  1. Not against drafting Mav as a delisted free agent depending on how other trades go. But would certainly wait until the delisted free agent period before doing it and would certainly make sure Cross was done first.
  2. Assuming we de-list Magner, which I still think there's a good chance of us doing, I think we should take an experienced tall forward with our 2nd round pick in the rookie draft given Calrk & Dawes's recent injury concerns. I'd been thinking of Khan Haretuku, but if Thorp was available I wouldn't be against giving him a shot. Isn't he cousins of Garland?
  3. My guess is we'll end up holding onto our first two round draft picks as there won't be any reasonable trades on offer for them.
  4. Would be more then happy to see Chapman & Sloane joining Cross at the Dees next year!
  5. Cr*p! Still no harm in feeling him out though and getting in his ear and try and convince him to seek the trade. That contract status does make it difficult though!
  6. You do make a point. Given the shallow draft this year, I'd probably be willing to part with a third round pick for him, but not 2nd. That's reserved for Zac Jones, or if he's gone, one of Dunstan or Dumont.
  7. The guys been getting mentioned a bit around here, mainly by me I know... So I thought I'd start a thread for him. http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/player-profile/shane-savage Turns 23 in the new year, is a qucik and aggresive forward/midfielder who I reckon could add a bit to our team, in fact be our main small forward! Played 15 games this year for a total of 56 and has kicked 37 goals but he's never nailed down a fixed spot in Hawthorn's team as he's been contending with the likes of Rioli, Breust, Puopolo, Hill etc and is often playing further up the ground. Out of the team come finals time and he may be looking for more opportunities elsewhere. I reckon he'd be a perfect fit and automatic best 22 for us and we could possibly get him with a 4th round pick (which will be early to mid 50's) and maybe throwing in a Neville Jetta or Dan Nicholson who could both help add more run to the Hawks who's midfield is starting to age just a tadd. Wonder what other people's thought on him are? Averages 14 posses, 4 marks, 3 tackles and a tick under a goal a game.
  8. You never know but I don't suspect so. I'm not one of the one's for drafting Boyd. I know he'll be good but we already have Clark/Dawes for the next 5 years or so, Fitzpatrick for 8 and Hogan for 10. I'd be more then happy if we did score Pick 1 to trade it to St Kilda in exchange for Montagna & Dal Santo to join Cross, Aish & Zac Jones that will form part of our midfield along with Viney, N. Jones, Toumpas, Sylvia & Trengove.
  9. This could turn out to be one of the worst managment decisions of all time! He must have plenty of skeletons in the closet. But watch this space as far as Hawthorn are concerned....
  10. Ellis Savage Longer Hampson & Kraouker But they all fit needs at the clubs I've linked them to IMO.
  11. To get this thread back on track, here's some rumors, some I've heard, and some made up: Daniel Cross has committed to us via free agency. Maverick Weller & Jordan Gysberts both potential delisted free agent targets of ours, likely only one will be signed. Xavier Ellis likely free agent target of ours. Shane Savage is firmly in our sights, potential trade in exchange for 4th Round Pick and one of Jetta or Nicholson. Franklin GWS bound as a free agent. Martin will go to Hawthorn if GWS withdraw their interest which they're likely to do once they confirm Buddy. Hawthorn likely to give up 1st round draft pick & Buddy FA compo pick. Dale Thomas to Carlton as Free Agent Eddie Betts to Adelaide as Free Agent Taylor Adams to Collingwood for Heath Shaw and possible swapping of later picks. Sam Docherty to Carlton in exchange for Chris Yarran, possible swapping of picks. Jared Polec to Port Adelaide for their 1st Round Pick. Patrick Karnezis to Collingwood for 2nd Round Pick. Elliot Yeo to West Coast for 2nd Round Pick Billy Longer to Western Bulldogs in exchange for Ayce Cordy and swapping of picks. Dom Tyson to Richmond for 1st Round Draft Pick & Robin Nahas. Shaun Hampson to GWS in exchange for Kristian Jaksch & 2nd Round Pick Sam Fisher to GWS for Josh Bruce & 3rd Round Pick Delaney to St Kilda for 3rd Round draft Pick Oh and I almost forgot. Darren Jolly likely Delisted Free Agent signing at Richmond and West Coast also showing interest in Andrew Kraouker.
  12. Possibly not, but if that does happen then it gives us a chance to watch Roos earn his money in one of the areas he's best at. Identifying fringe players from other clubs that we can get for little cost who will excel under his influence. It can start with the likes of Cross, maybe Roos feels he could turn Jordan Gysberts and Maerick Weller around, Shane Savage could get more opportunities at Melbourne, Mitch Hallahan also. Maybe George Horlin-Smith's a bit upset at missing out on games in the 2nd half of the year? We may not get any big names, but we may be able to get some players who just haven't had the opportunity to shine as of yet?
  13. That's a pretty good call Ben-Hur, I'll pay that!
  14. Believe it or not, but given our shallow midfield I wouldn't completely be against signing him on a 1 year deal as a delisted free agent to see what Roos can do with him. For me it would be weighing up whether to do that, use pick 80 odd in the draft or use a pick in the PSD where there may not really be anyone available anyway. But I'll back Roos in on this one.
  15. Adams also received a diversion order, which means that the officer that charged him didn't think it was overly serious as you can only get diversion if the police informant consents. Adams hasn't put a foot wrong since. There's still big question marks over Martin.
  16. As I said in post 215. If he nominates us as his prefered club. That's why.
  17. Not if he nominates us as his club of choice.
  18. As P-Man said Robbie, it's no longer 1991, in fact it's now 22 years past. Just don't think it's a good look at a time where women still getting paid less then in several senior roles is an issue. Just the start of many reasons why as the title suggests "Tony Abbott is an international embarrasment" when Afghanistan have more women in their cabinet.
  19. Well he was taken at Pick 12 in the 2011 draft and had injury issues in his first year. Played 13 games this year and showed a bit of talent and would walk into our 22, so I'd suggest Pick 18/19 or wherever it would be is what it would take. Other clubs would trump our 3rd round draft pick.
  20. Don't recall ever comenting on those two.
  21. Difficult to do as of now, but this is under the assumption we get no priority pick, Sylvia & Watts stay, Cross comes on baord as a FA and we grab Adams, Docherty & Savage in trade period. FB: Garland, Frawley, Terlich HB: Grimes, McDonald, Docherty C: Watts, N. Jones, Adams HF: Sylvia, Dawes, Evans FF: Hogan, Clark, Savage FOLL: Jamar, Cross, Viney INT: Howe, Toumpas, Trengove SUB: Tapscott EMERG: Dunn, M. Jones, McKenzie Edit: Added Savage
  22. Mate's uncle is on the Filth board. Whether that makes it gospel or not who knows, but that's what he told me mid season.
