  1. I'd go with the following: Jetta Frost O McDonald Hunt T McDonald Hibberd Salem Tyson Stretch Petracca Hogan Watts Kent Weideman Garlett Gawn Lewis Viney Oliver Vince Brayshaw Jones Emergencies - Melksham Harmes Pedersen/Kennedy
  2. I think Brad will go before Chris, but neither are particularly safe.
  3. I do. Half my family is Geelong. A very, very arrogant club.
  4. Hang on. So wouldn't that make the double-chance even less attractive?
  5. I just hope it doesn't rob us for a chance or two during GWS' dynasty.
  6. They're digging a hole for themselves. But they sort of have to in order to get anywhere during Dangerfield's career. They can't go back to rebuild mode.
  7. Yeah, Geelong are going nowhere. If Dangerfield doesn't win the Brownlow again, they won't get near the top 4. Tuohy is a half-decent role player, but Hibberd is a better bet. I look forward to 2-3 years time when both Scott brothers are out of the game.
  8. I think the rest of the league will look back on SOS' time as a list manager at GWS and Carlton and realise he was an incompetent disaster.
  9. An absolute disaster, mate. As is this. I feel a bit dirty for my Dion love now. Clearly he's not the messiah, he's a very [silly] boy. They're bloody lucky in a way that the Swans played ball with them and gave up Mitchell for merely pick 14.
  10. Yeah, I just saw this pop up on my Facebook feed. If we can make the top 8, who knows next year. Anyone can win it from the 8. I just hope when we're vying for the top 4, this rule is eradicated, because it really does rob teams that have earned their place in the top 4, IMO.
  11. No Salem? A team without Oliver will not be our best team. IMO, he will be our best midfielder in time. If he can stay fit and has a good pre-season, he'll average mid 20s for posessions in 2017. Looking at some of these teams makes interesting reading though. I reckon the players really under pressure for their spots in 2017 are: Jetta, Frost, OMac, Vince, Garlett and Melksham. I'd personally add Kent to that list, but the FD seem to allow him to play games on end without seemingly impacting for weeks. While Pederson and Weideman will rotate a bit as that second or third forward I'd say.
  12. Yeah, I wouldn't be going for Dear either. I'd be looking to layer in more pace and kicking ability across our list. Hibberd and Lewis will certainly help our kicking. I just hope Melksham improves his kicking and decision making. I'd be going hard for Josh Kelly and Andrew Gaff types from now. Lovely kicks of the footy, smooth movers and quick outside ball users. We're at that stage now. Which is terrific. For some reason I've always thought we'll pick someone like this up in FA once we're in our 'window'.
  13. IMO Hibberd is a much better ball user. Hibberd is more defensive, plays as a defender, a good, long kick and is reasonably strong one-on-one. Melksham is a winger that could play off half back or half forward, use his pace and break some lines. But he's not extreme pace like Hunt. Personally, I think Melksham butchers it by foot, but can occasionally kick a good goal. A highly rated junior that crumbled a little bit IMO at AFL level. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts to Melbourne. Particularly with a year out of the game.
  14. There is a difference between talking to Rockliff and asking the Lions the question. I know that was not what was stated on Demonland, but it's entirely possible we when discussing Dunn that we also asked about Rockliff. Doesn't mean we ever spoke to Rockliff though. Doesn't mean we weren't interested in him if the planets aligned either. Anyway, it doesn't matter now as we've clearly used up all our ammunition on getting the Lewis and Hibberd trades done.
  15. I'd be going hard for Kelly. He's the player we need.
  16. No, I wasn't we pay Prestia the same amount. Much less. Sticking to our original offer.
  17. You can see the narrative the press are going to run with though, can't you? Sprouting things like 'Will Lewis lift Melbourne into the top 8'. They seem to be saying yes, but certain pockets of the media (if not all of it) clearly didn't think we'd make it next year without him. Prior to Lewis coming on board, I would have been very surprised that if we'd been relatively injury-free that we wouldn't win 12-14 games. That would get us probably into 8th position. But with Lewis, there's no doubting his experience in tight contests will help us and perhaps be the difference at least once, if not more next season. If things go really well, it's not impossible to see us finishing on the cusp of the top 4. It all depends on how quickly our guys grow and develop. The Oliver's and the Petracca's in particular.
  18. Hilarious if true. I do just want to put it out there @Wiseblood and co, that if Richmond decide not to give up their first rounder and the deal stalls, would we be interested in making a final offer for Prestia? Let's say we could get our hands on an early second rounder and we packaged that with next year's first rounder, would that be enough to get the job done from the Suns' perspective and would you do it? You needn't guess what I'd do.
  19. I heard he and Hannebery had fisty cuffs on Grand Final day. Mitchell was already off before then and now it's simply trying to get Tippett off their books to lessen the squeeze on their cap and return to some sort of team harmony.
