Well I mean, it is only round 1. We're missing two key backmen. Viney is badly underdone. We lacked experience in the defensive 50. We were younger overall vs them. Eagles were average round 1 last year. We all know how that turned out. Pies were making similarly mindboggling mistakes last night. Richmond hardly blew people away on Thursday. You gotta take the bad with the good. We were very average but reality is we have 21 games to make amends. It was a poor performance. Oliver Viney Gawn Brayshaw Mcdonald had little to no impact. We only lost by 23 points. Would have been closer if Jones wasn't such a spud. Let's get real hear. Two of the aforementioned have decent games and it's game on, we potentially win. And that's with three defensive generals missing. you just can't kill yourself over a round 1 loss. Would you rather this loss now, or leading into finals?

Twilight for me. Start at 4:10pm, game finishes at dusk by 6:45. Gives broadcasters room to generate hype and build events prior to the game. And it leads directly into primetime television. Businesses in the city would greatly benefit: blending GF crowds with night life crowds in clearer cohesion. Fans benefit by offering a better atmosphere and experience at the game. Broadcasting allows people to stretch out the day and create more of a celebration, starting later and providing more flexibility. This is my opinion. I don't really give a [censored] either way.

What a lot of people forget is how drugs actually stay in your system. Yeah it's all random but players drink, some smoke. We know this. If a player as a joint after a match to unwind, I don't see anything wrong with that. It's better than them going out and downing 10 beers. But marijuana stays in your system for weeks. You can do cocaine on a Saturday, get tested on a Wednesday and be clean. Weed should be discouraged like alcohol and smoking. If a player has a BA reading of 1.0 they're not getting suspended are they? The only way to get 0% use of illicit (cocaine, ecstasy) drugs is to do testing every day. Or at least have set testing to maximise coverage. So tests every Mon Weds and Fri. Even having a strict 4-week ban on the first strike doesn't actually address the fact that most illicit drugs can be easily filtered out of the system in a fast and efficient way.

I'd say beating the Eagles in round 22 2019 was as happy as I'd been as a Melbourne supporter in about 18 years.
