The sentiment that implies that a love of a coach is more important than respect. But perhaps it was a poor choice of words. My point was more that I'd much prefer players respecting the coach, than loving them.
-
It's been a long day. Let's try wary.
-
I've never quite understood this sentiment. Roos was clearly a straight-shooter, who coupled this with years of footballing experience as a player and coach, commanded respect. Coaches who don't put noses out of joint are those that fail to make the tough decisions. It's been mentioned before, but what happens when Goodwin is the man to make these tough calls? Can he make them, as well as maintain the relationships he's already cultivated? I'm a little wary whenever I hear the line about the players loving Goodwin.

Won't get there though, with two years left still on his contract. He's 32 and can barely get back on the park anymore. He'll be done in two years.

Who's in your top 8 for 2017?

Richmond have swapped one injury prone mid for another and got a B grader (at best) in Caddy. Buckley can't coach either. Freo I'll admit is a slight possibility, but only slight. -
I wouldn't be surprised if Roos really rated him, hence his mind-boggling selection most weeks he was actually fit, but Goodwin doesn't rate him. And he'd be right not to. The time is right for Chris to move on.

You've been told about this Saty, time and again. I know you like to live in la-la-land, but there's no way AFL footballers go around confessing their true intentions to random strangers who watch training sessions. That said, I think it's more likely Frawley was pushed by us and probably would have been happy to stay in the end.
-
I would have thought that this is a relatively obvious scenario to counter with the correct wording. Whoever writes these rules for the AFL (presumably their legal bods), either don't know the game or they half-bake their legislations. If my film lawyer wrote contracts with this much scope for error and lack of clarity, I'd be firing them straight away. As Chris says, the rules as they are in this instance, state clubs "may not trade any other future selection". It's not that they've even really found a new loop hole. They've just invented one now on the fly. It's rubbish, IMO.

I saw this on one of the Facebook groups and LOLed. Just a big old no from me.

Really, Old? Surely you don't think Richmond can make it, let alone Collingwood. I'm not convinced on Freo either. They'll certainly be better, but I reckon Lyon's game style is finished. Can he reinvent himself? I actually think the Swans' experience and 'big brother complex' will ensure they stay on top of GWS, but I'd be backing GWS for the flag next year. I'd also expect the Dogs to get into the top 4. That leaves one spot in the top 4 that's open. Now, it depends on how far Geelong and Hawthorn slide. They're both eminently beatable these days and will be more so next year. So I'd be looking at a team like Adelaide to take that fourth spot. That leaves a string of other teams that you could raffle: Hawthorn, Geelong, West Coast, Melbourne, Port Adelaide, Essendon and St Kilda. Collingwood will be a mid-table team again next year, as will Freo. Richmond will find themselves there too or even lower. That leaves the Suns, Carlton, Brisbane and North. So something like this IMO: 1st - Sydney 2nd - GWS 3rd - Bulldogs 4th - Adelaide 5th - Geelong 6th - Hawthorn 7th - West Coast 8th - Melbourne 9th - St Kilda 10th - Port Adelaide 11th - Essendon 12th - Collingwood 13th - Fremantle 14th - Richmond 15th - Gold Coast 16th - Carlton 17th - Brisbane 18th - North Melbourne -

Lol. -
On the contrary, I'd much prefer our MCG home games to be against Victorian-based teams. So far we have two NT games where we MAKE money against interstate sides (the Suns are particularly low drawing in Melbourne) and another away game at Etihad that we don't lose on. That's a win so far.

Marvel is very meh, so I doubt he'll have much to work with. But it's a nice pay day.
-
Poor time slots hurt sponsorship though and I think that's why he'd be most [censored] off.
-
I'd be inclined to agree with all of that, except I'd try Jones across half forward instead. Play to his strengths. IMO, he's not the great kick, but his attack on the man and the ball is first rate. That could also prolong his career too once our younger guys take over. In 2018-2019, the guys that should be playing the majority of minutes in the middle are Oliver, Viney, Tyson, Brayshaw, Petracca and even Salem. Jones should play a little time there, but I think he's going to have to play half forward and half back the majority of time.
-
He's [censored] off because we shouldn't be relegated to Sunday twilight, particularly two up and coming teams. That hurts sponsorship potential, but at least it's not our home game. If it's a commercial failure ticketing-wise, it falls on St Kilda.

Shall try and get my hands on it. I did a bunch of research a couple of years ago for a series and I've only just worked out how to make it. Now it's just got to be accessible. The series makes sense from a financial point of view, because you can reuse sets, props, costumes etc. That's my thinking as well, but I think like a producer because I am one.
-
I prefer earlier, although the 1850s and 1860s is a fascinating time and place. I shall. You let me know about yours too. Omeo's beautiful! My biggest concern at the moment is making a colonial TV series accessible. Even Jimmy McGovern couldn't get it right. Our colonial history is bloody fascinating, but it's how you tell the story. I found Australian History dead boring in high school, but love reading about it myself.

Not online. Haha.

Yeah, it's great, isn't it? And now he's directing the next Thor flick for Marvel.
-
It's not, but I've got another series that is.

I haven't but I know of it. One of Sue Brooks' films. I take it you disliked it haha?

Yeah, VDL is great. One of my editors cut it. Lovely looking film. I'm developing a series set in Tassie at the moment, so that was definitely an influence at some point.
