  1. Only if we do it to their big three.
  2. Lewis cost us that last goal. He had the opportunity to tackle on HB and elected to let the player with the ball go in favour of sticking with his man, who he then didn't stick with.
  3. I have us one game outside the eight with North just above us. We need to win at least one of the improbables to sneak in on percentage. That game against the Saints did immense damage.
  4. I'll take it. Obviously a 100 point win with better accuracy would have been nice, but we absolutely dominated a team that we should dominate. It looks like Joel Smith might be on his way back to Casey. He's still a work in progress, but right now his lack of game sense is hurting the side too much. We need to get rid of the Darwin game ASAP. The players are going to be stuffed next week.
  5. 6. Oliver 5. Brayshaw 4. Gawn 3. Salem 2. Viney 1. Petracca

I'm happy with this call. He has experience with a genuine powerhouse in Collingwood. With luck he'll have a good idea of hw to help Melbourne expand.
  7. His problem isn't lack of opportunity. When he's fit he plays. The problem is that he's constantly injured. That's not going to change with another club and I doubt that other teams are going to want to take the chance given his history. Best he can hope for is Fremantle I would think.
  8. Quick note here on Bert. He felt that he didn't have time to work up a relationship with the existing set of assistant coaches and support staff in the Australian camp, so he's paying the wages of his own team of assistants, analysts and scouts out of his own pocket. I'm really hoping that the support team in the Football Australia had in place are still hanging around and learning from these guys. That experience will be priceless when Arnold takes over after the World Cup. Article.
  9. It's Carlton. They get special rules just for them. Bonus Friday night games, priority picks, immunity from investigation even when one of their coaches comes out and says they tanked to get Kreuzer... I wouldn't be surprised if they wound up with the top three picks this year.
  10. Seventeen years old and half a head shorter than his Father. Can we expect a late growth spurt from him? Not that he really needs it, but it would be an added bonus if he wound up his Dad's size and build.
  11. Best part of this is that he was being chased by a number of clubs and chose to come to the MFC.
  12. So 20 disposals and 3 goals 3. Do you call that a good game or mark him down because it should have been 6 goals? He missed some pretty simple shots and dropped an uncontested chest mark right in front of goal, but I also saw some hard ball gets and defensive work.
  13. I just watched the highlights. He kicked some very nice goals, but I note that his traditional issues were still on show. He still can't take a mark cleanly in his hands which will hurt him during the regular season and he got a couple of pretty soft frees as well. Still, a good effort from him.
  14. Honestly, the photo's are quite reassuring. Look at the focus on his face when he's kicking. He may not have the body, but that makes me think he might have the mental side covered. Hope I'm not reading too much into a few pictures.
  15. Don't forget sliding knees-first into grounded opponents.
  16. The pathway only gets them onto an AFL list. I said nothing about what happens next.
  17. I think I'm actually most excited by this guy. He has the two things we desperately need in pace and kicking skills. He could be a real bargain.
  18. Casey has been amazing as an AFL pathway. Look at the guys who have been picked up from there. Silvagni, Mohr, McInerney, Smith, Keilty, and now Fritsch. There may be others as well that I've missed. That's a pretty great record for a VFL side. I don't know how many others have produced that many mature-aged recruits.
  19. He looks to be a decent kick and can certainly get his own ball, but I don't see this pace everyone is talking about. He's certainly not even close to Boomer Harvey in that respect. I note that the Fox panel had Moore ranked at 11. We took Spargo instead, presumably because of his reputation for being competitive. I guess time will tell, but I think the Hawks got a bargain.
  20. This one is going to take a few years before we really consider giving him games I would think. The great advantage of having a strong line-up with some depth behind it is that you can take your time with the kids and not play them until they are ready.
  21. I want it to, but I think they're missing some key points with their planning.
  22. Get real? We have the worst disposal in the league. We have no forward structure. Our greatest strength is a brigade of tough nut midfielders who can't kick. We have never seen any evidence that our talls are able to work with each other instead of getting in each others' way. The team still falls asleep for large portions of games. Realistically, I think we're a damn good chance to go backwards next year.
  23. Is it wrong that I'm hoping to see them take the flag next year? Assuming that we don't of course.
  24. Again, not a single tackle in the entire reel. I'd love to hear from someone who's seen him play whether he puts in defensively.
