Still reckon we'll also land Cross. So..... FB: Garland, Frawley, Terlich HB: Grimes, McDonald, Vince C: Cross, Michie, Viney HF: Watts, Dawes, Evans FF: Hogan, Clark, Byrnes FOLL: Jamar, Tyson, N. Jones INT: Howe, Toumpas. Trengove SUB: Tapscott EMERG: Blease, Dunn, McKenzie Apart from securing Cross as a delisted free agent, would also love to see us sign Weller also and convince Tomas Bugg to enter the PSD. From what I'm hearing we wont land Lyons. Draft: Pick 9 - Nathan Freeman, Matt Crouch, Dom Sheed, Marcus Bontempali or Christian Salem Pick 40 - Cameron Giles Pick 57 - Would love Mitch Honeychurch but more realisticly Jarrod Stokes, Chris Cain or Dayle Garlett if Roos is happy to take the punt.

Still reckon now's the time to be getting into Bugg's ear and convincing him to enter the PSD!
-
Can't see why anyone would given his intollerance to all races and and pending police investigation......
-
I reckon Bugg has the ability to play Wing/HB. Not as sure on our need for Buntine? Pick 9 we should be able to land one of Freeman, Crouch, Sheed, Bontempalli or Salem all of whom fit our engine room needs. Would prefer Tyson and Pick 9 and convince Bugg to head into the PSD, but we'll wait and see I guess.

Worst deal ever.......
-
Only problem with trying to get Michie in the PSD is you've got no guarantee GWS wont take him first. That's why a trade would be best. Convincing Bugg to enter the PSD is the way to go!
-
Is he still yet to sign a contract extension? PSD for Bugg please!!!!

Sylvia compo (Pick 24) to Freo in exchange for Michie & their 2nd round Pick (37). Tapscott, Pick 37 & our 3rd Round Pick (40) to Adelaide in exchange for Vince, Lyons & their 3rd Round Pick (46) Melbourne: Gain Michie, Vince, Lyons, Pick 46 Loose Tapscott, Pick 24 & 40 Fremantle: Gain Pick 24 Loose Michie & Pick 37 Adelaide: Gain Tapscott, Pick 37 & 40 Loose Vince, Lyons & Pick 46 Don't think anyone really looses out of that. Potentially Adelaide, but hard to call it a loss.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON
MadAsHell replied to angrydee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Think it will actually be Pick 9. Some of the players we may have available will be Freeman, Crouch, Bontempalli, Sheed and Salem who will all be good players. Expect all of Boyd, Aish, Kelly, Scharenberg, Billings & McDonald (F/S) will all be gone inside the top 8. Two more of the 5 above named players will also likely be gone, or possibly only 1 if Lennon goes early, though I don't suspect we'd be looking at drafting him. So any of Freeman, Crouch, Bontempalli, Sheed & Salem would be good additions for us to go with Dom Tyson. -
Should be easy enough. Two year deal and bring him on board as a designated defensive half forward. Get him to stick on the oppositions most dangerous rebounding defender and always make them accountable by playing through Mav as much as possible. Sounds like a pretty good deal for Mav to me!

Sorry, didn't realise there was already a thread. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THXKrtyHFhs Looks to have good hands and isn't affraid to put his head over the ball. As I said above, we should get this kid into the PSD and he could potentially have a starting gig on the HBF for Round 1 next year.
-
Lets get the clubs Tassie boys Garlo, Howe and Robbo to get in his ear. Get Weller on board and we can once again become the club of destination for people from the Apple Isle. Weller & Cross come across as Delisted Free Agents. Trade Michie in for a 3rd round pick and get Bugg in the Pre-Season draft and we've gone some way to fixing our midfield depth problem at very little cost.
-
Reckon our best chances of off loading him are probably to Collingwood given they now only have Grundy & Witts with Hudson on the rookie list or Port Adelaide who still don't have a dominate ruckman with neither Lobbe or Renouf yet to really establish themselves. Hawthorn are also a potential suitor as they may feel it's to soon for Longer to be the number 1 ruck and Hale is best suited to a forward/ruck role.
-
If he's still there at Pick 20 in the rookie draft then yes. He'll likely be gone by then though.
-
Allegedly wants out of GWS. Running Half back who's 2 years and 32 games into the system. Reckon we should get in this kids ear and convince him that PSD is the way to go for him as I reckon there's a spot on the HBF for him, Strauss, Blease & Clisby to all fight for. http://www.gwsgiants.com.au/player-profile/tomas-bugg Gippsland Power boy, so hopefully our link with Casey which is heading out that way may hold us in a good place.

