  1. There are going to be some headaches next year when we have Hogan and Lever trying to squeeze into the side.
  2. I'm just looking through the stats. I can't believe how little ball we had. Our mids seemed to be everywhere, but only three players went over 20 disposals. The Hawks had more inside 50s as well. The stats really don't look like us winning by 30+ points and kicking over 100 points.
  3. The Umpires tried damn hard to take it off us. Amazing composure to pull control back out of their hands and run away with it.
  4. But no mention of Sicilly a couple of minutes later flying out the front of the pack.
  5. Wow. I can see why people hate Nicholls. The bias is blatant. The guy should never have been given a final.
  6. I heard that Nev has taken him on as a project. He's coming along ok. Not setting the world on fire, but steadily improving.
  7. I queried the AFL as to why I wound up sitting in a Geelong section at the last game. They replied with the following: So basically, you SHOULD be seated in your club's section, but they make no guarantees and I was just unlucky.
  8. I have a possibly silly question. Given that we buy tickets by following a link the club gives us and entering our membership number, are we supposed to be allocated seats in a Melbourne area? I wound up sitting in a Geelong bay and I don't see how that works. It's not like I had the option of picking seats. I just selected the area behind the punt road goal and that's what the system gave me. If there are not bays designated for each side, then how did all of the Geelong fans wind up in the same spot? I'm confused.
  9. A bit harsh on Petracca there. If Salem gets a seven with his cervine tactics, surely Petracca rates equally with his six tackles and one brilliant assist to his captain?
  10. He contributed multiple uncontested marks to the Geelong stat sheet.
  11. Home now. Bloody Hell that was awesome. The noise when Jones kicked that goal in the last... Incredible. Loved the Weed's game. Not just that he had 24 disposals and three goals, but he also racked up four tackles. For a young KPF, that's awesome. I've done my share of bagging Lewis during the season, but he was immense tonight. If there's one knock n his game it's that he didn't get a tackle to his name, but he did everything else, including putting himself in Harm's way taking intercept marks. He was everything we needed from a veteran tonight. I don't think I can go through everyone who was amazing tonight, but I've NEVER seen the team attack the ball and their opponents like that before. If they do that a few more times this year we'll have a pretty silver cup. I should also point out that we have 18 players in that side with a 100% winning record in finals. ? I would have Salem in that sentence. He had some shockers. He was the only player out there for us who looked like he was overwhelmed by the occasion.
  12. We were pretty poor for two quarters. Well, maybe not poor, but we dominated the game while being almost entirely ineffective in attack. They could easily have pinched this one from us with a five-minute burst in the last because our ball movement going forward was terrible after quarter time.
  13. I have never seen the Dees tackle like that. It was Richmond-like. Absolutely epic effort.
  14. That quarter was bad Demons. We stopped looking for targets forward and started kicking long to the contest. Mental lapse. Hopefully they get their heads sorted for next quarter.
  15. Did NOT see that coming! What the hell? Geelong ferals are frothing at the mouth.
  16. Just got to the MCG. I see an awful lot of Geelong jumpers in our members' area already. Pretty sure you needed a Dees membership to buy these, so how did they get access?
  17. How many times have we said that? We come in with all the momentum, the Hawks playing like rubbish, and they take a scalpel to us and win by 50 points. It's not a matter of them being rubbish or us playing well. Their game style takes us apart every single time. We just don't have any answers to their precision kicking game.
  18. I have to say it. This is frightening. Richmond are looking awesome. Also, if we win tomorrow we get the Hawks on the rebound. They've torn us apart every time we played them. It may seem odd, but they are the team I least wanted to run into as we seem to have no answers to their game.
  19. I think the last decade or so has shown us that it's not top draft picks that make a club successful. Melbourne tried that trick and fell flat on their face. Carlton has had more no. 1 picks than any other side including the two expansions, and look at the good it's done them. Our own example shows that the back-end needs to be properly run before things come together on-field. Rather than worrying about the loss of talented but unfulfilled players, GCS need to get their act together off-field. That is where the AFL can really help them out, just as they did with us. None of this Priority Pick rubbish that both GC and Carlton are asking for.
  20. Interesting. This is one of the stats that Roos was always talking about. We needed to win more quarters. Amazing what happens when we do.
  21. I don't know if it helps, but i had success with their mobile site. Never got past the queue on my pc though. I do plan on writing to whoever it is that keeps inflicting these muppets on us to strongly urge them to take their business elsewhere.
  22. Good to see they have the most boring fixture on during the day. Given the history, we should have a close, high-scoring game, so it's only right we get a decent timeslot for it.
  23. It was very noticeable at the ground how little support they had. Their cheer squad basically took up the two rows directly behind the goal. Other than that, nothing. They really are The Spice Girls.
  24. 6 - Harmes. It says something when your tagger is being held at the bounce. He is becoming a genuine star. 5 - Gus. Just plays a great all-round midfielders game. 4 - Gawn. Thought Lobbe showed him up early on around the ground, but Max dominated the ruck and worked hard to counter Lobbe's forward running. 3 - Frost. Could have been higher. He's really settled into the role as last defender, using his pace to close down space and generate counter-attack. 2 - Salem. Not prolific, but he rarely wasted a touch. 1 - TMac. Got us on the board early. Had his kicking boots on today.
  25. Mostly ok, but those two free goals they tried to give away are a big problem.
