  1. Best thing about Track is that he makes scores happen. He may not get a disposal or credit for an assist, but a LOT of scores were caused by him crashing into people, tapping the ball out and generally wreaking havoc.
  2. I don't think he featured in the top results.
  3. I think he'll stay with the Pies. They'll give him a third year and talk up their flag chances. That plus staying with his friends plus better facilities...
  4. I'm a little annoyed we didn't make a play for Bruce. He's not a word-beater, but he'd fit in with our mobile talks. As it stands now, I wonder if it would be worth taking a punt on McBean? He has size, can pinch in the ruck and had a big season in the SANFL. At 25 he'd be ready to go right away and put some pressure on Weed to improve.
  5. Young topped the agility test at the combine. That's often a good indicator.
  6. Potentially a PR bonanza as well as an onfield star.
  7. Exactly. It kills me every year to see other clubs take a risk on highly talented players and getting great rewards while we play it safe and get good clubmen with great character who will do a solid job on the field but never set the game alight or win a match off their own boot. We need to find a way to get some serious elite talent into the club and he's a free hit that could turn into just that.
  8. I really like the look of this kid. I think there's some massive upside there. I'm not sure we'd take him with pick three, but if we split it and downgrade a few spots he'd be a great get.
  9. Nope. He's a free agent. We don't need to use a pick on him. The only thing he costs us is one spot on our list and whatever salary we agree to. Given we have two Wagners on our list, we obviously don't value list spots too highly.
  10. My biggest issue with this is that he's going to the Hawks. [censored] the Hawks. They refuse to release an assistant who by all reports was desperate to come to us. They took our one and only AA-quality player when we were the worst side in the league. $cully plays there. I'd rather send him to Collingwood.

That's easy to understand. Our coaches have no [censored] idea how to play.
  12. I can't remember the game, but it was a come from behind win. They interviewed Oliver after the match and asked when he thought they had the game won. He said that they were down, heading to the centre for a bounce, and Gawn looked over, gave him a wink and said something along the lines of "no worries, we've got this boys," and he just knew that they were going to win.
  13. The 7Mate trade show just discussed this. They said we look like a chance, but the Hawks are sniffing around and they are really good at getting their target if they show a genuine interest.
  14. On SEN earlier today (4ish?) they said that this deal is all but done. I don't know how highly you rate that information, but it was in response to a text asking if Melbourne were doing anything. They said Tomlinson is done bar signing the paperwork, Langdon will get done and we're ahead in the race for Elliott.
  15. I agree he was better than many give him credit for, but Gawn still needs to be Captain. He's the onfield leader, the mids all look to him and he's by far our best player.
  16. Great call from a great captain. He's been an absolute champion for the club and carried the team for close to a decade. Now he needs to focus on keeping himself fit and firing so he'll still be there if and when we challenge again. He deserves to play in a GF.
  17. Wonder if we can sack Goodwin and offer Yze the senior coaching spot next year...
  18. We need to sink some time, effort and money into our own NGA. If the club did it right we'd have a steady stream of talent coming in.
  19. Speed, marking and goal-kicking. We need all of these things. His size is an added bonus. I'd love him in the side.
  20. Not that unequal. We have a potential goldmine if the club puts the work in. Our zone has a massive Sudanese population. If the club pull's it's collective finger out and gets active recruiting and running academies for these kids we'll be able to pull in some serious talents.
  21. I'm underwhelmed by this list. None of them are required players. I'd rather see Frosty get another deal.
  22. Have to say, Matisse Stynes does a great job with the media. Obviously she's had a lot of practice by now, but she speaks really well.
  23. Just to be clear, we wouldn't need to use a pick on him. He's a Delisted Free Agent. If we came to an agreement with him he'd be a free hit. With that in mind, I wouldn't mind taking a punt. We're in a bad position list-wise in that we've brought in too many inside contested beasts and no outside players to balance things. This is a player who could fill one of those spots and go a long way towards balancing the side better. He costs us nothing to bring over and would probably take a pretty low contract to get himself back into the system. Sign him up to a two year contract, tell him he's got to show the team that he's committed on the training track and spend time helping Nev with his community work. I say two years because he won't be able to do a full pre-season this year. If we gave him that time to get his body sorted and then put the pressure on in the next year we'd see what he really has to offer.
  24. I don't know if you're trolling or not Ron, but I'd be thrilled if he came back to us. He is strong everywhere that we are weak. His kicking is as good as any in the league and most importantly he was the number one player in the league for retaining possession with inside 50 passes. He would love playing off HB as the spare tall/intercept marker alongside Lever and May. It's his best position and we saw this year how well he plays it. As for his contested work. He went 1-3 against Weed, TMac and The Bull in a marking contest and absolutely destroyed them. He's not a contested beast, but he does ok.
