  1. I wonder if West Coast see an opportunity here. If they were to shop around a player or two in a package deal and nab a top ten pick, they could make a quick deal with Melbourne and snatch Jesse right out from under Fremantle. It's highly unlikely, but it would be absolutely hilarious if it happened.
  2. Third in the Brownlow. He has to be doing something right.
  3. Two in the top ten. I like it. Pretty sure Gus will be right up there next season as well.
  4. So the outgoing intern played a joke...
  5. They'd look even more ridiculous than they do already. They've been chasing him since before he played his first AFL game. Every year they start a media blitz trying to convince the world that he's coming home in an attempt to create dissent at Melbourne and shake him loose. If, after all of their efforts they reached a point where he was actually available and then turned around and said they wouldn't pony up for the trade, they would look like an absolute basket case.
  6. So to my mind (assuming this is accurate) we have: 1 - Jesse was asked to make up his mind and did so, deciding he would prefer to play for Melbourne 2 - The clubs were too far apart on the price and the deal was scrapped. 3 - Fremantle pulled out for a reason we do not know. I list these in what I would consider to be order of probability. I look forward to seeing the dissection in the media and any comments from the club for clarification.
  7. But we had such grand plans for those picks!
  8. Two different angles on the same news item.
  9. Lets be clear here. He has exactly the skill-set we need. He's a silky, skillful, pacey outside mid/flanker who could prowl the wing and deliver to our forwards. If we can keep him off the drugs and booze, get him eating properly, training properly, sleeping at night and generally acting like a professional sportsman. No way in hell do we take him.
  10. I do find the media chatter to be interesting. GC will get pick three in compensation for Lynch is apparently fair and what he's worth. Shiel will probably cost the Bombers this year's and next year's first round picks, which they think is a bargain for the Bombers. Melbourne are asking two first round picks for Hogan, we're dreaming, no way he's worth that, dodgy foot, attitude issues etc etc. For the record Hogan is two years younger than Lynch and has him covered in almost every statistic, so if Lynch is worth pick three then we're in no way out of line asking more than that.
  11. Actually, it's a question.
  12. I want to know how far May is off a lifetime ban. He's been rubbed out a few times. Got five weeks not that long ago. Do you give a first round pick for a 28 year old who's one stray elbow away from a lifetime ban?
  13. I have to wonder. How many weeks has May been suspended in his career? I know he's gone a few times. It's been one of the big knocks on him. Anyone know how to find out?
  14. I'd rather work on getting Frost to be our Gorilla Tamer. Edit: Also, he's asked for a trade to Brisbane. That's gotta hurt the Pies.
  15. So who do Freo have that we might want? Brayshaw?
  16. So some AFL writer, possibly McClure, said today that he thought pick five from Freo should be enough to get them Hogan. Seriously? Does the Dude even watch the game? We have one of the best young KPFs in the game, he's contracted for next year and he's always said he's happy playing with us. In what world would we accept unders for him?
  17. I could see him carving it up at Casey.
  18. It's our patented Spam attack. You just keep belting the ball into the 50 and eventually the laws of probability will catch up and one of them will result in a goal. Repeat endlessly and hope your defence stands up to the opposition's more refined attacks.
  19. That dinner with his parents is interesting because his Mum reads what people say online and he gets to hear all about what Demonland4276 said about him.
  20. Jones sets an example by playing the way the coaches want the team to play. Some of the things that really annoy me about his play are team rules that he is making a point of following, like his habit of snatching the loose ball and playing on when a teammate gets a free kick.
  21. Awesome! What a great reward for his work this year. He totally deserves it.
  22. I said a few years ago that I really wanted Nathan Jones to stop winning B&Fs, not because I didn't like him, but because if he kept doing it, it would be an indication that the club had not advanced. I'm absolutely thrilled that he's no longer the run-away winner every year and we're seeing the young guys stepping up to lead the club.
  23. I gave up on it. Not worth the bother when I can get updates on here.
  24. "I'm trying not to show how drunk I am right now..." You mean when our mids kick blind high bombs on his head and force him to compete with three opponents from a standing start rather than opening their eyes and trying to find a free target or give him something to lead to?
