  1. I'd cut or trade 10 players out of the 22 this year. Jamar, Garland, Bail, Grimes, Howe, McKenzie, Toumpas, M Jones, Dawes and Terlich. Next year, Spencer, Trengove and Fitzpatrick will be in the firing line and if Watts can't continue his upward trend, he will also be in trouble.
  2. Rawlings is clearly doing a good enough job, given he's the only one that's been around since the last administration. Having said that, maybe it's time for a freshen up?
  3. Yeah, it's a tough one this. I pretty much agree with everything in this OP, but no other supporter base (outside of perhaps Fitzroy and even St Kilda) has had such a sustained period of hopelessness. The fact that our supporters now deal in a kind of apathy is perfectly human. To dismiss the supporters for this lacks empathy. It's not up to our supporters to get the players up and improve the culture at the club, it's up to the players and the coaches themselves. Let's stop the deflections and be reasonable, but let's also stay the course on this rebuild.
  4. Well, with the sub rule likely to go, we do need to play another ruckman. Gawn struggles to play out three quarters, let alone four.
  5. Well, they do that because that's all they've got. If they still had Buddy, they'd have a two pronged KPF forwardline. But that's Clarkson's genius and the sign of a coach that updates his game style to suit his team.
  6. By no means is making finals next year a pipe dream. I'm a film producer. If we didn't goal set, we'd be [censored]. The same goes for all business. Set goals. It's not unrealistic to expect us to win 10-12 games next year.
  7. Bloody hell. So Roosy's Monday probably consisted entirely of responding to member's emails. Let him do his bloody job. Come on, OD. What are we supposed to do as a club? Not aim for finals three years into Roos' tenure? If you don't set goals, you don't get anywhere.
  8. Just on that, what the heck was that three man midfield yesterday at one centre bounce? Jones ended up coming in as the inside slider and then stayed at the next stoppage, but was that deliberate or poor communication from our mids?
  9. Lol. We're kidding right? We think that the FD are playing Howe so that we'll have access to his spawn? I have a headache.
  10. Would someone care to explain the references to Howe's 100th? Who cares? What's the suggestion here?
  11. He won three clearances actually.
  12. Bloody hell. I'm not sure emailing Paul and PJ is going to do anything, but waste their time. I'd rather them working on ways to fix the team and the club, rather than respond to angry emails from members. Good on Roosy for replying though.
  13. Yeah, he doesn't work hard eniugh defensively, for mine. He can kick a goal and won a couple of clearances early on, but he fails to influence the contest for long enough or even be involved in it.
  14. I could see it in the first six.games. Our brand was based around contested possession. Lots of mauling packs and us trying to close down space for the opposition to work in. As the season wore on, our players tired and struggled to implement this game plan and lacked intensity around the contest, which is obviously fatal when basing your brand on contested possession. The similar thing has occurred this year. It's the inconsistency of effort to play the game style that requires hard running and discipline that undoes us. IMO, what we are trying to do was very evident by round 6 last year. However, it's a whole team defence, so if even one player is down on output and fails to deliver, the entire team will be rendered useless.
  15. Fair enough. I'd be waiting until the end of the year. Who the heck knows what we'll do over the next few weeks. No doubt though, some heads need to roll.
  16. I'm convinced it's the lack of onfield leadership. We have no one that sets the tone in matches, so everyone falls to pieces when the going gets tough. They've no one to look to and end up playing for themselves. We need to buy leaders. I'm not sure we can wait three years for our young stars to take over the leadership mantle. Next year is really when it has to start.
  17. No, although if could package him together with another pick or another player, we might make it work for ourselves.
  18. I'd be looking for a trade, but I'd easily part with a 2nd rounder at this point.
  19. So you're taking it to mean that there will be more changes than originally expected? Surely it hasn't surely since two weeks ago when Roos said there wouldn't be as many changes? Not saying there shouldn't be lots of players shown the door though. We could probably lose anywhere between 8 and 10 players.
  20. I just watched the presser. I must have missed that. I couldn't hear any of the questions. Did he mention list changes? It's possible there could be 10 or so, but we'd wanna be bringing in B graders at least, otherwise there's almost no point.
  21. Agreed. Michie's on the fringe though. Surely: Bail, Terlich, McKenzie, Jamar, Howe, Garland, Riley, M Jones, Toumpas. It'd be dependent on who we think would come in to replace them. I'd be tempted to keep Michie at this stage. Only for depth though.
