Jumper Numbers 2020
That is a ridiculous video. Just provide the bloody numbers, you weirdos.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
There's a grammatical irony in this post, OD.
-
WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - MITCH BROWN
He's a rookie. He's depth. If we are injury ravaged, he can inconsistently play a role. You can't smash it with every rookie pick. I wasn't a fan initially, but it makes enough sense for 2020.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - MITCH BROWN
If that's the case, I wonder who we were after at 3. I'd hazard a guess that it was Young, but we cooled on him for whatever reason. Probably because Young could be seen as a bigger risk than Jackson.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - MITCH BROWN
Personally, I think they've got it wrong. Petty should play back and Smith should play forward, but what would I know?
- Best 22? / Next 22??

Jumper Numbers 2020
Leaves 17 open for Bennell. ?

Welcome to Demonland: Trent Rivers
You're right. I get more excited by mids or KPFs than I do by anyone else. Incidentally, I'm intrigued by Rivers for his potential of rolling through the midfield.

Its the forward line stupid
No chance we could get the title of the thread correctly written is there? It's triggering my OCD.

Its the forward line stupid
Sometimes, but Richmond's predictability hasn't hurt them, nor did Hawthorn's.

Its the forward line stupid
Fritsch could be yes. Smith isn't a footballer. He's an athlete. Maybe he can bring some pressure in the forwardline, but his decision-making leaves a bit to be desired. All opinion of course.

Its the forward line stupid
Agreed, but I think we need to get far more creative with our set up. Think Richmond 2017. Over a single pre season, they managed to completely rejig their forwardline and the only gun they had was Riewoldt, so they built around him, added Caddy and then a bunch of speedy contributors. I'm not suggesting this is necessarily our best way forward (we don't have enough pace), but we certainly need to play to a better/different forward system. One that enables forwards to create space (and quick ball movement will help with this), but also enables us to play predictable football so that everyone is on the same page.

Rating Our 2019 Draft
If Jackson can stay in contests (due to his lack of bulk), we can absolutely play him alongside Weideman and Tom. My concern would be more around Weideman and although he is quite good below his knees for a big fella, his pace is not great. This means, to me, he remains easy to rebound against. Meanwhile, Jackson doesn't appear to be as easy to rebound against. We've seen his agility, so it's almost like playing a zippy small or mid sized player. It's just that he happens to be 200cm.

Rating Our 2019 Draft
Good post mate, but Jackson doesn't have the body size to play the number 1 KPF IMO. Defenders will easily (if they're smart) body him off every contest. His agility at ground level is what might enable him to contribute. He needs to get to contests and when it hits the ground (if he doesn't mark it), he needs to get to work. If he can do that, he's a chance to be helpful, but even then he'll need a bit of size. Still think McDonald is our number 1 target.

Ed Langdon Arrives
Seems a ripper bloke, but there will be now questions over him from Demonland regarding his photography. We all know what happened to the last photographer we had.

Rating Our 2019 Draft
Haha. So we could draft Robert Harvey, Robert Flower and Tony Lockett, and you'd still be unhappy because although superstars, they never won a premiership. I guess you're right, mate. I'd prefer we drafted Mitch Morton and Steven Armstrong (again).

What to do with what is now Pick 74?
I really like your posts mate, but you do have a tendency to overrate players, particularly when compared to where they end up being drafted.
-
Ben Sokol
Hahaha, brilliant. Seems so long ago now. We've had a few handy West Aussies over the years, not only on the field, but on Demonland. PSD, ET, Steve and the wonderful list goes on.
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
Geelong won't be a threat in 2-3 years time. Carlton will be.
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - LUKE JACKSON
Sharp seems to have a bit of Bernie Vince about him, but a bit quicker and with a bigger tank. Am I ballpark at all with that comparison, mate?
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
Urgh. Anyone but Carlton. He's going to be a gun I reckon.
-
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
He was a freak. Tore it up for Scotch a few times.
-
Deven Robertson (Drafted by Brisbane)
I'd be happy to look further afield (ie not another mid) if we land Green at 3, otherwise I'd be okay with Robertson or Kemp at 10 if we select Jackson at 3. But at the end of the day, you should always select best available IMO.

Deven Robertson (Drafted by Brisbane)
I'm going purely on highlights, but the 1%ers seem very Selwood and remind me too of the sorts of desperate things he does in game. Will be fascinating to see if Freo pass him up twice. I doubt it. You don't average 30 touches in the Championships if you're a mug.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Pity the press can't help themselves. Just leave him alone.
