  1. I guess it's based around my dad. He came to Australia in the early 50s with his parents and 2 younger brothers from Italy. Went through primary and high school without many friends because of his accent and culture. Of course everyone played football and barracked for a team. There were really only two teams that people seemed to follow, and that was Melbourne and Collingwood. Of course Melbourne always had the wood over Collingwood, so it always seemed as though Melbourne had more supporters. My dad, trying to fit in, used to play football and when people would asked who he supported, he'd say Melbourne because, well, everyone else did lol It became more than just a popularity thing, and soon my dad became a die-hard, going to every game during the 70s and 80s and although he has died down a bit in the last decade because of illness, he still has red and blue blood and it's moved over to me, my mum, two sisters and everyone else on my dads side of the family, and I'm a melbourne tragic.
  2. I mean, honestly. 7 losses in a row in 2005, still made the finals, albeit just after a win in round 22. Last year we won 11 of 12 after losing first 3, which is what we have to do from now on in to make the finals and end up with a 12-10 record which you'd expect would be enough for a 7-8 finish. Who would have thought that inconsistentcy would be warranted in any circumstance...
  3. Yeah, let's rush Miller back into this side...
  4. D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-idak !!!!!
  5. Cameron Bruce and Daniel Ward
  6. Godders beats Thompson, Harvey, does partially well on Judd and Kerr, Holds Kornes and Bell and you want him to take Didak, of all players...?
  7. And so the winning streak ends at 1...
  8. Yeah I was actually just thinking of that. He might stay at one week.
  9. Daniel Bell might take that cake.
  10. Never expected him to play. As much as I like Bucks, I seriously think it's time for the guy just to give up. They've done fine without him. Get in the coaches box and help from there.
  11. Don't think Heath Shaw is playing. Didak will get off. All they have to do is show the Goodes footage and he'll get off.
  12. Like I said, doubful but possible. I don't see it happening, but they can get on a role and we know that. I seriously have no expectations. Besides, I'd watched everygame this year, and been to every Melbourne game, up to last weekend. So that was 9 losses I'd witnessed. Worked on Saturday and they won. I'm going on Monday, but then I'm going to Europe until August 6th. So, you'd have to say that I'm somewhat of a bad luck.
  13. Yes I would. I wouldnt care who it was. I don't want to be paying my membership, which is partly used to pay their salary, while they play high on cocaine. It's unfair, wrong, unethical and illegal. Ben Cousins has taken full advantage of the system imo and I have no doubt in my mind that he was caught once before and on the second time decided something had to be done so as not to be caught a third time. Fancy someone in his position, leader at one of the most successful sporting clubs in the country, playing a professional sport, in the eye of the public where people admire and look up to you, while high on cocaine. If he, or any other player caught take illeciet drugs, plays against or for my team, I'll boo till my lungs are sore and my face red. No sympathy, no respect and no understanding. I don't want any drug addicts at my club.
  14. We lost 7 in a row two seasons ago and still made the finals. We lost 9 in a row this year. I don't see why we couldnt win 10 out of 11 and be 7th or 8th by that stage. Hardly impossible. Challenging and doubtful, yes, but hardly impossible, especially if previous Melbourne seasons are anything to go by.
  15. I don't want a drug addict at my club. I don't feel sorry for him and never will. It was his decision to take the drug for the first time, and in doing so broke the law, and insulted everyone who looks up to him. He is the scum of the AFL and he doesnt deserve to play another AFL game. 1 strike and your out imo.
  16. I don't want to get cocky or anything, but I have a good feeling again Collingwood. If we can beat an inform Adelaide side, why not an inform Collingwood side that are probably 3 or 4 places behind the Crows?
  17. Don't you mean down from Darwin
  18. I think that it is unfortuante that he has had the most goals kicked on him this year than any other full-back. He hasnt been as instrumental as last year, but still solid, hard and courageous.
  19. I can hook up my DVD recorder to foxtel and record it if you're very desperate...
  20. The only thing Miller has ever brought to this side is good looks...
  21. Yah. I was thinking that as well. Walls is a dud. I can't believe I actually agree particially with him on something.
  22. I won't be there today because I'm work but I think we'll win today as well. My sister is sms me quarter break scores haha but then again, Melbourne bring disappointment down to an artform... but gotta be positive!

    No Passion?

    with who? lol
  24. Yeha, that was a joke. I probably WOULDNT trade either of Jonno or Bruce, but Green in a heartbeat. But if I had a choice, I'd trade Bruce over Jonno.

    No Passion?

Whether you like it or not, minorities in this world always make the loudest protest. In this case, they are making the loudest silence. There are a majority of Melbourne fans that are passionate and love the club, but when you get crowds like that there can't help but be an uproar; they were disgusting figures. Everytime Mike writes something on Melbourne, you can tell he is writing it as a passionate Melbourne supporter. And he is not so much having a go at the fans, but rather the situation and the club. Mike is one of us, though probably not anywhere near as passionate as us, and I doubt he is a tragic like some of us. But he is a fan nonetheless and he always hurts when the club is down and it shows. And he praises us like the lord when we are up; he is a typical Melbourne supporter.
