WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY
DV8 replied to DemonLad5's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's improved, for sure, but is still risky, heart in mouth sort of stuff. That doesn't allow our defence to feel more calm. Frosty may continue to improve, and maybe not far enough? We have to build security into our list, so the team can be its best. Your right we need skilled runners, but May isn't stopping us getting those. He's sure-ing up a different area. Tall backs. Midfield is a different thread, to be sorted. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY

Oscar is very young for the main man back. not strong enough yet. Lever is not a Key Tall Back, but moreso the 3rd tall intercept. and has had 2 Knee Reco's. Frost is a risky limited backman. Petty and Keilty are both Kids, so far as big Defenders go. So IMO, May is ideally placed for us, Re his maturity, experience & age bracket. It covers the other defenders on our list fairdeewell. . -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - STEVEN MAY

I'd be OK with that scenario, P5 & 6 for Hogan. Then P6 & our 2ndRnd pick to GCS's, for May, P18 & Kolidasnij. -
... see how this sort of talk Re our new kids, is damaging their mindsets. Talking of them like they're super-heroes, before they've even earn't a disposal the hard way.
-
Pick 5 or 6 has to be the starting point, along with 9 or 10 for Jesse. Then we can roll P5/6 into more picks IF we want... or go to the draft with Pick5/6 and take a young gun. I don't believe in placing all our Golden-Eggs in the one age bracket. And whoz to say that all our young-gun Mids will be stars for us? OR un-injured.

He's (Buckley) changed, he's grown a lot, the past 12 months. Very very noticeably. Done a great job, in 2018.

I know what hes saying... what I'm saying is, to change a culture out, to build a fresh one,,, a club has to cut strings with many experienced players... to change things. I put Howe in that basket. No slight on Howe... but it was a plus for us, to show balls to start making hard decisions. The club had to grow its own balls, instead of leaning on the MCG, and all that stuff. It had to again when we rid ourselves of the less committed types, who weren't goers... to the displeasure of many supporters. But we did, and look at the new-way we attack the contests, in this 2018 year. ... it's a breath of fresh air in the lungs of a stuffy old Mfclub. .

How do you figure that. We got it right.
-
The Eagles were tiring too, around that same time.
-
Maybe a telling question, 'DZ'.
-
Anything to do with comb-over Morrison ? or brush-over sort a thing.
-
Yeah, I heard him say that.
-
Injury, well, yeah... and his efforts in strengthening his weaknesses, and ailments. Like the weak courage muscle... and his 2nd, 3rd & 4th efforts, etc. Because the 1st one was also weak.
-
We're about to find out I reckon.
-
agreed blzbb... WE forget about his mother.... and family. They will have a big say i'm sure, in Jessie's thinking. not necessary west. But it's looking like a fresh start to me, for sure.

Or maybe Crossy gets him in his Cross-Hairs? a superfit Preusst would trouble a lot of defences ? a big lad... Mummy on speed. -

This is what concerns me to. -
I'm not great at spelling, Aaron. who is superbad ? ah ! I haven't heard of that movie. So, can Michael Cerra play a bit ?
-
I think Preuss, (& possibly May) was the end for Pedo, and puts tSmith back as rookie. similarly Keilty.. Keilty may have been better off in the draft, rather than rookie ? runner, ??? or playing assistant, at Casey? maybe even a rookie spot ?
-
May-be, a Mick's-Multi, 'MaH' ? Anyway I feel we'll all be cellarbrating with Martinis all round... shaken, not stirred.
-
Are we getting Jonas, ET ?
-
just brilliant.
-
I agree RL There is a lot at play in this decision, for the Hogans... He and his mother might want a fresh start, away from memories in the west? Maybe, maybe not. Also the AFL would be very happy for some players of Jesse's ilk to support the GCS's... and the GCSuns will have plenty of Cap $pace... and they'll be hunting high and low for experienced players who can hit the ground running, for next season. no kids. This will make Freo ante-up, as well.

Gills equalisation is... ahappenin' thing. And as you say, all very merry.
