  1. He's improved, for sure, but is still risky, heart in mouth sort of stuff. That doesn't allow our defence to feel more calm. Frosty may continue to improve, and maybe not far enough? We have to build security into our list, so the team can be its best. Your right we need skilled runners, but May isn't stopping us getting those. He's sure-ing up a different area. Tall backs. Midfield is a different thread, to be sorted.
  2. Oscar is very young for the main man back. not strong enough yet. Lever is not a Key Tall Back, but moreso the 3rd tall intercept. and has had 2 Knee Reco's. Frost is a risky limited backman. Petty and Keilty are both Kids, so far as big Defenders go. So IMO, May is ideally placed for us, Re his maturity, experience & age bracket. It covers the other defenders on our list fairdeewell. .
  3. I'd be OK with that scenario, P5 & 6 for Hogan. Then P6 & our 2ndRnd pick to GCS's, for May, P18 & Kolidasnij.
  4. ... see how this sort of talk Re our new kids, is damaging their mindsets. Talking of them like they're super-heroes, before they've even earn't a disposal the hard way.
  5. Pick 5 or 6 has to be the starting point, along with 9 or 10 for Jesse. Then we can roll P5/6 into more picks IF we want... or go to the draft with Pick5/6 and take a young gun. I don't believe in placing all our Golden-Eggs in the one age bracket. And whoz to say that all our young-gun Mids will be stars for us? OR un-injured.
  6. Injury, well, yeah... and his efforts in strengthening his weaknesses, and ailments. Like the weak courage muscle... and his 2nd, 3rd & 4th efforts, etc. Because the 1st one was also weak.
  7. We're about to find out I reckon.
  8. agreed blzbb... WE forget about his mother.... and family. They will have a big say i'm sure, in Jessie's thinking. not necessary west. But it's looking like a fresh start to me, for sure.
  9. Or maybe Crossy gets him in his Cross-Hairs? a superfit Preusst would trouble a lot of defences ? a big lad... Mummy on speed.
  10. just brilliant.
  11. I agree RL There is a lot at play in this decision, for the Hogans... He and his mother might want a fresh start, away from memories in the west? Maybe, maybe not. Also the AFL would be very happy for some players of Jesse's ilk to support the GCS's... and the GCSuns will have plenty of Cap $pace... and they'll be hunting high and low for experienced players who can hit the ground running, for next season. no kids. This will make Freo ante-up, as well.
  12. Gills equalisation is... ahappenin' thing. And as you say, all very merry.
  13. leaving soon... all aboard !
  14. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-10-08/after-the-siren-the-trade-that-shook-the-footy-world-in-2001 "Chris Judd, Luke Ball and Luke Hodge had had the recruiters salivating all year. The Hawks would eventually choose Hodge and would not experience even a moment of buyer's remorse. He has been one of the all-time greats of a club chock full of champions. The Croad trade remains one of the all-time great ones. The final deal also saw emerging, but homesick key defender Luke McPharlin also traded to the Dockers, with the Hawks receiving additional draft picks in return."
  15. Hawks/Freo - Trent Croad Melbourne - Frawley Hawks - Franklin
  16. Interesting, you mention Bernie. I hadn't considered him. But he could go around for one more, to help the 'Suns' sort through what a healthy culture looks like. They do need maturity and leadership, to straighten up many with wayward ideas. May is gone imv. And the 'Suns' should want him out... They would NOT want any senior player who is not 100% committed to the footy club, to shape its future with positivity.
  17. I think WE at Melbourne get way too sympathetic and romantic over players who have a good story,,, but proved very little when it actually counts.
  18. (Re Steven May) What do you think is most important to the GCSuns, at this point for their club ?
  19. We need more speed and run, and delivery, from our mid-sized players. IMO, we cannot play too many, not with speed and high disposal quality.
  20. We need to improve in ALL areas. AFL footy never sleeps... nor does it stand still. Speed and marking strength + small forwards. and improved depth to vulnerable areas.
  21. Pick 6, your kidding. Not enough to do a deal. Even if Hoges wanted out. 2 picks or Freo can zip off. Anyway who says Hogan would go to Freo, or West Aus', for that matter ? Maybe he would be tempted to go to help up on the Gold Coa$t ??? I hear they need replacements, to ante-up ? And are cashed-up. Maybe Jesse wants to play midfield with us, or wing/half-back ?
  22. Yes, his focus has waned, thru tiredness... past 3 matches or so. I'm not sure if one match off will do it now. He's fatigued and looks spent. His heart says go for it,,, his head looks clouded.
  23. And a wide selection of Valves as well.
