Agreed. I've been advocating for a while that AVB and Kent weren't good enough, so it doesn't bother me. Just that the unity within the best 14-16 players is still strong.

This is more likely.

I know he was injured. Might point was across 2018 at all. I only heard there was frustration earlier in the year. But obviously I'm speculating, with very little to go on.

Unless he wanted midfield minutes...

Read the thread, HH. It's all been covered.

I'm speculating here, but I wonder if Kent, Hogan, Tyson and AVB were some of the players that didn't appreciate being played out of position earlier in 2018. I hope esprit de corps continues to strength the spirit within the group and with a couple leaving the club, I hope the boys solidify their commitment to each other like the Geelong and Hawthorn sides of the recent past.

Premiership quality? What does that actually mean, DD? He's proved himself to be a good little role player in his first season and that includes some real impact in a final or two. What are you expecting? That every player is an A grade superstar of "premiership quality"? I know you don't think that, so I hope you'll soon see you're simply venting due to coming to grips with Jesse leaving.

Because he fills a need in our best 22 and we are in our window. FCS. You don't win premierships by playing it safe. Time to win that 13th flag. And as others have said, I doubt it will be as simple as May for a first rounder. It'll likely be May and something else (likely KK) for that first rounder.

Further, what I'm about to say may appear convenient now that he's leaving, but his lack of tackle pressure just doesn't fit our forward system. He's a very good young player and easily in the top 3 KPFs under 25 in the comp. But I back our FD to improve the list here too. I think it's a hang over of MFCSS for me, but I've always backed him in a Melbourne jumper, however never fallen in love with him like I have Clayton Oliver. I've always felt a slight fear of commitment to him as he has failed to sign that long-term deal that would have put off the constant speculation.

We get the occasional poster every year that is 'worried' that the FD won't drive a hard bargain and will get [censored] over. At what point does it become clear to some people that we are a well oiled machine these days? I suspect never.

Why not, RM? It's like a poor script assessment. "Don't like it." "Why?" "Don't like it."

Can't we do both? ?

If you ask Hawthorn fans they'll tell you Buddy used to go missing in the big games too. He hasn't been great for Sydney either. Serviceable at times but not great.

He's ordinary. Vanilla.

Urgh. He's so ordinary. You're wrong on this one, Jason Taylor.

No he wasn't...

I'd do that but spend the first rounder on a ready-made (Shiel, Whitfield, Kelly or Gaff-type). We don't need another draft pick.

Langdon is a butcher. I'd prefer Hunt and that's saying something, because his kicking is ordinary too.

I'll take May, but he's a bit of a faux tough guy. The old L Dunn again IMO.

So is this the Cox effect at Collingwood? The element of a successful side that every other team tries to replicate the following year. Like Richmond's move it forward at all costs and crumb at contests.

I agree with this. If true, what we could get in return could and should improve us. But... are we basing all of this trade speculation on Jon Ralph, Denham and a Facebook "quote"? Or have a missed something? This thread has gone off tonight and Demonlanders are [censored] their dacks for it. Nup, he's gone. It's over. Accept it, Wise. Jeez, you're holding onto it, Wise. You're delusional. [censored], [censored], [censored]. Unless I've missed something, there's not much more than there usually is RE: Hogan to Freo.
