Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
The location in East Melbourne (Yarra Park) is Wrong. We are trying to grow the club base at grassroots level, and so this location is the last of the 3. I would think. We are aligned with Casey. And we're trying to connect with our original supporter base, which the largest is around Malvern to Oakleigh, Bentleigh, and those suburbs, etc. we are going to grow out in the Sth East corridor out from Melbourne's suburbs. we will have large prospective numbers of people out there, IF we can make a direct link Via public transport... Jolimont just makes yet another step in the transport journey, for those prospective supporters to undertake,,, in getting to, and leaving to get home. We are talking about the reduction of driving to games, and so the location IS Imperative to our Growth_ Location Location Location. We have almost everything right, except the locality of the home base. If we are to attract big numbers of our supporters to training, and to after-games, and functions, our new HQ should be adjacent to the biggest Rail-Line, and with Tram stops present, as well. It must be at the Richmond station, to attract our support base, and to make it easier for them, getting to, and home afterward. I say down with East Melbourne ----- It's just too hard for distant supporters, to make the trip, on another step to Jolimont. __ are we developing Casey, and the Sth-Est Corridor,,, or Aren't we ?

We don't want to become the new Saints. unable to win at the 'G'. We can defend well currently at Etihad. Bit more difficult to control opposition, at the 'G'. We need more speed around the midsection, for the Mcg. The Flower's, Stretch's, Johnson's, all did well around the Mcg.

fantastic. I truly hope so. Rory would make a great addition to our chances, IF he does come back to Vic.

I don't agree; we have a lot of coalface operators,,, 1st touch merchants, but we need 2nd touch clearance type players with fine skills, who can take the ball out of the traffic, & deliver it to our players on the outside. Sloane is handy, both in tight traffic, and also when he's out in some space. He can kick a goal on the run, and he finds his targets, with the ball. We do NOT need, pure outside footballers.

He wouldn't want to be as expensive, as the figures being bandied about.

This is what we all want and are saying, but there are many different ways, of getting there. The break away speed players who can run, and nail targets on the run, are what we lack.

hah, I am glad to hear that ! I can understand carltoon and gaff. The game is about to reduce rotations,,, and space will open up, so gut-run, and 'speed',,, will both be in demand. We have some gut-run, but barely any speed. We need much more of it, in & around the middle, and half back. Dion Johnston is a keeper, at this time. IF he can learn to develop at the defensive end; he might have a future there, but also, if he can find his mojo down back; he may yet find he can play around the middle.?

This happens at Melbourne board level too often in our past. We had too many thinkers, that think they know how to,,, and jump on Board, only to leave us floundering in the mudheap, having gone no-where. This club needs people of real courage and vision; for our future... Not on-field, but our off-field future; to grow this clubs base.

Dormant is right, they are in boxes, swyl. The thing is the progeny are out there, but in other colours, these days. Or other sports. We have to start at ground Zero again, Open up the club for passing trade (Richmond Station), and remake our base.- New CEO - Gary Pert
I'm smelling an AFL push around these matters. Ans since PJ was saying he would stay on 12 months if necessary, to mentor the incumbent. Now it seems October is the deadline? Somewhow I don't feel like this, is all our boards walk?- New CEO - Gary Pert
its time we took a good one.- New CEO - Gary Pert
What do you mean, swyl? I am for Pert.- New CEO - Gary Pert
Most likely they did RM. ... but what IF the choice was down to a shortlist of say 3, and the board was divided on close choices. _ and then, what if the choice was leaked from head office, before the board had chosen ? What then ?- New CEO - Gary Pert
"cleanskin", not wearing any collingwood identifying paraphernalia. but rather showing Melbourne's identity.- Jordan De Goey
I don't know the difference in market values,,, only the clubs would. But I do know that a top 10 pick would go a long way towards that end, as trade in part for De Goey. Now I know we all like Gus, but unfortunately he is a long term risk. We are not the complete list, that people have been talking about in recent seasons. And I know one pacy player is not the answer, just as Diamond Jim was not the answer on his lonesome,,, back in the 60's. We need to include about 3 quickish players into our lineup, IMO. Stretch might be one? Hunt at present, isn't. DShiel would go some way to help. Degoey would be fantastic. Gaff wouldn't, IMO. Buying in, would mean, we have to make some tough (ruthless) decisions with our list. We have to enter trade;,,, and yes trade some favourite players.- Jordan De Goey
Brayshaw for top 10 pick. ... pick ontraded for De Goey ?- New CEO - Gary Pert
