace.
  24. I reckon he's a gun at stoppages, but gets a heap of handball receives when he plays half back, and when he runs forward from stoppage. He gets a lot of basically uncontested marks as well because he runs into the space. He's a brilliant player, but you can more than halve his disposal count by playing a runner on him to cut down on those uncontested possessions that help Collingwood maintain possession. Stopping him winning stoppage is tougher though and they block very well for him.
