  1. 3.7 that quarter. At least four of those behinds were absolutely gettable. Should be 60+ ahead.
  2. brb putting humble pie in the oven.
  3. Brisbane had 7 shots from 10 entries. We had 5 from 13. We badly need to tighten up defensively if we're not going to quickly turn things around offensively.
  4. we are comfortably the worst team going forward. Both of our goals have been ****ty random goals out of nowhere.
  5. Brisbane is in second gear. If they go up a notch it's a 10+ goal loss on current pacing.
  6. case in [censored] point. two entries for two goals. this is pathetic.
  7. I can't see us winnjng this unless Langdon, Salem, Petracca and ANB start giving us some [censored] space and run. Every single possession is under pressure. We go forward and it's high and slow. Teams go forward against us and almost always have a clean shot on goal..It's just rubbish.
  8. Dumbest 6 minutes of football I've seen in years. Jesus.
  9. It's ultimately a battle of the midfields tonight. The best offense vs the best defense. If we can't score against Brisbane's leaky defense then I'll have major concerns. Teams are scoring off the back of transition from defense after poor entries -- the rebound over time kills you. It could get very ugly if we go forward the same way we did against Collingwood, and Brisbane transitions as quickly. No matter how strong we are defensively it is so difficult to stop Brisbane's momentum. Genuine 50/50 contest tonight.
  10. I use the "employable" gauge. As in, how likely is someone to be employed simply on the basis of how they look and present themselves? Body language? Behaviour? I'm not talking tattoos and hair. Just how they carry themselves and "look". De Goey and Ginnivan are what I called "The Unemployables". Otherwise knowm as "The Permanent Performance Plans" and "Chronically Late". They might win you games but dont be surprised if theyre seen slinging tricks at Mens Gallery on a Tuesday night. Tarrant was always going to turn it around.
  11. Fatigue and sustained high performance are definitely an issue. There's the elephant in the room with regards to hypertension and high heartrates in otherwise healthy young people after having had the vaccine AND caught COVID. Under-reported on but definitely present.
  12. I don't understand the allure of Friday night from a fan perspective. From a commercial standpoint I get it, but night games in general are good once in a while but become a chore eventually. I'd love a string of Saturday 1pm and even Sunday 1pm games. Carlton have always been large broadcast drawcards even when they were crap, Melbourne clearly doesn't pull in big viewing volumes.
  13. If we lose to the Lions fair to say an elimination final is locked in. Geelong gifted a run to finals every [censored] year.
  14. Kmart Petracca on a trip to Kmart Amalfi Coast.
  15. Between The Herald Sun's "African Gangs are taking over" and The Guardian's "Everything is offensive" I'd say they're all as bad as one another.
  16. No doubt. But the Cats lost Ablett and Hawks lost Franklin. They both won flags after they left. Both were far and away their respective team's best player at the time. Jackson isn't even our best yet. He'd barely scrape top 10 on current form. If team's want him on the basis of potential and potential alone, and he's leaving on that basis rather than actual form, then it's not the end of the world. We move on and identify new talent.
  17. Imo if there isn't news either way by the weekend, he's as good as gone.
  18. If someone said that a flight risk would play a huge role in winning you a flag in only their second year you'd take the bloody risk. If he goes I'd be disappointed but it's not like he's bailing on us at a time of need ala Scully or soon Horne-Francis on North.
  19. AFLW is going to end up exactly like the WNBA. But no one dare admit it. It's fantastic to inspire young women but it's grossly over-invested. The expansion was far too quick. A smaller league with 3-4 marquee teams would have set it up for success. Instead they went the American expansion route and basically have to bankroll it for at least the next two decades. At least. No one is engaging with and paying for AFLW to the level needed to make it viable. The same can be said for GC and GWS. Tasmania would undoubtedly be self-sustaining. The problem is more to do with the cost benefit analysis on the media market and purchase intent of the demographic. But I don't see how this any different to, say, Geelong.
  20. Was bound to happen at some point. Jackson and Weed as a one-two combo should frighten most teams. Weiderman is a veteran of the club now whether we like to accept it and needs to step up. It took Max until his 6th season to step up. This is Sam's 7th. No better opportunity for the kid to step up.
  21. He is delusional if he thinks this is even close to 2021. He mentioned we went 4-4 and a draw over an 8 week period last year. We lost some games but not to the degree we are losing these. And never three in a row and certainly not on our home deck. I am all for learnings and I get he is trying to inspire hope but I do hope he can see what's going wrong here. He is speaking in vague words and metaphors. Forget about 4 losses in 8 weeks. We're staring down the barrel of 4 losses in 4 weeks.
  22. Somehow, magically, we've still conceded fewer points than any other team. And will remain like that until round 15. Our worst three weeks in a while and we are still the best defensive team in the league. Goes to show how far ahead we were in the first 10 rounds.
  23. Cox on 3 entries in a row would signal with his hands in the air to the Melbourne player to kick it to him. Everyone laughed and then the Melbourne player...would kick it straight to him. And each time, we had the ball while an open forward line waited. It is frustrating to watch and is a massive problem.