I agree with what you're saying DD, however I'm suprised he nominated Carlton. Personally I don't see him in their 22 if they were injury free. One of the first emergencies yes, but not in their 22. If he came here he'd be starting FP, HFF or Wing. Odd decision for someone looking to further their career IMO.
-
I'll put mine out at the end of trade period.
-
Pick 38 is actually currently Pick 34, I'm factoring in FA compo picks. Assuming Collingwood get 11 (Thomas), Hawthorn 19 (Franklin), Carlton 21 (Betts) and us 24 (Sylvia). Pick 38 will be the final pick of the 2nd round which we can use to land Cameron Giles who I'm really keen on. Especially given the uncertainty around Chip.

afl.com saying he's deciding between us or staying with the Dockers. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-08/trade-wrap-tuesday "Fremantle midfielder Viv Michie has returned to Victoria to weigh up his future, with offers understood to be on the table from the Dockers and Melbourne. Michie, who was recruited with pick No.44 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, has only played one game in three seasons because of persistent foot injuries. He finally overcame his injury issues in 2013 and averaged 26 disposals in 16 games with WAFL club Peel Thunder, winning the best and fairest award. St Kilda had shown interest in the 21-year-old, but AFL.com.au understands his decision will be between the Demons and Fremantle, which is keen to retain the on-baller." Come on over to the Dees Viv! Can see him on a wing or at half forward rotating through the midfield.

So, where to from here with pick 2?
MadAsHell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
The more reports I'm hearing, the more I think it's likely that we'll end up holding onto Pick 2 with our only realistic trade for it being to Sydney for Parker & Smith and if that goes bust then we hold onto it and go with Aish. Reckon we should focus more on trying to secure Savage & Michie and then adding Cross as a delisted FA to help our midfield depth. -
From the club website: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-10-07/trade-winds-monday Makes mention of a couple of Swans players in a package and mentions Nick Smith. Could be worth noting, especially seeing as Chris Pelchan has said Saints aren't trading Pick 3. Could Parker be the other player? Maybe it's Pick 2 for Smith & Parker?
-
Pick 23 for Savage & Pick 38, make it happen Dees! Trumps anything Carlton can offer. Dandenong Stingrays boy from Noble Park, the alingnment with Casey should be rght up his ally!
-
Cheers dbj. Hopefully today's the day! Reckon he could be useful at half forward and rotating through the middle and wing, he seems to have an ok inside game to go with his outside run. As I said, ideally I'd love for this trade to be done early in exchange for Jetta and maybe a swap of 4th round picks. Don't want to trade our 3rd rounder as I'm really keen for us to land Cameron Giles with that pick and I doubt he'll still be there by the time our 4th rounder comes along.
-
I'd take Bugg for sure and play him off half back, reckon he'd be a good fit for us. Bit of pace and I reckon would only cost us one of our 2nd rounders (assuming we get one for Sylvia). Buntine I'm not sure. He seems one of those players that doesn't really have a position which we probably have enough of....
-
Need something to keep me occupied until the real thing begins, so I thought I'd predict what trades we'd make and how we'll be looking heading into the draft. Under the assumption that Collingwood & Hawthorn get band one compo for Thomas & Buddy. Picks 11 & 19. Carlton get band 2 for Betts, Pick 21. We get band 3 for Sylvia, Pick 24 and Richmond get band 5 for White, Pick 51. Trade Jetta & 4th round pick (59) to Freo for Michie and their 4th round pick (74). Trade Pick 2 to Brisbane for Rockliff and their 2nd round pick (29). Trade Tapscott & Pick 29 to Hawthorn for Savage and their 2nd round pick (38). Trade our Sylvia compo pick (24) and our 3rd round pick (40) to Essendon for Myers & Colyer. Extend Taggert & Nicholson's contracts for 12 months and delist Magner. Sign Cross as adelisted free agent. Head to the draft with picks 23 (Luke Dunstan or Patrick Cripps), 38 (Cameron Giles) and 74 (Chris Michaelides) Rookie Draft with two picks: 2 (Jay Lever or Peter Steffe), 20 (Mitch Thorp, Andrew Ainger or Aaron Cornelius who'slikely to be delisted). Wonder what other expect/hope to see?
