Went along yesterday, had a great time with 18yo son (who suggested we go) The ball movement by our team was silky and both teams defence was excellent. Lots of young women in the crowd which was great to see but had to tell an old boofhead to pull his head in when lecturing a couple of young people about "the history of the game" "It's women like you!...." spare me days!!

It is not just the umpire's fault - blame the gambling industry. That is where the problem lies. It's insideous reach into all sport culture is appalling. For a sport that claims to be a family one, the way that the AFL have danced with the devil is disgraceful.

His run of form had started in Vic Country's previous game, against Western Australia in July, and carried through, with the two-way running midfielder picking up 27 disposals in each of the Bushrangers' final two games. The brother of Gold Coast's Elijah and son of former Tiger Ben, Hollands could be a midfielder in the style of Melbourne runner Ed Langdon. He just gets to work. Fair to say that when viewed over a period of 18 years or so, the best teams do seem to get rewarded but those teams do change over time. Hawks were a destination club 5 years ago...not as unbalanced as all that (except for GC & GWS)
