This is almost certainly part of the club's thinking releasing the Cross stuff beforehand. Anyway, I'll be there from the opening bounce.

I probably would have preferred to keep Crossy on another year too, but it depends who we've got lined up for next year.

Add Prestia, a fit Pedersen for structure, one or two pick ups like McKenzie, natural improvement from our younger guys and we'll win 10-12 games, IMO. We must eradicate any blow outs though and close the gap between us and the top 4 teams.

If Roosy and the FD determine he's one of those mentally scarred players mentioned previously (and he clearly is - Exhibit A, the Hawthorn game), I think we should move him on irrespective of the compensation we get. Yeah, we need players in his age bracket, but if they're contributing to a veil of negativity (and let's be honest, it's the players that drive this), moving them on is more important than giving them games simply because they're of a certain age and experience.

Money and a 3 probably 4 year deal, I suspect.

Well, I also thought he was terrific against the Saints and the Bulldogs. Particularly, the second half against the Dogs.

I remember the Geelong game pretty well. I was there and I watched the replay 5 times the following week. Every time Toumpas got the ball in that game, he failed to take the first option. From the outside, it was obvious each time what the first option should have been. He just over-thought it and failed to pull the trigger.

If so, I think he's probably just referencing Howe and Garland. Most would be aware about Howe though.

Come on, mate. Just winning two in a row won't make it any easier to call whether we'll make finals or not. That's a good little hurdle to overcome in the first half of next year though. I really don't think it's unreasonable to expect 10-12 wins next year and that still won't be enough for some people. We're showing steady growth each year. I'd prefer Roosy to coach for a 4th year and have Goody step in the 5th year, but unfortunately that won't happen. We'd all obviously love to play finals next year, but I think it'll be touch and go. We should be thereabouts though. By the time Goody steps into the role, we should certainly be playing finals. Given where we're coming from, in three years, that'll be close to incredible. As for the massive draft victories, every off season Roosy has been with us has yielded victories. Tyson, Salem and Vince in his first year and VNB, Brayshaw, ANB and Petracca last year. I'll back him in again this year. We certainly need an A grader in the door this off season and then a couple of role players to fill the holes in our best 22, of which I count 4-5.

As LT said, Watts will be better floating between the wing and the half forward flank. A bit of positional competition for Watts is probably good anyway. He could play anywhere though.

He struggled in our Geelong game, but I think he'll be better when we're moving the ball quicker, we get more uncontested possession and he can run, carry and hit long distant targets. What he needs to learn (as do many others on our list, including the captain) is to take the first option. He reminds me of a more severe case of young Nathan Jones, who used to get caught all the time, because he didn't take the first option. This is a result of poor coaching from early on in his career. We need to knock this out of him.

Rubbish. Our game will be based on moving the ball quickly from half back through the corridor or the wings. We need blokes who can kick it. Toumpas can. When Goodwin's more attacking game plan comes into things blokes like Jimmy, who can hit a target, will be vital.

Just watched the replay episode and Sheahan was brilliant. I hope he hosts it next year. That was pretty hard-hitting. At least, in comparison to the drunk.

What I don't understand is why they couldn't match the number of years. Because you'd probably take a reduced contract $-wise if the contract was longer. I have a feeling we have been in his ear since very early in the season.

Well, I'd easily pay that. It was rumoured we paid Dawes a lot more. Lynch provides a lot more. It's a win if it's us.

25%ish. Young side. Next year I hope we're pushing 50%. We'll win a lot more often if that's the case. I expect 10-12 wins next season. If we add Prestia and a few others, plus natural improvement from our young crop, we'll get there.
