  1. Don't like it at all, mainly because of the conditions we have to play in at Darwin always leave us flat for the following week. Obviosuly there's financial reasons behind it, I'm just dirty that we missed out on Hobart. If we have to play home games anywhere outside Melbourne, I'd take Hobart over Darwin. I'd even take Wellington over Darwin! Hopefully in a few years time we'll be able to play them all at the G!
  2. We can. Injuries and off season will tell a lot. I expect Hawthorn, Sydney & Fremantle will be there abouts again and after that we're as good a shot as anyone.
  3. Watching the game tonight and i think this must be the first time i've watched a Dogs game that Luke Darcy has commentated. This guy has to be up there with Eddie & Derwayne Wussell with the biggest cheer squad members in the commentary box. Not hiding who he wants to win one iota.
  4. Watching tonights game makes our loss to the saints two weeks ago all the harder to swallow. We're much better then both these teams! Edit: Saints
  5. They sure did to, and good on them. They're still soft though and will cause zero damage come the business end.
  6. Don't think we'll be trading for Zak after that effort!
  7. Buddy getting a football lesson from Rance tonight. We can't all be as good as Hogan I guess!
  8. Yep. 2016 a lock. And 2017 a real possibility. Will be good to see him notch 50 club games.
  9. I'm certainly not against the idea of moving to Toorak Park. But I'm pretty sure it's shared not only with Old Xavs, but a cricket club also, but I stand to be corrected? If that's the case then we'd need a summer base also. Is it an option to be based at Toorak Park from March to mid October and Casey Fields mid October till end of Feb, or would that just not be practical???
  10. Tigers doing their bit to make the 8 and make sure they got knocked out first week!
  11. Kent falls into the same category as Viney, Brayshaw & Hogan for mine. I see him as untradable (unless it's too good to refuse) due not only to his ability, but his attitude. Kent along with the other three I've mentioned above are team culture changers. Competative, fierce and wont take a backwards step. The offer would have to be out of this world for me to be happy about trading him.
  12. This will sound odd, but for me only change. IN: Fitzpatrick OUT: Riley Fitz in to cover Sinclair in their forward 50. Riley to travel there with Kennedy-Harris as emergencies while Hogan and Garland can blow out some cobwebs at Casey. FB: Fitzpatrick, Dunn, Jetta HB: Cross, T. McDonald, Lumumba C: Watts, N. Jones, Tyson HF: M. Jones, Dawes, Bail FF: Howe, Spencer, Garlett FOLL: Gawn, Vince, Viney INT: Brayshaw, Neal-Bullen, Toumpas SUB: Stretch My thought process here is that we always struggle the week after Darwin, so with holding off on bringing Hogan, Garland and Kennedy-Harris back for a week, it means we should have three fresh players to bring in the following week. Also rewards the 22 who played against Geelong with minimal changes. As far as West Coast's dangerous forwards go: McDonald covers Kennedy Fitzpatrick to Sinclair Dunn to Darling Cross to LeCras & Jetta on Hill.
  13. So did you decide that before or after hekept Tom Boyd and Jesse White goaless with Boyd only having 1 handball and White only 2 marks? For what it's worth, i don't think Fitz will be on the list next year. Think he'll be traded.
  14. I do agree with that point WJD, however you still need the players available to move on.What i mean by that is the only other players we have coming out of contract are Riley, Pedersen, Cross, Hunt and the rookies. Cross and Pedersen have done enough to warrant new deals IMO, the rookies are showing very promising signs down at Casey so that only leaves Riley and Hunt. You could make a tough call on Hunt, but the poor kid hasn't really had a good run. Roos himself on a recent episode of Roos views described him as very exciting which gives me the feeling they may stick by him. Then of course there's Riley who could well get the chop. There's reasons for and against. The final option would be cutting contracted players eg: Terlich, M. Jones, Michie etc, however you do that to often like we did last year and you run the risk of your club picking up a reputation amongst other players and the AFLPA of being a club to avoid as they cut players mud contract. All things for the list managers to take into consideration.
  15. Still think this off season will be the calm before the storm of offseason 2016. Based on the fact that of a weak draft coming up, needing another year to see where the likes of Trengove, Hunt and our rookies are at as well as getting another pre-season into the likes of Hogan, Petracca, Neal-Bullen etc. If we delist Jamar, Bail & McKenzie and trade out say Howe, Grimes & Fitzpatrick that gives us 6 list spots. Trade in an experienced outside mid with pace and an another ruck to battle for a spot with Gawn. Can then promote Vanders & Harmes which allows you to draft two kids in the national draft and two in the rookie draft. This would then also mean at the end of 2016 Goodwin can make a call on the careers of: Cross (1 year at the end of 2015) Terlich M. Jones Spencer Pedersen (1 year at the end of 2015) Riley (1 year at the end of 2015) Trengove Hunt (1 year at the end of 2015) Michie Newton White (extra rookie year end of 2015) King (extra rookie year end of 2015) 1st Rookie selection of 2015 rookie draft 2nd Rookie selection of 2015 rookie draft Allows him to really take ownership of the list right from the start.
  16. Fair enough. Everyone entitled to their opinion.
  17. Yeah he's certainly in danger. Reckon he may get lucky with a 1 year extension, but don't expect the offer to come until well into trade period I reckon once they know how the list is shaping up.
  18. Reckon they're all developing well. I'd be tempted to promote Vandenberg & Harmes and keep King & White both on the rookie list for another year.
  19. Not bad, although it's a very shallow draft. You may be better off promoting someone like Harmes on a 1 year deal (like Clisby) then taking a speculative pick at 68 on an unknown kid who you may have to keep on the list for the extra year. Reckon Harmes is progressing nicely down at Casey.
  20. What a shame the only two players listed that weren't in post #506 are contracted for 2016.
  21. Even they must be getting sick of the same opposition at least!
  22. Hope we keep Col on a 3 year deal. Agree with Howe. Agree with Jamar, McKenzie & Bail. Expect Harmes to be upgraded with Vandenberg for 2 year deals. Hunt given his injuries I suspect they may give him a one year deal along with Riley, Pedersen & Cross. Agree with Gawn & Toumpas re 2 year deals Agree re King & White Expect Fitz to be traded.
  23. Have the Scorps played a game this year the day after Melbourne yet? Seems one player is missing out on playing every week!
